  • 21 guys are still trying to disarm knives in their Karate dojo.

  • disagree

  • Great clip. Clears the air on the subject. Note most of the 'comments' are filled with crap! No matter how good you get, you will still get cut in a knife fight. If you ever get in one and survive it, you will know what I mean. Spend more time honing yoir concealed pistol draw skills. My Walther PPK trumps your knife!

  • @katooey not always.a knife attack has been known to defeat guns at closer ranges.watch inosanto knife deffence on u tube

  • I use my longest weapons in this situation.

HANDS SHOULD ALWAYS BE USED LAST.

you never want to put your hands into the path of a raging knife attacker.

your longest weapons are YOUR LEGS...if no stick or pipe is present to grab.

1)move your hands around to distract him/give him something to swing at.

    this is natural for him.

2)front snap kick the nuts, shin, stomach QUICKLY.

    He WILL NOT expect it.

3)if he is dazed then grab the knife hand/arm with both hands or quickly strike throat, disarm.

  • Knife attacks are not "ceremonial" fights where the participants

present arms and take opposing positions... Knife attacks are

sudden and unexpected. The knife is hidden and in an instant

it is out and stabbing you all over.

There are not fancy cuts or fluid movements, just brute force and

adrenaline. The key is keep your distance and somehow immobilise

the hand holding the knife. "Defanging snakes" better stay on youtube.

  • @Eaglos techniques that are taught in filipino and malaysian martial arts are all legit. as there is still civil wars in these parts of the world these style are still practiced and used. learning these styles will not remove all danger and make you invincible but give you a better chance of survival. the reason martial artist train a lot is to learn deal with a high tense situation in a relaxed manor as possible as a relaxed fighter fights better. yes i agree keep your distance as in run away

  • I got a question too. Couldn't that useless block be made effective by GRABBING his wrist, and then when he pulls back for a flail you get in and strike his face? You wouldn't even need a knife...

  • Only one question, why doesn't he address that when you use your passive hand for a slight block you could and most likely will get that hand cut? I liked the video, good stuff, practical. I was just wondering what you guys thought.

  • @somethingman16 He does - the passive hand (or "checking hand" as it is also called) only comes into play AFTER a cut/strike to defang. It acts as a kind of "insurance policy"

  • Great video but what if i havent got a knife as carrying one in uk constitutes a jail sentence.

  • The mic got into the screen at 4:02. Sorry, this guy has me paying attention so deeply that I noticed that.

  • Learned everything I know from Vernak. OH WAIT!!! I learned this shit in my butt. Like if you agree!!!

  • My left ear really enjoyed this

  • he's teaching filipino martial arts... filipino martial arts were developed for war and not as a sport... so most of the moves are intended for killing :)

  • Love this man. Call him and you'll find out why.

  • What if he has a gun

  • @RedNYello505 obviously different rules would apply, dummy

  • @RedNYello505 "This tape is called "Advanced KNIFE FIGHTING." Want gun defense? Find gun defense videos, or better yet, pray, because there is almost no defense against a gun. Your only chance is at point blank range, and even that is difficult as fuck.

  • @RedNYello505 What if he has an army???

  • "Not to be misconstrued with this... which is doing nothing..."

    Love that bit

    PV the man

  • checking hand may lose you a finger or two

  • @rkcsam69 Sure, but it's better than losing your life. Chances are your opponent gets cut worse and the situation is (at least temporarily) resolved.

  • Excellent...! Truth! very efecctive

  • what if you don't have a knife?

  • @kelly980

He talks about this in the video "knife defence". The answer is: Run away.

  • But u really can't beat back knife

  • lol 4 real ... He was good but @ end when he said knife holding back is myth .. That technique is used only to move forward quickly against multiple who don't have knife but fighting skill .. U can't move forward like that who has a knife.. With knife offcurse fight like u have a sword..

  • This guy is the instructor of my instructor

  • dobre

  • Finally, a instructor who doesnt just kung fu the shit out of someone, but actually teaches something.

  • Paul Vunak is badass, but what's up with his voice, and how he talks? Was his jaw ever broken?

  • Defang the snake

  • What DVD is this from? I want to buy it. I'd be grateful for a reply.

  • Great stuff.

  • @ Grudniowy good advice..

  • the best is not trying your luck and run away man.

  • Like to learn empty hands against knife .. since i don't carry one myself.

