the f-35 is a joint strike fighter. aka, it can bomb, dogfight, and go on reconnaisance all at the same time, no matter what model. it is in final stages of prototype and will be deployed along with f-22 very soon.

Well the F-35 does have its tactical perks, such as the fact that it can take off from a carrier unlike the F-22. Also it has higher stealth ability unlike most if not all other aircraft on any carrier.
