Maybe he was friends with the white guy and they joke around like that. Its so funny to see so many white folks on Beale nowadays when back in its heyday, they wouldn't be found dead near Beale. Beale was where blacks were confined to, how greats like Bessie Smith and W.C Handy honed their phenomenal blues skills. I think that our forefathers would be happy to see us all drunk together, but outraged at the exploitation of the places down there
beale st. was nice when i went there yrs. ago as a teen but it was because of the blantant racism that i left. the black ppl in memphis is so racist and i couldnt take it. all 4 of my high school yrs was spent in torment because i was different from them. and i am a black person writing this. so i took my californian butt back to where i belong: LA!!! WESSSSS'SIIIIDDDDDEEEE!!!!!
