  • LOL.

  • duuude

  • who's in Psyche class? watch this>>>>>"Charly (1968) Part 1/11"......................anyone studying psychology should watch it.

  • Death to the dictator

  • @youazadi you said it!

  • Hopefully in near future u would be very welcome to visit ur home again.

  • I am not muslim but I like the way women are treated there...respect and oppression.

  • Being an American I love how WE treat our women here in the USA... we treat them as sex objects and eye candies wherever we go regardless of her age... and although I don't support a government enforced law that forces women to dress modest (in Iran), however I support the women making this decision. And plus, countries like Iran are on the rise while America drowns from bankruptcies, unemployment, degrading currency, and corruption in her DEMOCRACY... wake up and read... the media controls you!

  • Iranians are so used to the situation that it seems very normal--and you won't even realize the suppresing sexism against women until you've lived elsewhere for a few years. The shopkeeper, the butcher, the ice cream boy all frown at a woman or more often than not eat her up with their sleezy eyes. Women aren't taken as seriously in ordinary life as men are and i know all these statistics and girls taking all the jobs, etc.,it is the attitude of people that hasn't changed.

  • yeah America was the same way not too long ago... lets see, do we remember how we overthrew Iran's FIRST DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED leader in 1953 over oil? Oh no, that has to be false because the media doesn't tell me so... Iran is modernizing rapidly and too bad while we Americans moan and bash these young and fast growing nations, our own is turning into a quicksand pit which promises nothing BUT death .

  • incoherent respnose- you'll have to fix your grammar/ diction, etc.

also, i did not assert anything about 'democracy' in iran- which is basically a joke, as all the qualified candidates are non-secular extremist ti begin with.

What I was saying was about the culture of the country- the sexist attitudes of the men and even women towards themselves in the society which goes by unnoticed because they are so used to it.

  • I really don't use proper grammer online because all I'm trying to do is get my thoughts across, and quite frankly, I don't think it is needed in simple discussions like this. So please pardon me if my grammar may be out of line.

  • You made a great point there, but if you look at America back in history it wasn't much different in her early years. Iran is growing rapidly and a bigger percentage of women attend the universities there. If it is possible to establish a secular government in Iran, modernization wouldn't take long. Especially knowing the limitless wonders and tactics of persuasion and public attitude ensured by a free press, technology and a changing society.

  • So are you saying that the American election system and the "culture" of America is any better? Quite frankly, I think preaching Jihad is the same thing as preaching crusading and the American election system is utter garbage. Here in canada our electoral ballot has 3-4 choices and a circle to write an X in. Simple, easy, and everyone can do it without any "confusion".

  • May be you should read a book or two (not that Azar Nafisi's propaganda) on Iran's contemporary sociology. Then you would have realized that 76% of the university population if Iran today are women. I would hardly call that isolation.

  • As a person who has lived in Iran all his life I am insulted by your comment. The author of the above mentioned book Azar Nafisi is a good family friend and I am ashamed of having to admit this.

  • I am reading ' Reading Lolita In Tehran' and wanted to see first hand the places mentioned in the book. Bizarro that women have to live in such isolation. I would go nuts if I lived there. Holy Cow.

  • She had exaggerated to the very extreme. I think she had depicted a twisted view of Iran giving way to immature opinions like that of yours. If she doesnt like Iran she can stay in the US, but she has no right depicting Iran in such a way as if it is like that for all women!!! Iran is a beautiful modern country where women, though not enjoying the same freedom as the ones in the West are treated much more equally than the neighboring countries. WOMEN ARE IN ISOLATION!!!!

  • I read that book last year. It's a bit boring at times. (not a manly read) lol
