you're trying too hard,this is a mockery, close but not close enough. and my dad was from felmingham. which for some reason he pronounced 'Fellin-gim'
Tats offensive that im a norfolk lass born n bred we DO NOT speak like that!! -.- i still live in norfolk probly one of the countys that aint built up and still has loads of countryside .
know a relatively young bloke (23 or 24). if you recorded his speech and then went to the archival sound recordings and heard some retired farm labourer born in 1870's speak (back in the 1950's)... YOU WOULDN'T KNOW WHICH ONE WAS WHICH. no joke.
Old people in Norfolk speak like this, people under the age of 40 don't.. my grand parents do and when you walk around morrisons you hear the older people talking like this
I live in norfolk and have been to most parts in norfolk and no one actually speaks like this... its a stereotype thats not true. Most of the people on norfolk speak perfectly fine even if talking to someone not from norfolk they can all understand us very well.
this is the worst impression I have ever heard. you sound like two idiots nothing like Norfolk people. yes I am from Norfolk and know how drewly it can sound- but guys this is shit!
Agree with you. Live here in the sticks and this is the worst impression I've ever heard. Sound like two Irish boys trying to impersonate a couple of jordies.
I have lived in Norfolk for ten years and I still can't understand half of them! I do use the word PARDON an awful lot. I thought that they were retarded when I first moved here and I swear I am not being rude, it's the truth! Sometimes I have to listen for a few minutes before I realise their speaking english....or at least their version of it.

This is a load of old bollocks because it isn't being done by native Norfolk speakers , it is " Furriners " trying to imitate it and not succeeding .
And I know 'cos I live hair and can do it !

"the real way they speak in Norfolk" yes if you have a speech impediment and a slight learning difficulty

THis si rather exaggerated.
People type in all different ways in Norfolk but there are some things which people pick up on a bit.

I assume Down t the farm is a typo, and not meant to respresent the clipped T sound of the yorkshire accent down t' mill and so forth?
Reasonable approximation of the dialect.
TheBoyFromNorfolk 10 months ago
@TheBoyFromNorfolk
Oh no it's not supposed to be as in "t'mill" just like "Tu" instead of to.
