  • I had to hunt to find this..as I saw it on the News some time ago. Nothing but self-centered greed. I wouldn't have had the BRASS to do what they did..ie ,,..Fat Cats asking for more..when they make millions. AND give out millions in severence..on the TAXPAYER. Just sick. The people of the US see this. The Bernie Madoffs. THIS IS WHY WE NEED TO TAKE BACK. THIS IS WHY THE MIDDLE CLASS PROTEST. THIS IS WHY THERE IS NO FAITH IN BIG BUSINESS IN THE US. EVERYBODY FILLING THERE POCKETS.

  • Look where they have gotten in life, how much they have put in to get where there at now. If they want private jets let them have there jets they have worked for em.

  • I NEED MY PRIVATE JET GUYS SO JUST SHUT UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE YOUR ALL FUCKING NERDS

  • I think we need to stop complaining that people from other countries are taking our jobs and realize they are DOING A BETTER JOB. If a Japanese car and an American car cost the same but the Japanese car was more reliable, efficient, and better looking, which would you buy? If an American worker and a South American worker cost the same to hire but the South American worker worked harder and did a better job than the American worker, which would you hire?

  • LIFE IS UNFAIR

  • For security reasons. Didn't realise the Taliban's primary target was failing automobile producers. Clearly taking out some dolt who makes 15 - 20 million a year while his company loses BILLIONS is going to bring America to its knees. No winder they have "security reasons". Its amazing how stupid the elite really think the every day person is. I say lets French-revolutoin this bitch up and burn some of these assholes alive on the streets. I work for my money, do you? No? Then die.

  • Oh well, If you keep building junk, people are eventually going to catch on. Looks like your time has come. It's time that the UAW workers earn what they are really worth. How about 10 bucks an hour w/ no overtime, one break per shift, one week of vacation per year, no car discounts, no bonus, no retirement, and no paid holidays. The gravy train is over! Now you can feel a real American workers pain!

  • That's a good plan. How about not making $35/hr for sweeping the shop floor, sleeping on the job, and retire at 50 with a $700 a week pension.. Abolish the UAW.

  • i got an idea. why dont the mercedez benz owners foot the bill 4 the bailout since there the ones who fucked the american auto industry!!! i have an american car... i did my share!!!! i bet the ceo's of these car companys all drive fucking benzers!!!

  • easy only the rich gets bailed out

    the poor doesn't

to make matters worst the bailout money that the rich guy got comes from the poor[middle class]

  • The question here is: Who is going to bail u out when u or your family is in trouble?? Who's going to fly u to capital hill to ask for a bailout in a private jet..huh??? And how do u justified helping one and not the others? There are lots of companies closing and going under during this harsh economic times. Why aren't they getting bailouts? How do u decide that one entity is worth saving and not the others?

  • PLEASE READ! I hear people downing the ceo of the auto indust and saying they dont wanna give tax dollars to them. wtf! who cares about the ceo's and those politicians are just as guilty! save the workers and the AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY THAT AMERICE INVENTED! did we forget the employees of these companies are TAX PAYERS!

  • Here we are criticising CEO's because they asked for bailouts, what about the billions that the US government gives to Israel's defense forces every year. It's ridiculous.

  • That's the problem with american auto makers, they just want to make money.

  • I wrote GM and Ford letters 3 years ago, told them basically to start making smaller engines in smaller cars, better interiors, told them to get rid of the ugly fucking bow-tie and the ugly fucking 1800's blue oval and start spiffy-ing up their image, but did they listen, no, my letter went into the fucking shredder along with all the other letters from other people that saw this coming. Now my taxpayer dollars are going into their bank accounts for to pay for their expenses? Fuck them.

  • they can learn from Peugeot, Renault, Citroen, basically all European makers and also Japanese. with all respect but American cars are ugly, i used to have a Renault 19 with a 1.4 litters engine 5speed manual transmission and the car was fast and strong, and cheap on gas. American cars are too big, i example the Mazda 6 here is different from the rest of the world. those Chevrolet tahoe and similar, like the ford expedition are bad decisions. unsightly cars.

  • @gman2000 Ford didnt take any bailout money. Just crap companies like GM and Chrysler.

