Don't get me wrong i love dj shadow's recordings -- I am simply saying this genre of music (usually) live is kind of lame. It is 95% pre recorded. Yeah dj's occasionally press a few buttons to trigger an effect or sample -- but why pay a bunch of money to go see it someone press the play button live. His music is sick, but boring to see live.
For one, this show was free so your point does not apply. Did you see him this last tour or have you ever seen him live? This last tour was absolutly amazing

I just think it would be much cooler to see - if DJ's would incorporate some form of live instumentation (like someone playing his badass drum samples)-- There is alot of room for this in his music. Nothing against shadow -- I appreciate his music. I just don't get why people go to see somone play a record.
I don't know if disliking live electronic music dictates -- or has anything to do with my sexuality -- dude. However I am very proud of the fact that I know how to spell the word precision. Learn English if you want to talk to me.
@bd1015 you are wrong ,live he is making great show even better than whole his albums ,you should go for live concert not to store,sorry but i love shadow and for me he is the best of dj's so please u say you can be a dj but surely not good as shadow ,if i would have chance to see him in my country in store i would pay him every money even just to say hello to him,he is making the best sample music ever and its not easy as you think
@bd1015 for starters its not a synth? whatever a synth is? shadow is rocking an mpc sampler. he took each sound of the organ and sampled it to an individual button - then figured out how to play organ donor on his sampler thru the corresponding buttons - watch live and in tune for a better view of the solo. and to say u could make fat money being a dj is a joke! beat matching and creating rhythms from diggin' up random records is an art that few have master and many have tried to duplicate

I personally think he did this as a marketing scheme because everybody wants him to make an album like "Introducing. His second was pretty good, but he doesn't want to be measured by his first bar...Anyway we will find out on his next album if my theory is correct if the next album is wack or dope. To me even the album name and cover of him behind a mask is a hint...We'll see
As amazing as ever the man seems to have found a new confidence in his stage presence, seems to be getting down a bit more than he used to which is good to see. As allways love the cdj re-editing smaple edits with that signature cutting. Cheers Dean/Siz

I think thats the mpc. I think only a few could really make beats like that live. He prob programs though too, at least in addition, when producing.