  • Comment removed

  • He's using Filipino Martial Arts technique

  • Vunak is for REAL. Original JKD knife master. Christophe Clugston is cheap rip off merchant copying Vunaks tape trying to sell it for himself

  • @RudeFroggyFrench Christophe Clugston is a fucking joke i wached his video where he put such a big pile of shit on oriental martial arts saying they are product of oriental propaganda and real martial arts come from west, like old Rome, and Spanish conquistadors, and USA,and yet every single martial art that he is selfproclaimed himself as a allmighty mastah of dat skeelz coming from Japan,China,Philipines,Korea,Thiland not a single fucking one of them comes from west, guy is a fucking joke

  • @obrad79 Yes Clugston is a bullshit homosexual. He is even posting videos where he is claiming to be the original jkd streetfighter videos saying Vunaks is copying him!!!! But his video is shit techniques of him being beaten ups by a thai pad trying to knees it. He even claiming to train knife fighting only with REAL KNIVES!!!!! He is giggling like a homosexual teaching fat houswives how to "fight" when all he can teach them is hows to sucking a cock. Stupid homosexual rentboy Clugston

  • @RudeFroggyFrench Hey dude, don't sugar coat Clugston, how do you really feel!

  • This guy is crazy, but crazy in the absolute best way; like the crazy friend you WANT to go drinking with. I really appreciate and respect that he seems to act the way he genuinely is. What you see is what you get. Can't wait to get the money to be trained by him. Well, I guess I shouldn't write "trained by him." It's more like I'd be paying him to whoop my *ss for 2 days. But it'll be worth every penny.

  • ''If I'm just l'm just lookin' this way and I turn around ''what'dju say?'' the guy's cut!!'' LOL

  • wow how come i discover this dude so late!

  • @polski1986 Isn't Vunak incredible?! He actually teaches out of his garage in California. I think he charges $2000, but you get his undivided, hands-on instruction for about 8 hours per day over a 2-day period. He'll work with up to 8 people in that time. I haven't been to one of these training sessions, but I'm saving up for it right now. Everyone who's gone through it seems to love it. Every review I've read about it has alluded to it being a life-changing experience.

  • @polski1986 just be happy you are finding Vunak and not Christophe Clugston cheap ripooff man copying vunaks

  • When I see him I always think about Johnny Cage.... don't know why! ^^

  • Paul Vunak is very skilled in Kali-filipino blade fighting, it is not for cage fighting, or krav maga, it was meant for war and killing and not being killed.

  • could anyone tell me what dvd this is from?and is it still being sold somewhere, thanks

  • What he's discussing makes sense for someone who doesn't know self defense (your average person sitting at home watching this video). However, if you are trained (and I mean thoroughly, not like 1 week) then it's another story. Martial arts like Krav Maga where designed for this scenarios like this. Not saying that it makes you invincible, but there is good reason it's taught to the most elite soldiers around the world.

  • Did anyone notice the mic at 4:02? XD

  • But will i always be carrying a knife with me when someone attacks me with a knife? :') lol

  • Yes, you can defend against a knife if you're a properly trained martial artist. This video is for that guy just sitting at the bar minding his own business who isn't a trained fighter. He's basically saying you're not Bruce Lee, don't act like you are.

  • Now i feel invincible whenever i carry a knife. BRING IT SAMURAI !!!

  • das ist endlich mal etwas, wo ich der gleichen meinung wie herr vunak bin, allerdings sind unsere skills besser, kürzer, runder und logischer ...axel ucc hamburg

  • around 0:25 - who thought of the famous Churchill quote?

  • THEN do we flying face bite?

  • His tone is..disarming *cough

  • ok at 1:24 he says if he pulls away he gets cut.a reall attacker probably wont think to turn away he/she will be thinking (oh he/she blocked it how do i get him/her again not oh hey if i pull away he gets cut

  • this is great, but im an investment banker, we're not allowed to carry knives for protection to work

    looks like im doomed

  • @channelin how about a section of pvc pipe maybe?

  • @undeadhunter5

    nope not funny

  • @channelin snub nose .357 magnum. aluminum baseball bat, 2 foot pvc pipe

  • 4:03 microphone fail.

  • seriously...this is most important video i've ever seen about self defense...so many people radically overeastimate themselves and try to block knives and cath them right out of the air and stuff...i've been practising krav maga for a long time and am now practising aikido...but this knive blocking disarming stuff will NEVER work

  • Him nd chuck Norris would kick ass haha

  • id rather jsut practice krav maga...

