  • The Peter i'm always right and you're always wrong Shiff show

  • great piece peter!! thanks. that article in barron's was shameful

  • Awesome! You should fund an advertisement with a picture of this Barron's clown so people can't point & laugh at him on the street. Monkeys at the zoo are wearing Charlie Sheen 'Winning' tees & laughing at this 'financial journalist.'

  • The Secretary of Labor's initial response to the jobs report was it is all Bush's fault and we need cooperation from the GOP in the Congress......I am thinking is this the most incompetent administration in all of USA history? When will this administration stop blaming everyone else?

  • A real ''patriot'' this Ron Paul

When will people in the US wake up and stand up to this unbelievable hypocrisy?

We serve the capital and capital serves only capital and not the people.

  • @MrAgron038

    Of course.

Because taking the power from the government to buy favors to the "capital" is so beneficial for them.

It is absolutely nauseating how people living in among the most prosperous country on the planet are acting like the spending levels from 2007, 2005 or 2000 will mean people dying in the streets and make half of the US poor.

He is a bad man for wanting you to keep your money.

  • Peter, your analysis is music to my ears.

  • I'm a proud subscriber to peters radio program and a staunch supporter of his investment strategy. If you want to learn things of value economically you need to wise up and give him a listen.

  • in terms of silver and gold there is no depression

as a matter of fact these are most prosperous times in terms of gold and silver gas 8 cents in silver homes 2000 in silver cars 500 in silver

it is insanely prosperous times in silver and gold

people are dumb as hell keeping money in paper assets

they will not raise their value either without devaluing them, number might go up but value will not .

  • Ron Paul should have been president long ago!

  • @Schiffreport most financial advisers are shysters. Most self-directed investors allegedly go broke in 90 days. I've been self-directed since 2009 December in gold bullion & mining stocks. At this time I'm not even working but I'm capitalized enough to STILL be in the markets for metals and not shaken out or broke. That's how good it is. No di-worsifying for me, I'm running the math & making my plays

  • Saw that the price of tungsten went from 30 to 50 last year, I wonder why...

Maybe I will sell my gold and buy tungsten, hahaha !

    Paper Money

  • the only protection against the upcoming mega inflation will be gold & silver thats why no bank will tell you to buy gold&silver because they earn nothing for this advice

  • @Burkard yup & since my bank knows I bought gold bullion they're super-nice to me. They rip off their loan-customers knowing they are locked in & can't run/settle early. They know they can only hope to get my gold back as cash in an account if they are nice to me. They constantly nick their customers on fake fees & transaction fraud, every Canadian bank. Every last one. Not me: My money's mostly gold bars & I can walk. They know it.

  • In the sh** hits the fan scenario, I wouldn't want ANY stock assets, including gold mining stocks. I would prefer to own the actual gold Krueggerands in my own possession. At $1800, however, gold seems high to me in the short-term. In the long-term, it will be the ONLY thing of value. The dollar, like the Euro, will collapse. It will collapse due to insane fiscal policy, ultra-high debt loads, the Boomers retiring in the millions, or perhaps a war or terrorist act involving WMD.

  • @goldenarrow75 good points but SHTF does happen and mines stay open through it. Those with real ownership of those real stocks will still get real gains & have real control. Depends on if you're a trader for profit over any time-scale or an OWNER looking for control & cash-flow from those gains - even if that cashflow is converted/collected from gold. Royalsilver now has 5000$ (US) bonds paying a dividend of 1 oz 9999 silver per month. Not cash. SILVER.

  • @goldenarrow75 the royal silver payout covers 2 years after which you get $5000 back. The 5k is obviously not inflation adjusted (and you can cancel it early) but the silver sure as hell is. This is an automatic diversification. I'm using options for cash leverage to do what I want so I'm holding none of those RS bonds but they do exist. stellaconcepts did a video on it

  • I was broke in the summer of 97, but I told everyone I knew to buy apple computer. Steve jobs was on is way back or already back and rumors of the iMac were just coming out, complete with a G3 which, at the time, was a leading edge chip, USB, A "cool" form factor and I knew he was going to reduce product lines, economize and get Apple back in shape. But even at my level of enthusiasm at the time, I could have dreamed of how well apple did. I wish I had put everything I had in it, I was so sure.

  • gold stocks or gold bullion? I think gold stocks is not a sound investment, long term. Unless you mean gold stock in a miner.

  • Ron Paul voted against all the unbalanced budgets and the debt being accrued, blaming the economy on him is ridiculous. Everyone should put all their money in minerals.

