Some phenomenal acting from Ed Harris. He emotes more powerfully with slight facial twitches and a softened voice than any Shakespearian actor can with whole use of the stage while bawling out lines in iambic pentameter.

IMO

One interpretation of this scene could be that the creator is God(duh), Jim is Adam. God says that he has created a perfect place for him(Eden) but Adam chooses to leave for a chance at a real life with hardship but great joy, love, and adventure. God does not stop him and in some strange way approves.

This is the Nice 1984, but make no mistake, it was no less real than the Police State many countries are moving towards. Telling their citizens lies, Watching Over Them every minute, Masters Over their Media and therefore completely distracting and Brain Washing Them, while the biggest Corporation of all The Federal Reserve (yes, it's not part of our Government but very much it's own Empire) prints and controls our Money. I had a psychosis 2 years ago. Triggered by different drugs: Amphetamine, XTC, Shrooms and so on. Than i begun to to believe my whole life is like the truman show. And still yet after the psychosis, i still have some feelings quite similar to this. I think theres some truth in it. It ends only with death i think, but who can say that for sure?! I think i know now why there is a "all seeing eye" and why we have a faith.

I like how the woman is praying to the real God that Truman will defy the director while the director is acting like a god to Truman, and the fact that Truman hears the voice from the sky and that he went up a stairwell to get to the point, which is like Jacob's ladder...oh, this is sweet.

I must say, of all Jim Carrey films that I have seen, I think this was his most powerful performance. I mean, there were moments of comdeic humor, but it wasn;t over the top. There were moments of extreme dramatic strength, but it didn;t become melodrama. A truly fantastic film, and this was a wonderful finale.