  • @doctadeath2020 dude they are all crap companies. your preference to ford does not make their vehicles better. at our roofing company we have 8 GM's various years from 98 to 2010, and we have 7 fords from 05 to 2011, every single one of our trucks has had some sort of bullshit issue from fuel pumps to piston slap , transfer cases to ignitions.....every truck, every single one..... its great ford didnt take any money, props for that, but their products are just as crappy.

  • first they blackmail us saying jobs will be lost if we dont give bailout so we did so they spent it and laid off 40,000+

now their asking for more bailout money

wanna bet they're gonna get the money spend it and lay-off people again

bailout is to maintain their MILLION DOLLAR Salaries and corporate jets

bailout has nothing to do with the lowly workers they're gonna be laid off

  • The pricks should be locked up for LIFE

  • Of all the bailouts that have happened I'm not sure why there was such a stink about this one. 25 vs 750 that wallstreet got. Not to mention, this 25 would save working class jobs. I guess we can all see where Washington thinks their friends work.

  • Kinda like Petraeus flying back and forth between Iraq and Capitol Hill to beg for more taxpayer money to fund the misadventures over there huh?

  • Got to protect to planet an people killers from being in the pack of sheeps they think we are. Shame on auto industry and on thoses who are planning to save them. They have been too greedy.

Exxon has annouced 48 BILLIONS in profits killing the world this year(2008).....why not take the money where it is and stop joking around? Why use the people's money when they have some of their own?

City of Detroit is already a mess. Let's clean it once and for all.

  • Lol this is sad and funny at the same time

  • Private jet is standard practice for security reasons because all the victims want to administer justice and kill the the filthy creatures.

  • I have worked selling Domestic cars for a long long time. There is a definite quality difference between one that is imported. Even the staff at the domestic store (including managers) mostly drove imports. What does that tell you. BIG 3 - stop putting down the competition and start improving, not just criticizing other car companies....ok

  • I agree with you in part. I needed a cheap 4dr good on gas. I found an import nearly loaded, good on gas, great warranty, etc. 16500.00 out the door. Looked at comparable american cars and they couldn't touch it. I live in Michigan and i'm sick of hearing all the you must buy american crap. Only Americans think people should give them business even if they aren't giving you what you need.

  • Thank you for your "down-to-earth comment/reply. It's nice to see someone who see things objectively!

  • because stupid americans dont buy american cars, and around the world they tax american cars but in america there arent any taxes on them. and maybe if you were from michigan you would feel a little differently you ass. the rest of the country is bitching about the economy when michigans economy has been suffering for 4 or 5 years now

  • In truth car manufactoring is alive and doing VERY WELL in the US right now. Its all happening in the South where employees have the "right to work". Michigan is union controlled and that is where everyone is hurting. But there is no shortage of car builders (US and foreign) in the Southern states.

  • what a bunch of god damn hypocrites those cunts in washington, because they dont have million dollar mansions and they dont fly private planes, fucking ridiculous

  • I don't know what makes me more sick, how out of touch the CEO's are, or the grandstanding of Congressmen like they're the pillars of morality. You idiots just passed a bill for billons of taxpayer dollars to go to BANKING CEO's and their failed business models!!

  • Talking about Billion dollars is so though, mostly the money does not belong to government, but belongs to the tax payers. Please don't make sufferer the tax payers!!! let the 3 auto industries borrow it from different institutions and NOT from government because by doing that they will more responsible in doing their business.

  • Im talking about the real owners now the wealth BUSINESS INTEREST that own all the major corporations and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians they are irrellavant, politicians are there to give you the illusion you have freedom of choice, you don't, you have no choice, you have owners they own you.

    -George Carlin

  • what security do these pigs need?

  • to make sure there million dollar salaries are secure!

  • These guys need to go! Coming to congress with the sleazy excuse that their failure had to do with external affects that were not manageable is just crazy. And dont forget that other more successful car manufacturers such as Volkswagen make only 1/10 of what these suckers make. Help them whenever they admit to their stupidity and then make them pump some of their prior salary back in the company just to show that they give a shit.

  • Security also includes corporate espionage and angry layed off workers. May also include stockholders, consumers and whomever else that`s careers is in the tank due to. This all falls under the security umbrella. Now, they should have been more humble and offered logical explaination rather than layed down like a wounded deer. The three combined are asking for loans that are well below the bank free for all. At least this may save and recall jobs.

