We have almost no devs, so what are we expecting of? Our phone isn't old, come on! 1,5 Years, it's a very good phone for it's price. i love it. But we have only a few devs. we had a lot of devs, but they moved to Xperia Ray, Xperia Arc and other high-end phones. It's sad... i will maybe buy Arc S and forget about this, it has good price too here in Portugal, around 300€ on Vodafone PT
@Urmarica The 3DS wasnt a failure at all indeed but the HTC EVO 3D just plainly sucked :/ it was my phone for more than half a year but it just was too laggy, the screen sucked, the 3d was just plain ugly and the viewing angles were horrible. The device protested at any way to improve it and the hardware just didnt play along with the codecs.
1.EVO 3D is a great phone ... i would'nt trade it for any other phone....the 3D camera is a great conversation starter...Galaxy S-II is good hardware, but i cant live without HTC software...it might be bloated but its very functional...you cant beat or copy the contacts and browser (everything else has been ported to other phones)
2. 3D movies make more money because you have to pay more to watch IMAX 3D version of the movie....and/or there is also DTS version(amc theathers) thats more money.

I predict that the Android Market will have a lot more apps optimized for tablets thanks to ICS running on Androids of all screen sizes.
A second prediction is that we will see something close to what happened in 2011. Tegra 2 from nVidia was the first dual core on Android devices, but the Exynos from Samsung was faster. Now, the first device quad core Android is launched with Tegra 3 (Asus Transformer Prime TF201) but I think Samsung's quad core processor will also beat the Tegra 3.
I predict that in 2012 I will purchace a new device only to be disappointed 1 month later when something amazing is released...I will also lash Verizon to a light pole along with an angry honey badger and a skunk juggling dead hamsters for passing on the Galaxy Note.

Android becomes better than Apple in every way. That prediction has been around for a while, but I'd say that phones are already better, and tablets seem to be doing the same as what phones did.
At first Android was just an alternative, if you hated Apple to the point you couldn't bare to buy one of their products.
And then they become pretty equal, e.g. Iphone 4 and Nexus One - i.e. prime transformer and ipad 2
So in theory, Android tablets will be better this year >.<
Just to say I agree about the 3D. When I watched on 3D the Avatar movie which is about 2.5 hours long I felt like my eyes are dissolving and running down my cheeks... Felt terrible afterwards

I think ICS made a step forward in terms of performance and stability but Google needs delve further...all the way down to the Linux embedded core and the mobile JVM to increase perf and stability.
I really don't understand the need for quad core mobile devices. Dual core phone do everything you want - the only thing you will get from quad is a lower battery life which is already pretty bad on smart phones already. The big area where it should improve is in the software - that's where a lot of innovation can occur. Making the apps and OS more intuitive, and easier to use.
I predict that 2012 will bring mfgs closer to the realization that Android is no different than the defunct Windows Mobile in terms of user experience. No matter how many cores they add.

I think 3D animations are nice, but beyond that, the experience usually makes me feel dizzy. I have stop watching 3D movies unless there is no choice.
Nice vid good predictions may also throw in there longer-lasting battery thanks to for example photovoltaic layer above screen (french tech yay!) And more Wi-Fi direct based tech and apps or maybe USB 3 on tablets etc.

Manufacturers need to focus on battery life as well instead of simply the device's specs and hardware cause it seems that while hardware is rapidly evolving, the batteries haven't.
If we do get quad-core phones they will have to also unveil a new battery technology so that the phones are actually fun to have, not bricks that can be powered on for a 2 hours before needing to be recharged