  • Wow,wonder if he could kick Jimmy Carruthers ass?

  • @ConnollyJordan what??

  • what about bullets? ;D

  • bring a knife to a gun fight. Stab them while thier laughing

  • paul vunak you are one stupid man, i practice ninjutsu, try to attack me with a knife, you will wake up in a hospital with a broken arm and a couple of broken ribs.... if you are lucky... if not, you wont wake up at all.............

  • @GuitarDestroyer77777 i`m sure that in the description of the video there is a hidden part where it says: paul vunak address this video to ninjutsu fighters and especially to you. He knew you'll get pissed off so see ... he already owned you :))

Seriously, 99.99% of world population does not practice ninjutsu, and this video is addressed to them.

  • @Redecorate He didnt own me! He made a fool of himself!!

  • @GuitarDestroyer77777 did you pass the marker test?

  • @Redecorate you really think ninjutsu doesnt work?

  • @GuitarDestroyer77777 probably it works, after a few good years of constant practice, usually it takes at least 3-4 years to become proficient in an martial art, and a life time to improve it. In that case yea, i'll give you a vote of confidence, otherwise, bare handed, against a knife .. i'd say you're ignorant and you'll wake up soon to reality after the first cut. Anyway, if you say that he's a fool, why did the navy seals contracted him to train their men, for 4 years? watch?v=7ZEm_A3KRcI

  • @Redecorate After 3 years i became proficient in ninjutsu, wing chun, later i studied japansese jujutsu, i can easily disarm an attacker that is charging at me with a knife. He said its impossible. And he trained a team of navy seals RECRUITS, and that was a long time ago. Now navy seals practice japanese jujutsu and kung fu (wing chun, chin na etc.) I was in navy seals for 6 years, we were trained by asian-american martial arts MASTER John Wong.

  • @Redecorate Navy seals have masters right now, not some ignorant instructors like paul vunak

  • @Redecorate you are really stupid

  • @GuitarDestroyer77777 you have really low self esteem for a martial artist, sorry to say it, but that is what stems from your affirmations. And also you spend too much time in front of computer, so i either you're a retired veteran or you're earning your living as a Paul Vunak troller :))

  • @Redecorate yea, i know that you want to suck his dick, i just didnt knew you want to suck his dick that much hahahahahaha

  • @GuitarDestroyer77777 Go Armchair Warrior!!!!

  • For the most party this is true. But i still beleive in the individual. It isn't about the technique your learning, its about the person that makes that technique work whether it was used 1000 years ago or not.

  • very good conceps very good and real most of all

  • Finally someone telling the truth about how to really DEFENCE YORSELF... Too many "MASTERS" teaching useless skills that will never save one in danger situation. Thanks Paul! You are the MAN..!

  • Dumog, and unarmed arts of FMA I think are awesome. But, I cannot stand FMA knife defense tactics unarmed, I think Krav Maga is much better for knife defense, and FMA is much better for knife "OFFENSE"

  • I don't carry a knife. And i came to the video to learn some hand defence.

Instead I just learned that I'm gonna die.

  • @placebo4yo if u look more into Paul Vunak's techniques, you'll realise how safe and deadly you will become.

  • this guy has no idea you can defend a knife with out a knife if you strike as you block

  • best instructial movie out

  • A person should be aware of how important it is be be PREPARED for the worse. Carry keys in your hands, your bag ready to deflect but HE"S right about trying to block like frankenstein. Iv'e had a knife swung at me a few times growing up. Praise the LORD it never connected but i was smart enough to immediatly RED ALERT! and EVADE!! one time i grabbed a garbage pail to defend as i quickley back peddled and jogged off away. It all depends on the situation really.

  • Paul Vunak is the REAL DEAL ! and if you dont have a knife the principles still stand NOT to be within the cutting range. Everyday weapons come into play and/or evasion !! chairs, garbage pail, lamp, broom stick whatever. Aware of your surrondings and strong evasion tactics but most of all out of the range of the attack! Throw your hot cup of coffee or smack the attacker with hard covered books or use your car keys in the face but evasion and out of the range is essential!

  • he is right you will get cut, but if you are trained and you block the knife and at the same time hit him you can win. Krav maga is great with that because you can't carry a knife with you all the time...

  • Fuck you xTheSexNinjax german kid

  • Check the KravMaga knife defence...

  • @jackobr is bullshit

  • I still think I can beat a 12 year old girl with a knife without getting my eyelids cut.