  • Dr. Ron Paul puts his money where his mouth is...literally!

    Ron Paul 2012!

  • @CavemanOfTheYear So he literally put money inside of his mouth?

  • Good = Bad

    Bad  = Good

    When will this game end?

  • So.. I'm thinking... Ron Paul / Peter Schiff 2012

  • Classic. How is this surprising Peter? I'm a money manager and have been laid off for suggesting this portfolio ten years ago. Oh, I was right? No, I was "lucky". Idiocy.

  • If a politician has invested in the S&P and says at the same time that the economy is in the tank and that it is doomed and we must elect him to fix it, wouldn't *HE* be the dumb one?

  • happy trading to all TRADERS!

  • Peter sounds a little too happy about the returns....why do i get the feeling he had a hand in picking those stocks...

  • Gold is the new sub-prime bubble, only worse: leveraged 25-40x not just 5-10x. Look out Below!

  • Gold's been money for thousands of years. Paper/Fiat money has only been money for 40 years. What do I trust more...

  • @TomAllenUK Funny you say that. People at the top of real estate were saying "Buy Homes quick! God is not making any more land!" Something tells me you will regret your words some time soon. When you do That silly Paper/Fiat will have a whole new meaning to you!

  • and he is going to do a better job as PRESIDENT OF THE USA

    RON PAUL 2012

  • The price of gold dropped $100 yesterday.....quite a drop since 1980....

  • Back on Aug 6, 2011 I called the bottom in the stock market based on Peter's Excitement that the US downgrade to AA +! The Usual dollar will collapse,U.S. is DOOMED, and how the judgement day was finally here! LOL In the Schiff I I I I Spirit "I" Would like to point out to you all how "I" Called the recent Bottom in the stock market. "I" am also thinking of starting a site called The "Schiff Bottom indicator" LOL! The same call was made when He shorted Bonds! I will keep you posted! ;P

  • @rdrakken, you are an idiot and a charlatan

  • @rdrakken

I agree with @dxartist, post some proof or STFU! "LOL"

  • I make more money doing what Schiff says NOT to do than those that listen to him...the man that said in 2009 gold will top $5K in 2 years. Oh wait, he is a gold seller, its his job to help wreck the American economy since the dollar dropping increases the value of other currencies...those using the gold standard.

And that isnt even the worst of it, he killed many of his clients in 2008, something he has yet to fully recover from...lol, how when so much has gained massively since then? LOL!

  • @rdrakken

okay..... do you have any proof he killed many of his clients in 2008? If so, put you money where you mouth is and show us the proof.

  • @dxartist It is widely known that many of his clients were hit very severely in 2008 as a result of his investment advice, including himself. He bet that the crash would result in the USD falling, foreign currencies rising, and gold and silver rising. The exact opposite happened. Funds dumped gold (as it is highly liquid) to cover margin calls, and everyone piled into USD treasuries. He was right in the long run, but he would have made more if he had traded correctly in 08 (bought treasuries).

  • @tothemax01

very well aware of it. Heard him say many times. His clients aren't exactly crying now, seeing how they gained back what was lost and then a lot. On that note, I took his advice a few years back and am in better shape financially. Sadly, we are still headed for a crash and it's going to really suck for all of us.

  • @dxartist Why do I need to prove it when The Wall Street Journal and Sidoxia Capital Management did it for me...hell, the "Emperor Schiff has no clothes" article was the most circulated investment article of 2009 and the seeking alpha group lambasted him for years.

But what do you expect out of a man that compares himself to Warren Buffett. A man who has a LONG history of being WAY wrong. watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rhJaVEWAG24

  • The media is always biased against Ron Paul. They keep trying to make it seem like he can't win even though he keeps wining all sorts of different polls or at least getting second place.

    Ron Paul for President 2012!

  • Barron's made me get a 2100 on my SAT. I dont know which side to support....lol

  • This is a hit piece by Barron's to malign Ron Paul, plain and simple. I'm beginning to think that the National Equirer actually has more journalistic integrity than Barron's!

  • I do think it's unpatriotic to exchange US Dollars for gold or gold stocks. We need to get behind our currency and country. We need to work hard each day to earn our dollars, and then spend the dollars we earn to support our free market economy. I would be uncomfortable getting rich striking large speculative bets against the country I love. The US Dollar is strong because the world believes in us. I hope more American's start believing in our country again too!

  • @aurichiemedia Read the constitution for once at least! The only legal tender in the United States is GOLD. So that means it's unpatriotic if you hold any dollars

  • Good talk Peter

  • this is a load of ass-kissing... al sharpton who is more and more likely to be president every time they do this...all is GOOD :) al sharpton 2012 !!!