@Confucius0ne Adding cores are better than increasing clock rate as a way to improve performance with respect to power consumption. Power apparently goes up with the square of clock speed, whereas it only goes up linearly with more cores. That's why ARM is going after multicore designs. Of course, the downside is that you have to make use of the extra cores. And that means all sorts of fun with multithreading.
I like 3D... Please don't hate me. Yes the technology still needs to grow, but it won't be leaving anytime soon. LG will continue to produce more 3D TVs with cheaper 3D glasses and there will be more 3D Blu Ray content. 3DS wasn't a failure, if you know anything about the gaming industry, its clearly too soon to make that call. It wasn't the price, or 3D. It was the untimely launch and lack of CONTENT. Now with two Mario titles and more games, 3DS sales are increasing worldwide.
@CheddarJack18 reason I mentioned LG is because that means 3D will be in more homes this year. Also on the matter of 3D on phones, Hitachi has made lenticular 4.5" displays that are easier and more pleasant to view.

since most developers haven't really fully utilize the maximum power of the dual core processors, chances are we'll see faster dual core processors with better battery usage.

and the last thing iphone 5 wont be as successful as iphone 4 due to the increasing number of the various awesome android devices.
I predict an aggressive roll-out of LTE around the world, and "LTE World Phones." That is to say phones which will be compatible with the various LTE frequencies used throughout most of the world. In conjunction with this, I see the return of uncapped, unthrottled, unlimited data (hopefully)...
I predict that an interface will be invented between the brain and computers allowing people to choose to migrate their egos from there bodies into a computer thus making the human body obsolete but making the human spirit immortal. Cross contamination over the interweb will then result in one giant immortal godlike consciousness ...although... maybe this mightn't happen in 2012.... but it might....and if it does it'll be called The Elder Scrolls 6.
3D won't be going just yet... Flicker-free no glasses TV/devices are coming. Also, no 3D is coming aka 4D. How I know? Surely you can guess but how, why, ugh what? 4Camera shooting and render to stream and can't say more but it's converted and output as your 3D but not. Confused? See me at CES!
The 3DS got a LOT of hype after seeing the games that were being made for it, Kid Icarus, Kingdom Hearts 3D, SkyFox 3D, etc. If they'd launched with those games, and had some more in the run then it wouldn't have been as much of a starter fail as it was. I even waited to purchase it because I KNEW the games wouldn't start coming out until the coming/recent months. Getting mine on the weekend now.
I agree very much with the 3D dying. Hopefully 3D TV's anyway, I see no point in them.
I wouldn't say the 3DS was a TOTAL failure. The main problem with it was the lack of any decent launch games. I mean, Ghost Recon? Psh. Nintendogs, kinda nice I guess... But no. Nothing actually good came out until the last few months. We got Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land or whatever it's called, and the Super Pokemon Rumble game.
Infact, it's interesting to note that the 3DS actually did sell more devices in it's opening week than the recently released PS Vita.
I hope 3D dies. It's just so annoying most of the time and not worth it for the rest. Won't miss it. The reason 3D movies are so successful is that the entrance prices are much higher and many blockbusters people would watch anyway are in 3D
why did you say the evo 3d sucked? it has the same specs as almost every superphone in existence PLUS 3d. you may say that its processor is weaker than the rezound but in reality it is the exact same but it is underlclocked.

Nice vid good predictions may also throw in there longer-lasting battery thanks to for example photovoltaic layer above screen (french tech yay!) And more Wi-Fi direct based tech and apps or maybe USB 3 on tablets etc.
I surprised to see nobody mentioned (at least in the first wave of comments) the big ass white paint stains on your wall behind that reminded me of a sassibob video where someone went crazy in the comment about tiny ones on sassi's wall!!

I don't think its a prediction but i hope nokia will release the flexible phone sometime this year. I heard that samsung was also working on those. Not entirely sure about samsung i think it's a rumor Since i cant afford to go to CES

Sam did you ever realize that the reason 3D movies make way more money than 2D is because each ticket cost double.
Still people just need to stop buying 3D tickets. They suck and this is a bad economy people. Get with it. Save you money and actually enjoy the movie.