  • Those three Auto Execs sure have nerve! First trip they just needed $25 Billion. The press made a big deal about the jets so on the second trip the execs had to ask for a little bit more, $34 Billion. Im guessing these CEOs have cojones as big as coconuts and if they come back a third time its going to be like three Dr. Evils from the Austin Powers flicks. I can just see the headlines now: Auto Execs demand 100 Million Billion, and now plan to fly out of town in a phallic shaped rocket.

  • Step back from the portriate. All you see are dots. What they are asking isn`t enough. They should be asking 10 fold. They are fightng for existance and their thousands of suppliers that will go belly up. They don`t make anything, only create, assemble and ship. all the parts and gadgets come from somewhere else. Somewhere is a job. Not to mention the local businisses that rely on the factories and foundries. Screw you, you pro China prick!

  • geeee, lets see, i bought gm and ford, i need to say to everyone who said bad idea, you were the stupid ones, should have seen this coming, guess im going to be the one laughing all the way to the bank. didnt buy chrysler though, maybe i should have huh.

  • Did CEOs of wall street and fannie mae fly private jets too? Did CEO's of these companies get big bonus checks?Yep The automakers had asked for a 25 billion loan and were rejected so what made wall street and fannie mac so special?

  • Bankruptcy would be the end for an automaker because consumers are not willing to make that type of purchase if there is uncertainty as to whether their warranties will be honored for the full length of the contract. The bailout will last them only several months. They will not become competitive in that time span. I would like to help them, if there was a chance for their long-term survival. Unfortunately, they can't overcome decades of shoddy quality in only a few months.

  • Are you serious?! Gangmembers only want to drive american? There are more domestic cars sold than any import in the world! Oh, and if your trying to state the stereotypical "Import cars are built better" thats in the past, Ford's quality for the 2007 model year has equalled or surpased toyota/honda's. GM made the 2008 car of the year. Not to mention that this industry is a piece of American history/innovation that the japenesse stole from us. The quality from the big three will beat any import

  • this is blackmail give me money or i'll lay them off

regardless of bailout BIG3 is going down and cant be helped

  • If they need more money to fuel the jets.....let 'em sell blood like all the workers they laid off.

  • Now is not the time to make the CEOs pay, we can slip into a depression economy

  • Yes all the CEO at any company is over paid, but we cant let a couple bad apples spoil the bunch. You may think your job is safe and not tied to the automotive but it is in some way think about it, your friends and family. don't shoot your self in the foot.

  • What a bunch of crooks, They might as well say " Give us the money so we can buy another freggin Mansion, so we can keep screwing over the American people." We will keep our jets but don't tell. Bunch of racketeers, legalized stealing. They siad they need protection with the jets. That is because they have done someone wrong and they need to watch out.

  • what the hell do you know about any of this, how long have you been economically strained like a few months, try living in michigan you ass

  • Who gives a damm - ALways be prepared. you guys should have seen this comming. I hope that the car companies and michigan hit the balls. I wanna see you CEOs on the street!

  • I hate greedy CEO's just as much as you do. But if auto makers fail, it will be a disaster for not just auto makers but secondary businesses as well. Not to mention, working class people will be without a job. I would have rather seen wallstreet go jobless then the line workers.

  • No, Let them fail - I think it would be an interesting expirience for us all

  • Dont worry mate, its inevitable

The auto makers only need to be around for a little bit longer to keep the status quo and americans complacent to sit on their ass and let people steer them into disaster.

Hence the bailouts, hence Henry Ford directly providing funding to the National Socialists of Germany between 1919-1933.

Dont worry, Obama is here now! Pull your socks up people, life is about to get VERY interesting very soon!

I for one am very excited and cant wait to get an M16!!!

  • Nancy, how did you get here? "I flew in with my tax payer funded leer jet. And I used my jet to fly me around to promote the book I just wrote, so I wouldnt have to vote on domestic drilling"

  • Get money from the bank 700billion loan ...I don't care if the CEOs arrived on bicycles. Let them fail.

  • I agree fully with that. If we let them fail it will allow for other American car companies to take their place(I.E. Tesla motors which makes completely electric cars).