  • ...Imagine if Mr Bankrupt Toupee, Donald Trump actually invested this shrewdly - he'd be trumpeted to the public as the smartest guy on earth!

however, most people from my country (the UK) wouldn't know Ron Paul if he came up to them and stuffed an original draft of the constitution into their dumbed-down, ignorant, slave face..

with the politicians, and the public we've got, the only solution is emigration to the as yet undiscovered planet, Libertariod :(

  • Nice one Peter for exposing the ridiculous bias that this article represents.

  • Why doesn't the media respect Ron Paul?

  • Austrian economics for the win!

  • As usual Ron Paul gets blasted by pig mainstream media Ron Paul invested right and haters gonna hate

  • The usual BS media spin. Way to unwind it, Peter!

  • Comment removed

  • PETER, like your call in said last show. Mike Malloney would be a good guest on your show, goldmoney you can find his youtube shows. You would like him and you could argue over M2 and M3 and the relationship to a new gold standard. Thanks.

  • Loved the video!

  • You've gone from being a voice of reason to talking out your ass Peter.. You're becoming an embarassment..

  • @sskinner99 how about John Stossel?

  • Watch everyone now pile into these stocks, further skyrocketing the price allowing RP to then sell at the very, very top with a millon % profit!

  • @BellHuey72 if you are actually following the market mining stocks are the way to go right now as costs of production drop and revenues increase. If we keep printing this way Ron Paul will be a billionaire no matter what the single person will do....the only problem is that at that point a piece of bread will cost you a few thousand dollars :P

  • Some of these positions are apparently misunderstood by Mr Schiff and the Barron's reporter, Jim McTague.

I'd encourage others to review the charts -- Mr Paul has correctly held the winners and sold the losers. The gains from 1990 thru 2005 are mediocre to poor. It was the banks which turned up the price of gold in '05.

The real measure of these positions is to see the comparative performance against gold itself, not against equivalent holdings of any instrument based on the US Dollar.

  • We all see what we want to see.

I see Congressman Paul as standing the same position and being on record since at least the early 90's when this portfolio started to take shape.

  • Warren Buffet would probably pay $1B to have lunch with Dr Ron Paul,

  • big peter and little peter right der

    lol

  • Ronny Gets No Respect, No Respect At All, I tell ya'!

  • Silver is up 134.67% from this time last year.

Gold is up 50.95% from this time last year.

Crude oil is up 15.9% from this time last year.

US Wheat is up 5% from this time last year.

  • @drac060 did u calculate those numbers out or is there a site that sums that up nicely?

  • Your RIGHT Peter..They will NEVER say anything! ( Good that is ) It's an ALL-OUT Black out on Ron

  • So Ron Paul puts his money where his mouth is and people criticize him for it. He's damned if he does, he's damned if he doesn't. People will never get it.

  • @razorwings

These people are just jealous that they are didn't get good return in their investment compare to Ron Paul.

  • You're stating an opinion not a fact. Get your facts straight

  • If politicians suddenly became rational, gold would plunge 50% overnight.

    No chance of that.

  • @Solverwiz If they were even more rational, it would probably skyrocket (reinstate gold standard).

  • @Solverwiz politicians are acting perfectly rational... for themselves, that is, not others.

  • Obama was such a disappointment... he's on vacation.

  • Peter, I hope you'll write a good rebuttal to the Barron's story. I don't know if Barron's accepts editorials. Actually it would be great if a big newspaper (WSJ) picks up your editorial instead! ...stupid Barrons

  • No funky music?

  • Ron Paul. So right on the economy. Too bad he caters to the religious nuts.

  • @n3rdm4n I'm not religious, but I don't think that people who have faith are "nuts." Ron isn't catering to anyone. He thinks that abortion should be a state issue. He is opposed to abortion out of conviction, not for political reasons. If he were really catering his views to social conservatives, he wouldn't be advocating ending the drug war and civil unions for gays.

  • @joepeeler34 In opposing legal abortion, you're opposing the control of a person over their own body. This doesn't sound very libertarian to me. He also mentioned in a recent speech that life and liberty come from "our creator." What's that about?

  • @n3rdm4n Where did you get that I opposed abortion rights? My point is that he isn't "catering" to anyone, and everyone who disagrees with you isn't a "nut." There are just as many people who claim that you are a nut for your economic views. It's not a refutation of anything.

