Hey Steve,Im testing winter mix to,Prestone de-icer for windshields will boil over like yours but stops after a while and kicks ass for gas strength and like a hose for bubbles on 9 amps and tap water and 1/8 tsp of Roebic, best mix i have found yet,the foam will stop and become a great mix.
I was wondering if you have seen the video from sm0key40 about a solution for the use of a hydrogen generator during the winter? The video is called, Hydrogen electrolyte solution for Winter.
Glycol seems to conduct electricity but that was previously used antifreeze that I used. I don't know how much rust or iron was dissolved in the liquid. Have not done tests on new antifreeze. Glycol is a relative of alcohol if I'm not mistaken. Keep away from children and animals
Watching your videos I noticed that you are using sodium hydroxide. Sodium hydroxide is a dangerous chemical I would not recommend it to be used in any automobile or engine because of its extreme corrosive property that will damage aluminum engine parts. Take a piece of any aluminum drop it inside sodium hydroxide and watch it get eaten away. I recommend everyone not to use dangerous chemicals. Go to and watch my videos on YouTube and type in pjckac1
I am now in the process of using a combination of different safe electrolytes as you will see in my video's. I am right now developing a new process with my hydrogen oxygen machine for the automobile because winter is coming and what you see on my videos I have removed for my car and rearranging and adding new improved items. I
I am at this present moment running a O2 sensor box that is controlling two O2 sensors and just using the electronic box I went from 32 miles to a gallon to 38 or 39 per gallon with out any HHO gas added. I am impressed with the electronic O2 sensor box and doing many test before I do a video to document it actually works using the O2 sensor box.
NaOh is only dangerous if you misuse or abuse it. When used in a cell and combined with a good bubbler, there is no need to worry about causing damage to the ICE.
If you "recommend everyone to not use dangerous chemicals", then you should probably not have a car; due to the gasoline, oil, antifreeze, break fluid, lead/acid battery, etc = they are all dangerous.
Again, if use the proper safety precautions and devices, there is no need for concern, but thats just my 2 cents.
Hello again Steve.I would like to point a couple facts associated with electrolyse.(1) will clean water (2)add different cemmericals will give hho plus others gases some very toxic(3)adding alcohol will lower the energy factor of hho, also lookup how diesel is made from vegi oil this should help you understand what has happened to the alcolol(two substance together, catalic reaction, separation).Hopfully a little helpRegards from U.K.
Couldn't you just use a heat strip from Home Depot. The kind for a garden hose. You could wrap only the bottom (and insulate it) leaving the top for viewing. Depending on where you live, you may get away with just plugging it in at night.
I have used isopropyl alcohol and it has stayed clear after being in the freezer down to 0 degrees. Mine did get slushy like yours. I still have to test it in a cell.
Be VERY careful with a solution of 100% acohol - it gives off vapors and the more it heats up the more it acts like a bomb waiting to explode.
Even with denatured alcohol I had a minor explosion that blew out the top of my open cell (just glad is was open cause if it was sealed it would have exploded like a grenade).
hay steve, i seen somewhere someone used a schoch 3m scouring pad inside the top of the cell to stop the foam from exiting by kinda popping the foam turning it into more gas. keep up the good work
Hi Steve, Would it be possible to run a bubbler with a return line? I suppose the bubbler would have to be rather large for the foam to settle. Your vids are great. Could you do some on "basic how to hook up meters for amps and volts"? I am new at this and am having a hard time setting my meters up for readings.
Hay Steve nice work hay I found that the more koh I put into the cell the more it whats to foam. I use a PWM on the Stinger and it helps cut down on the foam a lot. But if I run it with out the PWM I have to cut back even more on the KOH. Being you have to add so much more sodium hydroxide to get your amps back up this may come into play just a though.
maybe "Calcium Chloride"would work ?

is bleach a good winterizing agent to add to your electrolyte Re: It contains sodium hypochlorite which has electrolyte properties

so many things to try - too bad I'm not independently wealthy (yet).

yea I just watched that vid and am thinking of doing a vid using his formula. Not sure what to think, until I give it a try.
thanks for the tip

a metal fine screen on the inside 2 inches below the lid should stop foam problem.

yep, I have seen other vids where people have leaned out their vehicles and gotten an mpg increase on that alone.
Tho the mechanics I have talked to said that running a vehicle too lean can damage your ICE, so hydroxy should be used (or someother fuel booster).
when you post a vid on this, let me know.

When you do, let me know and I might test it out your solution.

Steve that was some pretty nasty looking stuff. What about using antifreeze solution?

I might try that later on; I have another solution I am going to try so stay tuned.

I havent heard of a heat strip, but I will check into that. Hopefully it works off dc power.
THanks a lot.

gotta respect this stuff or bad stuff can happen.

I was using 20% isopropyl alcohol, distilled water and NaOH. I will be testing it is the cell soon.
Thanks.

perhaps a return line, but that seems like too much work for me right now (lazy).
as for meter readings, I'll see if I can do a quick vid later on.\

Packing screen door mesh into the top of your cell works well to keep the foam in your system.
PainlessHHO 3 years ago
it might work, but that sure was a lot of electrolyte it displaced - not sure it would be a 100% fix.
:)
AlmostHydrogen 3 years ago
Another idea, I have read that adding a tiny amount of diesel fuel to your electrolyte will change the surface tension and prevent foaming.