  • PATHETIC

  • Odd that complaints are not heard about Nancy Polosi's taxpayer funded jet.

  • LOL.

  • Instead of putting this money into C.E.O'S pockets...why can't we give the money to consumers as vouchers, to lock them into buying. Anyone wanting a new car get's a $15,000 voucher.

  • If it is a vital industry why don't dealers and suppliers, their executives and employees and the big 3 executives and employees and retirees buy enough stock in these companies to recapitalize the 35 billion they say they need and reap the rewards when the companies recover.

  • Because it isnt.

    USA cars 25mpg/JAP cars 40/mpg

That says it all! Tell me does every american lives in tundra, has to crawl up mountains and pass through rivers to get to the shopping mall?

  • I love how big business hates socialism when it doesn't make them stinky rich. But when hand outs come trickling down, they don't hesitate to fly to Washington in their private jets and beg. If any money gets handed out, it should go to the workers.

  • can't wait for my government sponsored yugo

  • who makes junk cars?

  • hyundai cars are the biggest P.O.S. ever!!

  • bail these parasites out and you might aswell urinate in the wind, they will piss every dime away like a drunk waiting for his welfare check.makes me sick to my stomache how these parasites infect a decent company and then parasityze it until it cant function anymore, like a cancer, or a typhus bacterium.

never a intelligent thought that these lazy parasites are the number one problem, hire experienced, germans or japanese who have pride to run these automakers,

  • People are forgetting that foreign automakers such as BMW, Toyota, and Honda have plants in the US; so in a way aren't they American companies providing American jobs? I rather see the gov't invest in them since obviously they are on the right track building cars that we need and want. Heck, invest the money in small automakers like Tesla that are making global warming friendly cars. For decades Detroit has made their beds and now they must lay in it!

  • I wonder how that guy who asked those dumb questions gets to and from his home state. He probably has a Limo waiting for him outside

  • 1) Without Ford or Chrysler or GM auto companies, America is in big problem, but the country is still AMERICA.

    2) Without AMERICA, where can Ford, Chrysler or GM sell their cars to? Close the companies & go somewhere else, don't sell your cars to AMERICANS, you chickens. See who wins.

    3) Incompetent CEOs of big-3-auto cannot make monies for the companies, when the companies are in big problems, they act like beggers (or kidnappers) to ask AMERICA government to bail them out. SHAME.

  • It's obvious that you don't understand capitalism in AMERICA. GM, Ford, and Chrysler can't see their cars any where else because no one else around the world consumes as much as we do, hence, the foreign automakers make most of their profit here in AMERICA. Without the Big 3, the foreign auto makers will have to pick up the slack and start investing on their own instead of feeding off our companies.

  • 1) Who is more important?

President of USA or CEO of Ford (or CEO of any public listed companies).

    2) How much President of USA is paid?

    3) How much CEO of Ford & other CEOs of public listed companies are paid?

    4) Where is the logic? To run a country like USA is paid so little, and CEOs are paid so high?

    5) Are the CEOs misuse of public fund by getting millions of dollars?

    6) If the company is losing money, that means the CEO is not capable or incompetent. So why pay them so much? Shame.

  • Let the companies restructure themselves, inclusive of renegotiating all contracts-suppliers, unions and Execs-time for some real soul-searching and determining how serious the auto cos are about going forward

  • It seems only fair that government should help since they are the root cause of this problem! Does anyone remember NAFTA or the strict regulations forced upon auto co? To suggest all CEO's fly together is absurd for two reasons: safety & confidentiality. I wouldn't put my entire family on one plane, but I would put the US House and Senate, beginning with Reid and Pelosi! CEO's should tell Congress to eat shit 'n die. As if big 3 should trust them-who got us into this mess in the 1st place!

  • So, you think that they should fly their expensive jets, and be bailed out. So, basically, the taxpayer will be paying for their jets?? Right?? They shouldn't just scale down a little to keep the taxpayer happy? Right?? Fuck the taxpayer?? Right???

  • The automobile industry should be allowed to collapse. They are not capable of building a decent car. They have allowed foreign manufacturers to pass them in terms of quality, value, and innovation. Oh well. Sounds like most of America.

  • Those pig CEOs should learn something from Japanese auto-makers how to improve business, unless they will suck bigger dick in the future even with taxpayers bailout.