He's not catering to anyone when mentioning "our creator." He is religious. He's not faking it. Why would you assume that all politicians are non-religious? It's only catering when the politician is faking belief.

  • @n3rdm4n caters to the religious nuts? And why is that sad? no one knows if there is any God or not. And how is this relevant?

  • @larsiemannen Because religious nuts want to force their beliefs down other peoples' throats, which is kind of anti-liberty. Maybe he's just doing it to get votes he needs, IDK, but he's so honest about everything else, and this makes me doubt him.

  • @n3rdm4n The Funny stuff is that atheists or muslims are even worse, in general, to force stuff upon it's people. And many christians are not aware of it, but bible preaches not hardcore govt. at all. Ron Paul is a 'religious nut', but he want no taxes, nor regulations the private sector.

  • @larsiemannen No atheists have come up to my door to talk about good news or whatever. Anyway, RP is right on the economics and part of the moral stuff. He's just wrong about some stuff that makes him look like a bit of a nutter.

  • @n3rdm4n Well, on the bright side people walk up and talk straight with you. I don't see this only but a strawmen! Atheists usually tend to force stuff legally instead. His moral is also the director of the economic sense. The 10 commandments are accordingly after austrian economics more or less

  • @larsiemannen A moral that can tell you that freedom is good AND can tell you that forcing a woman to do something with her BODY that she doesn't want to is inconsistent at best. The only thing atheists have ever forced me to do, from time to time, is accept facts I didn't like. Lastly, how does "You shall not have any other gods" before me apply to economics? And that's just commandment 1.

  • @n3rdm4n Do your research!

  • @21stCenturyEconomy I did, and when people start tossing about a "creator" in their speeches, well, it kind of makes me think they have some sort of religious agenda. Religious agendas should be kept in church and sermons, not in discourse and public office.

  • @n3rdm4n You obviously never studied the age of enlightenment or Natural Law as espoused in the Declaration of Independence. You have no political understanding to start consulting people in the art of politics.

  • @Superlibertytv I'm not consulting anyone about anything. I'm commenting that because of what RP says, he comes accross as a religious nut.

  • @n3rdm4n see you didnt do any research then! He believes in the creator just like all other presidents in the past... He also believes in the constitution than there it says that congress shall write no law(when it comes to Religion). so you see he has never wannet to inforce his believes on yo and I! for example: he doesnt belive in gays getting married but also he doesnt think its the governments job to decide who gets married who doesnt. Do your research and come back

  • The average joe wont be wise to this kind of propaganda. So far Ron Paul is the only candidate that has openly stated that he wont play ball with the bankers or the fed. We need to call these writers, anchors, politicians on their bullshit and make sure that as many people as possible get the truth about this man. I will spread this and you all should too. Keep fighting the good fight Peter.

  • Ron Paul should make a campaign commercial bragging about his financial investments, compared to his competition.

  • @11mac11s Not exactly... But it is white men that are the likeliest to hand their soul over to the devil, and then worship him, and do all his evil bidding for him... Because white men are the likliest to to be materialistic and hedonistic.

  • @christopher19894 unlike rappers.

  • It's funny how someone would take a situation where credit should be given to someone for making a wise investment, and turn it into a smear piece. Libelous sluts

  • HAHAHAHAHA, that's Ron Paul laughing all the way to the bank!!!!

  • Get used to the negative attacks on RP, the media went from ignoring him to now trashing him after they looked foolish by ignoring him after much success in the polls.

  • If you are intersted in some video clips such as the NEWS MEDIA that has ignored Ron Paul then feel free to come to my USAWeThePeople channel & watch the main video. Plus if you are a true Patriot & fan of Ron Paul then We The People should stand together Friend each pass the message on. Make Friends,Links Video's as we are one We The People. Freedom!

  • I'M SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE LYING ABOUT RON PAUL!!!

    SICK AND TIRED OF IT!!

  • Some of these attacks on Ron Paul are so ridiculous but what kills me is knowing some dumb brainless drones probably read this crap and fall for these weak attacks.

  • I sent this video link to Jim McTague: jim.mctague@barrons.com

  • To call him unpatriotic because of his investment is reprehensible. Patriotism is fighting for liberty, not standing hip to hip with the government. That a totalitarian can hijack a word and influence people so easily through demagoguery is frightening.

  • @atkinsoniv Well today in american being patriotic to these morons is accepting w/e bullshit the government does because its for the greater good. You cant even criticize the military.

  • @lilsm555 MILITARY? ... I THOUGHT OUR WHOLE MILITARY BECAME A PRIVATE SECURITY COMPANY OF OFFSHORE INTERESTS..... DO WE EVEN HAVE A MILITARY THAT LOOKS FOR THE INTERESTS OF THE US PEOPLE ANMORE?

