Rick Danko is the only one who could do this song but I have to say, this is so very nice. I'll always be in love with Rick Danko for way to many reasons.
@myahalex I saw Rick Danko performing at a small bar in New Jersey only a couple of years before his passing. Just him and a guitar, I was watching from ten feet away. One of those things you just never forget.
This is a fantastic cover by the wonderful THE BAND done by the AMazing My Morning Jacket - who do have Outstanding Original songs- look them up- wow- and joined by Eddie the man- he goes around to festivals with a load of tambourines and inserts himself onstage with bands he likes. But please- who keeps feeding his Tambourine habit? I am pretty sure he just damaged two and then someone threw him another one? Bunch of enablers.
this is incredible the amount of musical genious in this video is nuts! not only are they covering a band song, but its my morning jacket and the big pimpin Eddie Vedder This is all just music greatness and yes mikesome 13 MMJs originals kick ass!
I might have to start listening to these guys if they can pull of a cover like this! Gotta love Rick Danko, and gotta love that folks around today still appreciate him. Are these guys' originals any good?

Ugh. The singer for MMJ is horrible on this! He fucks it up, Rick would NOT be smiling down on them. There's no passion in his voice, it's so mechanical.
And mine too..one of the most emotionally and thought evoking songs I ever heard..ya dig a little deeper into the beautiful vocal and who's behind it and the song kinda eats through to your soul big time.
Very nice, doin' it up right. Not fuckin' around with the arrangement. None of this trying to improve it by putting their own spin on it. Good job.

One of the most beautiful, most heartbreaking tunes ever written.