  • Douche bag senator brad sherman (nickname "shershit"), the man on guard while the nation gets robbed by mortgage bankers. FUCK THAT COCKSUCKER IN HELL.

  • 3 fat pigs went to congress in their jets..whe saw their pigface the taxpayer told them ,GO TO HELL PIGS

  • bail out those incompitant big3 pigs.. Congress. We'll see how many of you are still in office next term.

  • Think about what you're saying...it's not just bailing out the three pigs, it's saving millions of people from losing their jobs.

  • I'm ashamed by the big 3 auto beggers.

These big-3-auto-beggers are holding CEO posts, and are getting millions of dollars as salaries & other benefits.

The reason auto companies to employ them is to "make millions of dollars for the companies".

If they can't make money for the compaies, why should they get paid?

Since they are non-productive, kick them out of the companies.

Why pay to kick these beggers out? sick of this.

Shame on these auto-big-3-CEOs, they are just bigger-beggers. Shame

  • big three ceo"s SHOULD BE TAKEN OUT IN THE WOODS AND HUNG...BIG DUMMYS

  • I'm a non-violent person.

But I would agree the big-3-auto-CEO-beggers to be humiliated in front of the public.

These fools are paid many-millions a year. If they are so ggoood, then the companies must be making lots of monies.

They beg for billions of dollars, proved that they are are just nuts, not capable, incompetent may be stupid.

Why the compnies are still keeping them?

Boycott the companies may teach others a lesson.

  • These guys made shitty business decisions and they expect money for it? Foreign car companies listened to their consumers and made reliable, fuel efficient cars while American car companies kept making crappy gas guzzling vehicles.

  • You think the banks are in trouble now, wait until 3 million people can't pay their mortgage. Billions and billions of dollars are lost in tax revenue when we have no jobs to pay taxes. It's either 25 billion now or at least 350 billion over the next 3 years in your taxes. Also you will be taking pensions away from 1 million elderly people so they can starve to death. I am ashamed of my fellow Americans for being so heartless and greedy.

  • Are you ashamed of the greedy unions? Are you pleased that all your heathcare is covered and we have to pay for ours? Are you happy that you have a pension and not many others do? We have to save for our retirement. I have. Am I one of the 'greedy' Americans for working hard and saving...or are you?

  • It's not about the CEO's. It's about the worker. If they go down 3 million jobs lost, 4.5 people average family, that's 21.5 million people with no income. The auto worker went from$28 per hr. to $14 per hr, we don't make $77 per hr and never have. Our health care and pension has been cut in half. Say goodbye to all small factories, trucking, rail, sm. business in any area effected. 25% of all large retailers profits when we have no income. You pay for our unemployment and welfare. Complain now?

  • taxpayers want them dead? fat pigs i hate them

  • let them fail. jets cos of security reason. NO FUCKING BAILOUT FOR ANY OF THESE ASSHOLES EVER!

  • Where is the legendary Lee Iacocca when we need him. These guys are no Iacocca.

  • "Let the records show no hands went up"

That's all I needed to hear.

They are not getting my money Tha'ts for sure.

  • For security reasons? Why? Because taxpayers want them dead?

  • let these companies burn. serves them right

  • The argument goes like this: we have to pay high salaries to attract and retain talent. So either these guys are not talented enough and we need to pay more to get better people or there is no relationship between talent and high pay. It does take a special kind of talent to render a multinational corporation insolvent while collecting countless millions in remuneration.

  • No bailouts!

  • I guess you don't work on the production line at general motors then?

  • I oppose all special interest subsidies. Even those that benefit myself.

I oppose the mortgage interest tax deduction, government spending on ice rinks, tax deductions for children, and subsidies to all industries who's products I buy. I would tend to gain from each of these, but I oppose them all on principle. The government should only act in the GENERAL welfare, as the 10th amendment guarantees, not in the interests of ANY special interest.

Government should not have this corrupting power.

  • I don't believe these CEO's have any clue as to what to do besides ask for a bail out. If they don't fail now, they probably will soon thereafter. People just can't afford more debt and new cars are just debt.

  • Thank the UNIONS for this mess,

Dont be lazy Don't join ANY UNION

    A union is adult daycare!