  • ok well i dont have a knife. now what

  • @bassmasterelite

    You're screwed. Run away.

  • @bassmasterelite Use ya belt as a weapon to defend a knife attack..i practiced with many other "possible weapons" wat youcan use as a weapon against knife

  • he's twisting things. when you block in a traditional way you dont just block with your hand, you block and imeediattly or simultanuasly dodge or attack. if you're slow or if you do it wrong you'll get cut but that's true for all martial arts- and you can also easily get cut while using his "checking hand" (which is exactly like a block exept it comes second and not first)

  • @oraionsan

also does he teach unarmed defence against a knife? cause carrying a weapon or using an improvised weapon can easily get you into legal trouble, not to mention that sometimes you have no choice but to fight unarmed

  • @oraionsan

you have no idea what youre talking about....

i dare you to try and block a knife traditionally as fast as you want....you WILL get cut

  • this guy is really good.....super

  • Roy has seen better days

  • Paul Vunak is one of the best fighters that i have ever seen, he is teaching the martial art known as Jeet Kune Do (JKD) this is an art created by the one and only Bruce Lee, one of the best-if not the best-fighter(s) to have ever lived. Paul Vunak is a very smart man and knows what hes doing. And for all of you people looking to join a martial art...Jeet Kune Do is where it's at.

  • paul vunak KNOWS what he is talking about

  • I'd like to see this guy try to stab Roy Elghanayan - one of the best Krav Maga fighters on the planet.

  • I'd like to see this guy try stab Roy Elghanayan, make this guy eat his own words.

  • I've learned some knife defenses, in my krav maga classes, with empty hands and what I THINK is that there are some diferent situations like:

The guy will attack you: If you have enough room to run away or just to deflect from the knife, do it. But if your only option is blocking the knife then just do it (if you KNOW WELL a disarm tecnique try it)

The guy is threatening you: in this case you must cooperate the best you can to calm him down

In any case, ou must do your best to not get hurt

  • Knifes are like tampons.

    There for pussies.

  • the hand + knife video transition effect cracked me up

  • @aaron4820 i want knife wipe for iMovie

  • If you don't have a weapon yourself then RUN. His point is that you shouldn't try to go up against a man armed with a knife if you aren't armed yourself. You wouldn't go up against a gunman if you didn't have a gun, would you?

  • Hey this is really good stuff thanks a ton, i want to watch the full thing haha

  • FUCK U!!!! u only talkin bullshit nobody can diffend a knife in a real situacion...the only efektive thin that u can do is RUN nothing else...if u want run and pick up a stone and throw it to your opponent but dont ever think about do defend it...@all

  • @ghanadomfree coward and gay!

  • what when i don't have knife? bullshit

  • @DmitriDonskoj if you don't have a knife, then there's a 99% chance that you'll get cut or killed. If you don't have one, then backoff unless you wanna fight back and end up dead.

  • @nickz777 u can get big cuts, but knife fights don't usually kill, because most of the cuts are in arms or legs and especially on the belly and back. And these are not usually fatal because when ppl try to deflect, the cuts are smaller. It's comproved that most (not necessarily all) fatal victims of knifes are ppl that can't defend themselves well (old people, kids, retard ppl) and ppl that are not prepared to defend themselves (drunks, ppl looking in other direction, woman against big guys)

  • @seusgordo yeah..that's if you have a knife,,but I'm talking about the possibilities you're gonna get if you don't have a knife while your enemy has one.

  • @nickz777 "u can get big cuts, but knife fights don't usually kill, because most of the cuts are in arms or legs and especially on the belly and back. And these are not usually fatal because when ppl try to deflect, the cuts are smaller"

Unfortunately this also happens a lot with ppl that don't get a knife, although you're right saying that without a knife the chances to get killed or injured are bigger like I said in my comment about kids, old people, woman, etc.. they don't usually have knives

  • @DmitriDonskoj

then why watch this video if you dont have a knife?

  • bullshit, what when i dont have knife? :/

  • Im suing this motherfucker, tried this at home and stabbed my mum in the throat!

  • I only down to earth instructor i've seen so far.

