  • THANK U!

  • GET A MAC!

  • can someone please tell me why i dont have the "extract" option in "filter"...plz...

  • @SoyInmortal1 it turns out you have to download extrac and add it to photoshop through the plugg in files. There are videos that I came across on how to download extract. Check them out.

  • @SoyInmortal1 i have a video about that... i can translate it for you if you want, because i think you don't speak german ;)

  • Why not just use a mask and lower the saturation. A lot faster.

  • you could always just select it with a selection tool, maybe give it a little feather, clcik select inverse and turn the background black and white. Or use a layer with black and white conversion settings and use a layer mask to deselect the ares you want colored, thus only opening one file. Same result tought pretty much

  • <3 this.

  • i think you can also select the object you want to keep coloured then go to Select -- inverse - then click image--- grayscale

  • but ehm when i wanna use the wind effects on a text.... some tools are "blocked" or grey :S i have windows 7 home premium 32 bit

  • why i dont have extract in my adobe cs4

    pls reply very-very-very fast

  • hey thanks your video really helped but you can just use the quick selection tool then select inverse and click on the black and white adjustment on the right hand side of the screen it takes like half the time and is easier

  • how do you even upload a picture???????

  • @iwg81 LOL oh boy...

  • Hey Guys!

When I click on the "selecting tool" i don't have the square so i can't change the size...

    Any solution? =)

  • You can download the plugin

  • you are not using adobe CS4. because CS4 does not have an "extract" filter

  • You can get an extract plug-in for CS4 i can't remember where I got it but it is possible :)

  • Hi! Does anybody know how do I change a grayscale picture to a single-color-scale picture? I mean I have a temperature map with a legend, all in grayscale, and I wanna transform it using only red shades....? Please? Help....I tried using channels but I can't figure it out....:(

  • @raisavm

not sure if this will help or not but if you already did (Image/Adjustments/black&white)

then i believe if you hit ctrl+u or (Image/adj/hue&saturation) and then click on the COLORIZE box and adjust the HUE to the color you want.

Then tweak the saturation to get the desired effect.

Side note I think you can skip changing it to black and white in the first place if you just use the colorize check box under Hue/Saturation adjustment.

  • God, you're a genius!

Although it comes a bit late (I already struggled with the image using selections and coloring the areas manually with different shades), your tip is great and it's exactly what I needed: to use the colorize box - I didn't know about it before...Million thanks, I'll use it next time when I have something similar!