  • and it pays well cry baby

  • Because of the bad dicision to pass the $850Billion dollar bailout for the Wall Street banks, and now in liew of the upcomming Bailout to these clowns Big3Auto, I've decided to NOT PAY TAXES ANYMORE.

They can all go FUCK THEMESELVES!!!

    Join me!

    at w w w N o T a x e s . c o m

  • greedy little bitches at the table. great for america NO to autos

  • when they first said "Big 3"

    I thought:

Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

    (The Boston Celtics Big 3)

  • Why is it a surprise that with gas prices escalating, and detroit not going fuel efficient or alternative fuel, that sales are non-existant. Let em hang I say.

  • private jets to beg for my money. fuck the big 3 turds, right on

  • if the auto makers want to bailed out so they can keep making car's , shouldn't they show us what they have in mind for the future,i haven't seen any new line up's for 2009 of 2010, what are they going to make ?

  • Don't call it a "bailout" or a "rescue",

    call it a "FUN-nancial crisis"....

(Now who would say NO to more fun?)

Also, Special promotion for a limited time!

File for bankruptcy 2 times and get the 3rd one FREE!

  • 買物の日本車ホンダおよびトヨタ。私達は私達がよい車を作るので脱出を必要としない。

  • あなたが良い車を作って lolで?

  • Irony:the congressional members conducting the autoloan mtgs, who have given themselves publicly funded perks of retirement and benefits package greater than they would ever allow their constituents to have, now think they can complain about the Big3 execs using corp.planes to conduct business.Since the U.S.Govt,managed by Congress,is running a far greater deficit than any of the auto co's,has anyone of congress.panel offered to work for$1/year until they get their own House/Senate in order?

  • I was thinking about buying a malibu, but I will buy a camry instead. I don't like GM's management and I don't like the UAW. Fuck both of you. Bankruptcy is what you deserve. We should let Detroit go back to a widerness. that will keep the enviromentalists happy.

  • I agree with you, but I you should reconsider the Malibu. It gets better fuel mileage and is much more fun to drive than the camry. Don't forget, this little meeting is just a show any way.Its funny that the 17% approved congress is wagging their fingers at the Big 3. But meanwhile Congress sends billions to wars that they say they oppose. The US congress has no interest in solving problems. They want more power

  • So while Joe Average is getting screwed over and told to work for peanuts these guys want billions from the same Joe Average's (tax payers) while they still live the high life even though they failed at doing their jobs. I say screw you and the fucked up idea that makes them think this is right. Give the company the money and fire all of them for being total failures.

  • I agree their life style is excessive, however it is not the cause of the problem.I wonder how many of these senators waging their fingers have been on their planes. This who session is a show.Just like the fanny freddie show.Congress scoffed at the greed of Wallst, but then gave them 700billion.WIth no preconditions. This is all a gaffe to give more control over the freemarket.Private planes have little to do with anything more than getting you upset.think

  • I agree. Lower management levels would have been fired for less. They drove the car into the mountain of shit, why should the tax payer pull it out for them? New senior execs should be a prerequisite for any help.

  • And that's why we need a ressource based economy.Period!

  • I love how everyone is jealous of CEO's.

For one, weather there business goes bankrupt or not...there still going to walk away with millions. So by bailing them out your saving "average workers"...not the CEO's. They have billions in assets.

Why does everyone have to be jealous? No one believes in the American Dream anymore?

Private jet is not that big of a deal. Maybe to the average person but it's really nothing special.

So why be jealous of there accomplishments?

  • I usually don't care if people make grammatical errors, however, you really take the cake. You use the wrong version of 'weather' and 'your' once and the wrong version of 'there' twice.

And bailing out an industry that is clearly unsustainable is ridiculous. If those ''average workers' lose their jobs then the government should create green energy and sustainable jobs for them using the bailout money.

  • LOL since when does grammar matter on youtube? HAHHAHA Fucking loser

  • DO NOT BAIL THEM OUT! Let them declare bankruptcy so they can get out of those ridiculous union contracts! If the unions won't help, screw them!!!

  • I am with you but it's not that simple--- thousands of people will be unfairly affected. The real problem is that corporate excess goes unchecked and no one does anything to stop it.

