The ort cloud the gas giants outer planets cloud nine 9/11 number theory the Gas Chamber chemistry gases spectrum clound nine? how many planet in your solar system speak earthling!
is this the first musical use of the word 'disrespected' as a verb? Temptations - original talent often imitated - never truly duplicated but spawned LOTS of great music in their wake...........I remember driving past Springwood avenue as a kid during the race riots, and burnings in asbury park in 1966/7 and knowing that things were CHANGING, but didn't really understand how big it WAS. The music reflected the times. Cloud 9 - drug high......to escape the horror
MAKE ME THINK WHEN I WAS IN CLEVELAND, OHIO GROWNING UP TRY TO MAKE A LIFE FOR MYSELF. ALSO, MAKE THINK WHAT GOING ON IN THE WORLD TODAY WITH THE DRUG'.THEREFORE, THAT SONG GOOD TODAY.
@MizzHearts123456 DIFFERENT TIMES, THE JACKSON FIVE WERE EQUALLY POPULAR - MICHAEL JACKSON SOLO DID NOT START UNTIL 80'S AND HE AS A SOLO ARTIST WAS AND STILL IS THE BOMB!!!
I wish i was around in the 60's so i could meet the temptations!(: dang mom for having me in 1996 :\ haha(: jk..no i really wish I could meet at least one of them!!
Yeah ...a time machine sounds good. So much was going on back then...the Vietnam war....protests...the world was spinning round and round pretty fast back then...things happening so fast it was like being in a room with a strobe light.
Drug use was so widely accepted back then as in "Cloud Nine". Especially in the colleges! Most of those government officials in office now were into drugs of some kind back then...Now they 're making laws to lock-up people like they used to be! Life is so strange!!!
The Temptations are one of Motown's famous sons because they had style, they had class and when you listen to any Tempation hits they brought the best out of all us.
Cloud 9, I can't get next to you and Beauty is only skin deep for me all the way.
RIP, David Ruffin, Paul Williams and Eddie Kenricks.
I just read that this is one of Michael Jackson's favorite songs as a child. Two others mentioned were "Tobacco Road" and "You are My Sunshine". May he rest in peace.
I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first heard this song back in the late 60's. I was cruising around with a couple of fiends in a major US city at night and I was sitting in front passenger seat of an El Dorado. I pushed the button to change the radio channel and ....here come this fantastic song blasting out of the high fidelity speakers of that caddy....Man..the times have changed. What a song.
@mlb29628 My old Dodge had something called a reverbrator, I think that's how you spell it anyway. When 'Cloud Nine' came on I would pull a button under the dash & it was like an echo chamber, and Man, this song would take Off.
@mlb29628 I wish i was around in the 60's so i could meet the temptations!(: dang mom for having me in 1996 :\ haha(: jk..no i really wish I could meet at least one of them!!
May Eddie, Melvin, David, & Paul rest peacefully.

where does the phrase cloud 9 come from?

@Intergalactiic
It is about heroin, I remember when this song came out, I was kid. It's about a guy who takes to heroin to get away from everything.