  • i must say this video is good except 1 thing, u need a knife to defend yourself. the reason martial arts teaches u 2 defend with ur arm is that most people dont carry knives. I do krav maga and taekwondo and they know their arm defences are no good but their point of view is its better to get a cut to the arm than a cut to the neck. and with the krav maga defence technique if done properly the attacker doesnt get a second strike coz the attacker should be out cold if done correctly

  • Imagine the look of horror on your opponents face as he realizes you have 24 throwing knives in little holsters around your belt. ==|===> hahaha :D

These videos are realistic about knives, sure. But in today's world, if you want to adequately defend yourself, get a gun. Then stay OUT of bad situations in the first place, don't let your guard down and don't let people get behind you or too close. But don't carry ANY weapon if you don't have the heart to kill to save yourself.

  • @defacto109 knives are pretty popular murder and assault weapons (especially in schools). The problem with defending with a gun as a self-defense weapon is that 9/10 times, someone ends up dead, and even if you were in the right, you will still get prosecuted. Plus realistically, in 80% of situations, you probably won't have your gun to protect you when would need it most (i.e. an airport).

  • @serenadesilhout You're right, but I think an airport isn't the greatest example. Doesn't invalidate your excellent points though. No self-defense tactic or philosophy is 100% fail-proof. But a gun > knives unless you're in a telephone booth. ;)

It's being a bit romantic and unrealistic for one to think you're always going to duke it out in some chivalrous fist-fight or noble knife fight, mono y mono though. Many people operate under that wishful delusion. Note, just a point; not targeting you.

  • @defacto109 i know, it just was the most obvious example I could think of. Also most schools and public areas are other examples. I'm really glad this video is up because real combat knives are sharp as hell and will ALWAYS cut something. It just takes the slightest nick to make you bleed profusely.

  • @serenadesilhout Hell if you took every cut I've gotten from a knife in my lifetime and put them all on me at once, I'd have spaghetti for hands! It's easy to just accidentally split yourself wide open from mishandling a sharp knife. So I'm glad I've never been stabbed or sliced by an angry person. It's NO joke. Just look at the wounds on prisoners who got into fights with prison shanks. Those are makeshift blades that aren't very good; a regular pocketknife could make it 100x's uglier.

  • erm... and what if i don't have a knife for protection? i should just stay there and wait to be killed?

  • @Azbijanac if your too stupid enough to do that

  • @Azbijanac well if you have aids... your in luck, just spit in his eye and he'll die eventually.... =)

  • @DRAGONIRONFIST aids cant exist outside the body

  • @DrGreenfun whgich is why you spit IN his eye =)

  • @DRAGONIRONFIST you cant do that aids isnt in spit maybe herpes, there no blood in spit

even if there was its traveling in the air hence no aids

  • @DRAGONIRONFIST

    ahahahahah

  • @DRAGONIRONFIST He's using a Filipino Martial Arts technique. I'ts also part of Kali

  • @Azbijanac paul says to tackle him, or break a bottle, and use that.

  • @Azbijanac Actually no, he has made it clear in one of his other tapes that if you do not have a knife you have two choices:

    1. You stay and fight with large risk for injuries or death

    2. You Run, Hide or Fly (i.e. bring yourself to safety even if you have to flee the attacker)

  • @Azbijanac

Later on in this video he address that and says that if yopu do not have an equalizer (gun, stick, whatever) always, always, always run first....As Paul would say...

"In a knife fight you have a 1/3 chance of survival. If you are better than your enemy, he will die...if he is better you will die....if you are both equally skilled....you both die...In any weapons confrontation your fist priority is escape, escape and escape!"

  • @Azbijanac ..Run..

  • @Azbijanac made my day.

  • @Azbijanac

It 'obvious that in this video talking about the fight with a knife but if you're unarmed, there are other means of defense.

In any case, the knife is still very dangerous

  • @Azbijanac improvise....pick up anything u have around you....stick, bottle, knife, rolled up paper, anything...all the same principle. Defang weapon hand, then close in and strike when anything you got!

  • @Azbijanac or use your own god damn brain

  • @Azbijanac I know your comment is a couple of months old, but if you're still interested, the video "Paul Vunak - knife defence" shows you a way to minimise the damage if you are forced into defence (that is, if you cannot run away, which is the most sensible thing to do). "Emin Boztepe - Knife Defence" is also useful and shows you some ways to attack.

  • @Azbijanac well, then you use the "nike defense" GTFO.

  • @Azbijanac its a knife fighting video what a hell did you expect?