  • We are definitely on the same page, but let me ask you...Why is it that workers for the Big 3 make $40/hr more than their American counter parts at Honda, Toyota, and all the others? Also, are you aware that out of the MSRP of a new car from the Big 3, at least $2,000 of that are for the no co-pay health care costs and the job bank, where people get paid to do no work. There are at least 12,000 employees currently in the job bank. Corporate greed? I say union greed encourage by Pelosi and crew!

  • Okay- but-

Massive job loss brings crime, drugs, divorce, homelessness, and all other kinds of crap that can't be undone for generations. Your idea looks great on paper but try telling that to thousands of broken families.

  • A better reason for the unions to give in. There can't be a union if there are no jobs. So let the unions tell these "broken" families why. I'm through with this! I've had to hustle for my jobs since I got out of college 20 years ago! I've made my own breaks, like I'm sure you have. The fact that the stock market is still dropping since the first bailout proves government should just get the hell out of the way, and stop unjust restriction on business like the CRA, which started all this.

  • Gyaaaah! Brain freeze! I entered into a debate but I am now taking both your and my side at the same time. Someone get me out of this.

  • And now Obama is at the head of the class promoting unions and protecting employees from an possible repercussions for attempting to gain union representation.

These people don't even realize that the majority of unions today provide you with a bill for dues every paycheck and not much more.

  • the big 3 got 3,500 in the job bank toyoda has 4,500 just in texas.the job bank is a jap.ideal get your facts right

  • What a joke, Congresman Sherman is making a stunt show for his own record. Is travilling in a private jet is the key issue here or the thousends or millions of people who will lose thier job is teh issue. Why not taking about presedent Bush when he travel in Airforce one and the whole country is in deep economical trouble.

  • why cant we just help out the big three in order to keep their employees employed? wont we just see an even deeper recession if they go under... or even a depression?

  • FUCKING aye, these boys are getting nothing. HAHAHA FUCK DETROIT

  • we got the money hahaha

  • When I first saw this news item, I was dumbfounded, but that quickly turned to rage. How dare they? Giving up their jobs should be the FIRST requirement (no parachutes) to getting any help. Selling the jets should be second. Sorry, but I will never understand how they could sit before Congress after arriving by private jet. It's obvious they care very little for their employees, without whom, they'd NOTHING!

  • Can somebody please explain to me why we're still protecting Japan for free under the terms we set after WW2? Japan has no military expenses (unlike us), so the Japanese government just pours all their money into research and development for companies like sony and toyota and then those companies run ten times more efficiently than American companies like Ford and GE because they receive tons of money from the Japanese government, then the Japanese companies put our companies out of business.WTF

  • none of what you just said is accurate. Japan is now in trouble too. Lets face it, USA is Japans biggest trade partner.

  • hum... I think Canada is the biggest trade partner...

  • No, What I said wasm USA is Japans biggest trade partner. Canada is USA's biggest trade partner. I think you just misread what I wrote. Either way it doesnt matter. Its all bad

  • You are right. I miss-read your comment!

  • While I don't think selling their jets is going to save the companies.....it's ridiculous the excess these people use in their positions.

  • quit sponsoring nascar off road and rally and all the other money they have spent

produce a product that will last over 150,000 miles and wont have recalls on almost every product they make

remember the day when a car would go 200,000 miles.

    make a good product

  • part 2

the sprocket will loosen up and the timing chain will jump causing the piston to hit the valves aand the valve goes through the piston, then try to order a piston and valve NOPE N/A how about the focus i have seen 5 that have not go over 90,000 miles that the valve seats brake and the engine becomes junk

I am a mechanic and the real problem they have short cut them self and that is what has shot not only themselfs in the foot but all their employees that are going to lose their jobs.

  • Bravo! he knew the answers before he asked the questions, but illustrated his point very well. screw those guys! In a truly Capitalist system, failure for one means increased market share and opportunity for the rest (even if that void is filled by foreign companies)

  • I'm not for giving any business money to offset stupidity, but I don't think most people understand the impact of any of the three of these companies going under.

  • Standard practice? When you're going before Congress to beg for taxpayer money? I've always thought you have to be semi-retarded to be in upper corporate management. This proves it. Of course, the first few billion will go to bonuses and retreats for these a-holes and their pets.