Google releases new major android versions every 6 months.
and seeing that they just announced ICS and that they pushed back IO to July (I think), it's pretty obvious that we're gonna see it there

Manufacturers need to focus on battery life as well instead of simply the device's specs and hardware cause it seems that while hardware is rapidly evolving, the batteries haven't.

If we do get quad-core phones they will have to also unveil a new battery technology so that the phones are actually fun to have, not bricks that can be powered on for a 2 hours before needing to be recharged

Seriously, I'm ok with my single core phone and its battery life. The core wars will be the MHz wars of the near future.

@Confucius0ne Adding cores are better than increasing clock rate as a way to improve performance with respect to power consumption. Power apparently goes up with the square of clock speed, whereas it only goes up linearly with more cores. That's why ARM is going after multicore designs. Of course, the downside is that you have to make use of the extra cores. And that means all sorts of fun with multithreading.

I like 3D... Please don't hate me. Yes the technology still needs to grow, but it won't be leaving anytime soon. LG will continue to produce more 3D TVs with cheaper 3D glasses and there will be more 3D Blu Ray content. 3DS wasn't a failure, if you know anything about the gaming industry, its clearly too soon to make that call. It wasn't the price, or 3D. It was the untimely launch and lack of CONTENT. Now with two Mario titles and more games, 3DS sales are increasing worldwide.

@CheddarJack18 reason I mentioned LG is because that means 3D will be in more homes this year. Also on the matter of 3D on phones, Hitachi has made lenticular 4.5" displays that are easier and more pleasant to view.

since most developers haven't really fully utilize the maximum power of the dual core processors, chances are we'll see faster dual core processors with better battery usage.
phones cameras will be significantly improved, all thanx to iphone 4s, not that im a fan of the iproducts but credit is given when credit is due and the 1080p of the 4s is really amazing,
and the last thing iphone 5 wont be as successful as iphone 4 due to the increasing number of the various awesome android devices.

I predict an aggressive roll-out of LTE around the world, and "LTE World Phones." That is to say phones which will be compatible with the various LTE frequencies used throughout most of the world. In conjunction with this, I see the return of uncapped, unthrottled, unlimited data (hopefully)...

I predict that an interface will be invented between the brain and computers allowing people to choose to migrate their egos from there bodies into a computer thus making the human body obsolete but making the human spirit immortal. Cross contamination over the interweb will then result in one giant immortal godlike consciousness ...although... maybe this mightn't happen in 2012.... but it might....and if it does it'll be called The Elder Scrolls 6.

3D won't be going just yet... Flicker-free no glasses TV/devices are coming. Also, no 3D is coming aka 4D. How I know? Surely you can guess but how, why, ugh what? 4Camera shooting and render to stream and can't say more but it's converted and output as your 3D but not. Confused? See me at CES!

The 3DS got a LOT of hype after seeing the games that were being made for it, Kid Icarus, Kingdom Hearts 3D, SkyFox 3D, etc. If they'd launched with those games, and had some more in the run then it wouldn't have been as much of a starter fail as it was. I even waited to purchase it because I KNEW the games wouldn't start coming out until the coming/recent months. Getting mine on the weekend now.
I agree very much with the 3D dying. Hopefully 3D TV's anyway, I see no point in them.

I wouldn't say the 3DS was a TOTAL failure. The main problem with it was the lack of any decent launch games. I mean, Ghost Recon? Psh. Nintendogs, kinda nice I guess... But no. Nothing actually good came out until the last few months. We got Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land or whatever it's called, and the Super Pokemon Rumble game.
Infact, it's interesting to note that the 3DS actually did sell more devices in it's opening week than the recently released PS Vita.

I hope 3D dies. It's just so annoying most of the time and not worth it for the rest. Won't miss it. The reason 3D movies are so successful is that the entrance prices are much higher and many blockbusters people would watch anyway are in 3D

why did you say the evo 3d sucked? it has the same specs as almost every superphone in existence PLUS 3d. you may say that its processor is weaker than the rezound but in reality it is the exact same but it is underlclocked.
