  • a hubba bubba.....lol love it

  • A Fan 4 Life From East St. Louis, IL!What a classic!

  • It's because of Ms. Baker that a young brother was so far ahead of the curve with the ladies as a precocious, wet-behind-the-ears little young buck. Anita gave me the courage to write those corny ass letters, send flowers and Teddy bears to so-and-so's homeroom way back when, and speak with extra base in my voice when the pretty young things could be bothered to call after being accosted by my relentless persistence. Thanks Anita, for helping me get all that booty that surely I didn't deserve.

  • good songs never die!!!! they are always there whenever you need to hear them!

  • yo i loved her since i was 5 yrs old now im 27 anita baker music never gets old with me

  • Wow...it's just a shadow behind her but 3:05 / 5:14 shows just how even More beautiful she'd be with long hair! but it's totally obvious why she's always kept it short...like Halle Berry, Anita set the standard for how disgustingly gorgeous and sexy a short hairstyle can be!

  • i love when anita scats.

  • There's a few singers in the world that have a unique "tonal" quality to their voice...Anita's one of them along with Dionne Warwick, Roberta Flack...just to name a few. When you hear a song where they're featured instantly you know its them~~~

  • Been this my shit!

  • U kno Anita got that cum-bac!

  • im 3o years young and all throught my childhood we listened to the same thing our parents listened to back then we didnt have a lot a loud rap music to choose from and i thank god for artist like anita and even though i love my hip hop it aint nuthin like the silky voice of my wifey anita to keep the mood nice and calm

  • i sooooooo agree with your first line. because of this up bringing i have a fond appreciation for country(oldies) as well. Anita B. is the bomb! I love that deep sultry sound.

  • This song reminds me of my 21st birthday.

  • the truth she is still..

  • the smooth sultryness that this woman posesses is absolutely unbelievable...

  • Anita shes has that real singing voice i love her style of Jazz and Soul she had a CD out in 2004 it was called my eveything

  • Anita is a lovely lady with a talentive soulful voice. She is my favorite singer and no can sing like her if they try. I love all her songs. This one is my favorite song.

  • Im 36 yrs old and this is without a doubt the best r&b album ever made since i have been on earth. There has been some great albums but none just packed with song after song. She is the best.

  • I`m 37 and I do believe "Rapture" is the best R&B album of my era. It`s actually the first R&B Lp that I bought.I bought it in 88` even though the album came out in 86`. It`s timeless and should be a household staple very much the way Michael Jackson`s "Thriller" had become.

  • I agree with you sort of. Lets remember that Thriller was something never heard of. This is the best piece of music ever assembled in any genre of music. Evryone who listened to music, rock, country, pop, etc bought this album where as Rapture did its thing for r&b and jazz. DOnt get me wrong I think both albums were greatly made but if you add the videos, the award shows, motown 25, the pepsi commercials and a whole lot of other stuff. There is no comparison.

  • Well I certainly wouldn`t compare it to "Thriller" as far as how groundbreaking "Thriller" was. I was just was saying as far as the category of music that this album is in which I would place under smooth jazz, it should be in every household for those who appreciate that style of music."Thriller" is in a league of it`s own musically and lyrically. There `s nothing typical about that album. As far as "Rapture" it is a "can`t go wrong " album when you are entertaining guests even today.

  • "Thriller" was more of a pop/R&B joint while "Rapture" was pure 80's R&B. That being said "Rapture" was probably her best work and one of the best R&B albums of the last 20-25 years and this is probably my favorite songs from that album. I'm only 32, but my mother used to play this album all the time when I was a kid. Now that I'm older, I grown to really appreciated and really love this album.

  • I totally agree.

  • Wow.. It is something about this song that always has me on cloud nine.. I love it so much. It just has so much truth and passion!!N i can honestly say that i am young and i am a huge fan of hers. I even went 2 her concert when i was like 15!!

  • I love this song.

  • i miss music like this. beautiful song by anita baker.

  • One of the sassiest and sweetest voices in music. Her tone reminds me of the incredible jazz singer Sarah Vaughan. Love it to the fullest!

  • oh no 1:21 is her best photo.... sexy

  • my fav anita song.... a hubba bubba. love it.

  • anita baker is the best, one of my favs

  • I love this song. I love the message. My favorite lines:

    I think you take forgranted,

    I'll always be here.

    Just because I love you,

    it doesn't mean I won't disappear.

They don't make R&B like this anymore.

  • Those words are one of my most precious feelings that has ever been revealed, it happens and somehow or somewhere they will become true to life..thanks for sharing life's most simplest pleasures.."Love"

  • I love that part too!!! Sometimes you gotta let em know, hey I love you boo, but don't get it twisted! You snooze, you lose daddy!

  • Anita is my gurl

  • Love Love Love this woman... I am 4ever indebted to my father 4 introducing me to great artists like her when i was a child.

  • I just heard R Kelly got acquitted today. Crazy.

  • Definitely my favorite female R&B singer. Anita used to sing me to sleep a many of nights when I was in the Navy out at sea. She had album out before this one which was good and also was on a song in which she was featured with Chapter 8. Such a beautiful voice. Hopefully she will go back to her roots of Gospel and Praise GOD.

  • Anyone ever hear the upbeat remix of this song done by Kim English? Some may not like it, but Its very lovely to me, the title is "Been So Long Wamdue Remix" you may not be able to find it on youtube, but somewhere else.

    I love Anita.

  • if you love this, than u gotta check out the cover tamia did to this song on the steve harvey show... (all parts are good but....)look up part 3... she kills it.... LITERALLY...

  • Hands down the r&b album of my 35year history on earth. I was about 14 when this album came out and it was the best and still the best. If i was on stuck an island and to choose a cd to listen to this would be it. Every song the best!!!

  • This is definitely one of my faves along with Angel, and Giving You the Best that I've got!!

  • RAPTURE had to be the best album i've ever heard from an artist, there wasn't a bad song on the whole thing.

  • Timeless, the whole of this Rapture album was made to make love to !

  • Gosh this is an amazing song! Her voice is incredible! Where have all the classy singers gone?

  • Frankly if they were to perform together, I believe this woman would sing Patti, Aretha, and anyone else who dared compete up under the stage and through the foundation....talent like this is bred in a church and introduced to the world.....by the way does anyone know who posted or what happened to the live version of this song that was on here not too long ago...if you do please post it or send that person a request to reinstate it

  • she is killin then scats damn

  • Mary did part of the scatting towards the end of this song when she performed "Love No Limit" on VH1 Storytellers and she NAILED it, she sounded EXACTLY like her.

  • Anita Baker and I have the same vocal quality. We are Alto/Contralto range. I love and am most comfortable doing her music. She's an awesome songwriter, her lyrics are beautiful, they tell a great story. She's an incredible talent!! This song is my favorite because of the scatting. It makes for a nice ending and Anita does it as only she can do.

  • Teh scatting takes this song from great to astronomical. Anita and Al Jarreau are two of my favorite scatters.

  • Amen!!!! We know good music - don't we?

  • You got that right!

  • its a very nice song

  • she was sooooo beautiful when she was younger..

  • I LOVE this song all of Anita songs but to show her pics while she is singing is the bomb!!!
