you know, know that i hear it, i dont think its on the offical soundtrack CD for the original 80s movie, kind annoying as this was wanna of my favourite scenes. Isnt even on it as a hidden track or anything. Go figure
I noticed that there are several songs that were not on the original 86 soundtrack and the 25th Ann. Where can I get copies of Pursuit Coronation and Evil Decepticon Theme?
I think visually it was! The commentary on the UK DVD says that the script says its Cyclonus, and that is Cyclonus's voice...but the animators seemed to have gotten it wrong. I remember an episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles where in one shot Leonardo spoke with Michaelangelo's voice and dialogue!.
@Mercenary78 it's actually Cyclonus who says that line...as with his earlier "you want me to gut Ultra Magnus?", the continuty makes it look like Scourge is talking!
You know, I try to feign ignorance about Transformers: the Movie, just because it's just on the edge of being a little too geeky for me to pull off being obsessed about without offering a caveat, but I would totally agree with Arithon's comments; DiCola's score was great. I mean 3:15 to 3:50 is epic.
Every single last bit of music that Vince DiCola made for this movie was amazing. The man really pushed the envelope for a children's cartoon movie. I know ever since I was a kid I loved the music, and I loved the fact that when the series changed after the movie they used some of Vince's music. Because as far as I'm concerned Vince's music sounds like Transformers and that entire universe. It's just perfect.
@LordArithon I happen to agree with you. I debated posting this cuz I don't want to seem the troll.
But minutes before I read your post here, I had just got done watching a group of vids made by youtuber, SrVnDaNk. I was looking for DiCola's score on youtube & ran into his reinterpretation.
He took the time to blanket the score & tracks w/ White Zombie, Metallica, rap, etc. because he believes the orig. tracks are too cheesy.
@Tsujanryo Well, anyone is open to have their own interpretation to the music, and if the guy feels Vince's music is cheesy that's fine. But when it comes down to it from a pure musical and feeling stand point Vince's music is full of talent and undeniably emotional.
@LordArithon I love your comment, but RESPECTFULLY disagree about the last part about Vince's soundtrack sounding like Transformers and that entire universe ONLY because I (very unfortunately) did not see this film as a kid. I DID however, watch Rocky 4 about 2,836 times. To me, Vince's music will always sound like Rocky 4 and that entire universe. To me the Transformers soundtrack is the extended Rocky 4 soundtrack. Either way, I still thumbed up your comment. Rock on!!
@tylerdurden3891 Yeah totally understandable. I was either 5 or had just turned 6 when this movie came out, and it blew my mind for many different reasons of course. As for Rocky I agree with you, he was perfect for Rocky 4, and made a contribution to that universe with his music that made it completely amazing. And yes the 2 soundtracks were similar in ways, and yes I seen both movies as a kid in the theater. I loved both.
@LordArithon Damn you're lucky. I was born in 1984 so I never got the chance to see either in theaters. Oh what I wouldn't give to have been born 10-12 years earlier so that I could've experienced and appreciated the 80's a little more.
@LordArithon First movie I can remember seeing I was 6 as well, it was the first Ninja Turtles movie. I can vaguely remember Batman and Honey I shrunk the kids the year before. And for some reason i can still remember alice in wonderland and sleeping beauty some time before that, but those are older movies that must've been re-released at the time.