  • @Azbijanac its a knife fighting video

  • Largo mano tu sombrado and hubad range. Love it ;)

  • great videos.. crappy audio. my left ear is getting tired

  • a gun yes but a bigger knife is not a guarantee at close quarters a shorter knife has the edge a good footwork is all it takes to neutralize the advantage of longer knife

  • only way to defend against a knife attack is to have a bigger knife or a gun :D

  • one of the old filipino ways during knife fight is to take off the shirt and wrap it around the forearm of the defending hand.the shirt somehow serves as padding that absorbs the slashing of the knife if a fighter wants to get agressive and take it to his opponent

  • in a knife fight sometime you have to sacrifice a finger or limb in order to get to his chest to end the fight early because the longer the fight the more that your life is in danger.i know someone who actually held the knife and lost 2 fingers to stop a knife from entering his abdomen then eventually killed his enemy.Has Vunak fought a BIGKIS HABAY where a 1 meter rope is attached to the belts of combatants? This is vintage filiino knife fighting

  • i am a filipino and i know of at least 3 persons who veterans of knife fighting each have confirm kills. the fight happened where people can see it.i wonder how would VUNAK fare against these men.they said that knife fighting is 80% heart and 20% skill. One which is a cousin killed a fighter holding 2 knives also a skilled fighter my cousin with 7 stab wounds ended in the hospital and still alive his enemy with just 3 stab wounds died on the spot.

  • @theawakener7 i am a filipino.there are places and people here that donot go to the police or to the court when somebody gets killed in the family they get even in ways they only know how.the blade.it started from the time of spanish occupation till after the japanese occupation its the most natural thing to some of us to carry a blade we carry it simply because the other guy might be carrying it too specially in the rural areas where death from stab wound is a common thing.

  • @theawakener7

If you don't know when your life or the life of your loved ones is actually in danger than ALL of your training has been a waste of time. Hopefully you will never have to find out!!!

  • @theawakener7

You still didn't answer either one of my questions but I guess I will still answer yours? Firstly, the fact that you need to ask the question how do you know if it's life or death implies that you've never been in that situation. Secondly, if you are a Guru in Kali (A WEAPONS BASED SURVIVAL ART) then I don't know why we are having this conversation? Thirdly, NO I don't believe everyone should carry a knife unless they are trained to use it and abide by the laws of their state!

  • @theawakener7

Or maybe that 19 year old girl has been assaulted before by 3 men twice her size so she began training in Silat and Kali to gain confidence and to learn how to defend and survive? By the way, i've had knives and guns pulled on me, been hit with baseball bats and a bottle over the head but I never pulled my blade and cut anyone because I did not feel my life was in danger. When your life is in danger, you will know it and you will know when it's time to pull your blade!!!

  • @theawakener7

Well bro, i'm not saying any of those things. You said them bro. Kali and Silat are tribal martial arts meant for survival not sport. Do you think Indonesians and Filipinos carry blades because they are insecure or to puff up their ego? I can't speak for others, but in my style, we train to survive. Blades are carried because they may save your life one day. So, are you saying that a 19 year old girl who carries a blade for self protection is trying to puff up her ego?

  • @PCKSilat the laws in the US maybe different to the UKs..."It is an offence for any person, without lawful authority or good reason, to have with him in a public place, any article which has a blade or is sharply pointed except for a folding pocket-knife which has a cutting edge to its blade not exceeding 3 inches." this includes locking blades, flick knives...so by the time we would have unfolded the blade we would of been cut

  • @scottla78

Yes, the laws are different than the UKs. Every state has their own laws regarding carrying knives, guns or other weapons. We are allowed by law to carry a pocket folder with up to a 4" blade in my state. Hope this helps. Best regards

  • zoolander lookat 0:35?

  • @theawakener7

Hmmm, i'm not sure what type of martial arts you practice but in Kali and Silat, we apply equal force to the attacker. In other words, if they are attacking empty handed, then we will reply with empty hands but we try to avoid duking it out. We would rather counterattack quickly with joint and muscle destructions, take their space and finish them off as quickly as possible. =)

  • stop at 3.23 and watch the knife hand ;)

  • @theawakener7

All Kali and Silat practitioners that I know carry at least one knife at all times and practice draw tactics as well.

  • Answer for Clemen79:

Good Question man, the answer is no. The number (angle of attack) always stays the same regardless of left or right handed partners. It was created that way so instructors could travel to foreign lands, and not have to learn the language of that land, just simply show 1, 2, 3, etc with their fingers.,....and know Exactly what line of attack they would be receiving regardless of whether the person was left side or right side dominate. It just makes training easier!
