WONDERFUL. This is the kind of stupendous piano playing and marvelous music making that only a realy great master could provide. Congratulations for posting this!!!
ive never listened to classical music and i searched for this piece because it was played on an episode of lost. but this is one of the most beautiful things ive ever heard!
I can't quite decide which version I prefer; this, Godowsky or Cziffra. I think probably Cziffra, you really feel he OWNS the piece when he plays it and he really stamps his own personality on it.
Regardless, all three are in a completely different league to any contemporary recording I've found (until my sister gets round to uploading her version).
Sinfoniette - oh what a thoughtful reply! - it was just one of those - "you cannot depend on others days" ( you never can!) - but it all blew away in 4:42 - thanks once again - 5* and a fav. by the way...
Beautiful, extraordinary playing, it's always a revelation to hear Benno perform :-))

BTW, you know that's Tanya Moiseiwitsch (his daughter) and the guy is Benjamin Britten?

You should also listen to his etudes - the named ones are easy to like, I think.