  • It's not like Ron Paul has any power in the House. Just because he understands economics, we should punish him. People are fucking stupid.

  • ben bernanke would get a migraine hearing this

  • the overall negative slant on Ron Paul proves a media conspiracy. Beyond any doubt.

  • What Ron does not have faith in, is that his colleagues will do the right thing. I don't blame him one bit.

  • The propaganda machine in on full blast for Ron Paul. Just wait till the election is closer, can't wait to see the kind of shit they make up.

  • If Ron is a "stopped clock" then the other candidates are broken clocks.

  • I understand that Ron Paul started buying bullion once it was legal in the U.S. again back when it was $35/oz.

  • Holy snap! 2000%? Damn my man Dr. Paul rolling in the dough or rather the metal. These earnings rival my other idol Jim Rogers. No wonder Ron smiles all the time.

  • Gee whiz.... Ron has no Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi "green stocks" in his portfolio?

  • it only looks like ron paul is making money, when, in fact, he is running as fast as he can to stand still, with his gold investments. it only looks like he is making money off of gold, because it is being compaired to fiat currency of a central bank that loses value as more and more debt is aquired.

  • Watch this video i found on the net explaining how stupid Americans are and how they suck in intelligent ppl

    wimp.com/kakusecret/

  • ron paul is putting his money where his mouth is.

  • he was betting in favor of liberty. in a libertarian society, gold is usually the main standard for money.

  • Not only is Ron Paul the most qualified man for the president of the united states, but he's the most qualified asset manager. Ron Paul is my homeboy! And Peter ROCKS (again) for completely dismantling the Barron's article.

  • Peter Schiff will be speaking at Liberty Fest NYC on September 10th. Check out the video promo on our channel!

  • i just more gold eagles thanks barrons for keeping it cheap oh and msm.

to all gold haters thankyou love you .i was buying at 800 and if you morons wke up id be paying 5000 thanks yea i cant eat it but i can buy a new house hahahahahahah remmeber dont buy gold its bad for you and good for me hahahah

  • presstitutes...

  • LOL I love how Peter Schiff destroys the fool that wrote that article demonizing Ron Paul as voting in his own self interest!

    HAHA!

  • Also, Jesse Ventura - Secretary of Defense

  • Just more propaganda to keep Ron Paul out of the running, but the people will decide otherwise. GO RON!

  • Its so sad that a lot of people will read that hit piece against Ron Paul and assume its true. And theres a lot of Ron Paul haters that will happily take anything they hear thats negative and run with it.

Plus plenty without a brain, who cant read something and see the bullshit within it eg, gold crashed in 08 yet its over double that today, and their inabilty for critical thought wont let them see it yet the answers are in frint of their faces!

  • I want Ron Paul to be my portfolio manager

  • hilarious. These people who write these articles, how do they sleep at night? They know what they are doing.

  • @Equity213 They sleep at night with their hand down their pants :) Attached to that hand should be pistol aimed at their vaginas...

  • IVE BEEN BUYING A LOT OF GROCERIES AND GAS AND THEY TOO HAVE BEEN GOING UP.....Sir, here is what you have to realize, Ron Paul has been warning us of many things for many years especially the economy and housing collapse. Sir, how many people would have NOT bought homes if they only listened to Ron Paul. I wonder how many people would have bought GOLDfor the past 12 years if they had listened to Ron Paul ? Maybe what you are saying is more reason why we should let Ron Paul lead us...to Success

  • Let's not kid ourselves, RP has cash in case they decide to follow a strong dollar policy.

  • "Ron Paul for president... Gary Johnson for V.P..... Peter Schiff for treasurer... Nuff' said!"

    --------------------------

Nope, not enough said -- Judge Andrew Napolitano for Attorney General

  • @graveseeker1 Can't stop there. We have to replace the Supreme Court Justice's with people that have actually read the Constitution. SCOTUS wouldn't know the Constitution if we rolled it up and beat them over the head with it.

  • @graveseeker1 Good choices, but we need a place for Jesse Ventura don`t you thing? Any suggestions?

  • @graveseeker1 who is Gary Johnson?

  • @bykashka75 gary johnson is fomer 2 term governor of new mexico- a 2 to 1 democrat state where he ran and won as a republican. he vetoed something like 700 bills and got the budget in line. read up on his record. he's a great libertarian.

  • @ftwbk And needs to drop out and endorse Ron Paul.
