I truly believe the USA has degraded into a quasi-democracy. There are virtually no evidences of a republic as founded. Legislature doesn't obey the constitution and neither does the president or the judiciary. This would be happening if the USA was in-fact a constitutional republic. Just my 2 RMB.
The libertarians like ron paul are having a pipe dream. The "free" market is not so free. The game is played better by those with more access, wealth, and information. I agree. If more voters and policy makers don't wake up soon I fear a ever widening income and wealth gap, more hungry people, more poorly funded public schools, an infrastructure falling apart, and the only habitat we have that can sustain us continuing to degrade. I don't think this is pessimistic; it’s realistic. All we can and must do is try.

Yea, after the health care industry foiled our chances (by investing $1.5M per day) of having real health care reform, I’ve been considering retirement in Canada. The Flea Baggers in Congress are obstructionists. They make it look like the political system shot. I don't think it is. We just need for the public to see what fools they've made all too many of their supporters. Maybe in 2012 we can get back on track. Maybe the vested interests will prevent it again. We'll see.

I've been to Toronto and Montreal - both wonderful cities. Montreal almost has a European feel to it - but perhaps that's because of the people speaking French that it feels that way.

Dave Champion makes a good point that by law very few Americans earn taxable income. As president Ron Paul could order the IRS to obey the law and only collect from those who earn taxable income. There is no need to change the law as most who currently pay are not necessarily liable in the first place.

I'm familiar w/ Chomsky and IMO libertarian socialism is *theoretically* the best form of government, but with the entrenched Republicrat duopoly entrenched in American politics there can be no realistic transition to L.S... There's too much concentrated wealth, too much power in Wall St. and central banking system, & too much cronyism between corporations and government.

As the candidacy of Dr. Ron Paul is just as important for us non-US citizens, I went to the RonPaul2012 website, to participate in the money bomb. However, my modest contribution was made impossible by the clause "I am a United States citizen or a lawfully-admitted permanent resident".

You might check the morality of your guests. Mr. Champion dealt with me quite dishonestly several years ago when we were first dealing with the IRS and terrified. He said he had some info he would sell us for $400 that would clear up a lot of the mystery. We had to send $400 cash overnight. We did. He said he never got it and to please send again. We did. Dave Champion makes a good point that by law very few Americans earn taxable income. As president Ron Paul could order the IRS to obey the law and only collect from those who earn taxable income. There is no need to change the law as most who currently pay are not necessarily liable in the first place.

i'm sorry but if he mentioned that, he would be wiped out completely. it's easy for us to say, why don't you talk about this or that, but we're not in that position- saying abolish the income tax, bring the troops home and end the fed is sooo contreversial as it is! i'm happy with what he's offering, it's much more than any other politician. :)

@lysergicgirll well still a stooge it's all just a political debate game will never be resolved until WW3 occurs because americans aren't doing anything to stop the most important issues. Everyone is at fault. Look at the destruction around the world... the loss of lives more serious matters are being overlooked .... sad really sad
