  • Lmao @ all those kiddies bringing up GTR....

    Just LMAO!

  • @Rockboy725 Lol yeah

  • Amazing how British Top Gear hates the Viper.

  • badass ride ... whats up with all the haters and idiots comparing Viper and GTR ? go compare a apple and orange lol

  • Holy shit!!!! that fast full weight?? there really is not replacement huh? lol

  • Full weight, still has cold A/C as I'm told lol.

  • you know nothing except what you want

  • Not a lost art. He is shifting soo fast he is probably just breezing off the gas a tiny bit to keep it off the limiter or may even be leaving it floored. Hard to tell. The difference is in the old days, engines would rev above the optimum shift point and would rev slow enough to not blow up in the short time the clutch is in. Not so anymore with redline shifts and rev limiters.

  • waste of time, aren't Vipers sports cars?

  • Yes... and Drag racing is a sport.

  • i hate to say it but so is mudd-boggin

  • Jim Oddy's Corvette can run a 6.07.

  • Jim Oddys corvette isnt even a corvette, its a race car with a corvette name bag, its a completely different chassis, engine, transmission etc. This is a viper from top to bottom it is a street car, full weight, street legal, independent rear suspension, six speed manual, unlike Jim Oddys race car which is track only, solid rear axle, clutchless tranny etc

  • That vipers a monster!!MY favorite. This will smoke any street legal car.

  • But yeah...the new Viper ACR crushes the new ZR-1 and the Heffner Viper eats anything you put against it

  • And you forget alot of these new technologies you talk about americans came up with 40-50 years ago. Such as tiptronic, semi automatic clutchless manuals like paddle shifters. Once again my friend you need to realize american car technology has been up there with japanese and european for some time now.

  • As for catching up fast you fail to realize that american car companies have owned japanese and european car companies for some time. Ford owns, volvo, jaguar, aston martin (until earlier this year), Mazda. GM owns 40% of FIAT who owns ferrari, opel, vauxhall, suzuki, saab etc etc.

  • Um no the GT series viper had 800HP but in its domination of Le Mans it was restricted from being a full prep race car 800hp/850torq 10 throttle bodies tube chassis 2400lb to a production 3200lb, 520hp/540torq, production chassis and it still won from 2000-2002.

  • i thought the GTS-R that ran @ Le Mans had 650hp

  • wait a minute morethanfast u dont even know wat i do for a living... i didnt say that u didnt know your cars but u must admit everything u had for him he countered it and perfectly defended the VIPER

  • I never said it wasnt a world class track I just said it caters to a different type of car. As for lagging in the cornering, you do realize the viper and C6-R have dominated Le Mans since 1996. As for corning ability the new ACR pulls 1.5Gs and has 1000lbs of downforce at 150mph compared to the enzos 1.05Gs thats not lacking cornering ability.

  • On a track like VIR which is a tight technical course cars is where the viper, corvette, CGT are better suited with tight twistes, elevation changes, longer straights it takes into account braking, handling and acceleration not carrying speeds.

  • Those numbers you see listed there are run by professional drivers all expect for the GTS. As well the nurburgring is a track where small HP cars reign its about carrying speeds through turns with long sweeping turns the new skyline GTR ran a 7:38 at 3800lb and 450hp that should tell you something.

  • Z06 ran 3:01.2

Im looking for the f430 and gallardo times.

  • cant see what times those times are in magazines, Ill give you the GT is faster but the z06 isnt faster then the viper not on a track the viper out handles the z06 anyday of the week. Theres no need for me to lie

    Car and driver at VIR

    Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe, 3:01.6

    Lotus Elise (US spec), 3:09.2

    BMW M6, 3:10.0

    Nissan 350Z Track, 3:12.5

    Porsche 911 Turbo, 3:05.8

    Porsche 911 GT3, 3:01.8

when I find the others Ill post them

  • i thought the Z06 ran a 3:02.2

  • Um I did not give a explanation because one was not needed.. everyone knows (but you I guess) that a viper handles like a limo.

  • Nordschleife Viper ACR= 7:22.1 GTR= 7:29 Willow Springs Viper ACR= 1:29.33 GTR= 1:31.23 Laguna Seca Viper ACR= 1:35.117 GTR= 1:40.453 VIR Viper ACR= 2:48.6 GTR= 2:55.6
  • Buttonwillow

    Viper ACR= 1:55.7

    GTR= 1:56.9

    Willow Springs

    Viper ACR= 1:08.56

    GTR= 1:08:90

    El Toro

    Viper ACR= 39.89

    GTR= 40.63

So it handles like a limo and mops the floor with the GTR. What does a GTR handle like then, a dump truck?

  • @01Z06guy look at the straights on buttonwillow, and the lack or coners on willow springs, and el toro and willow springs are less than a second, could of been driver errors...even on the nurgburgring with that huge ass straight, it only beat it by 2 seconds, with 200 more hp it should be alot faster, a gtr with 600 hp would just kill any car....

  • @AnTHoNyB1125

You are just full of excuses, aren't you? Just face the facts already. The Viper ACR pulls more lateral Gs than the GTR, out brakes the GTR, and beats it around any racetrack in the world. It's a superior performance car and nobody wants to hear what you imagine would happen if you give one car an extra 200hp that it doesn't have and then try to compare it to other cars that are stock.

  • @01Z06guy watch?v=QeaFzit4C14&feature=player_embedded OMG HOW!

  • @AnTHoNyB1125

Why are you sending videos of some modded GTR drag racing? Who gives a shit? This is almost worse than your other post trying to compare lap times from two different tracks because you are too stupid to know the difference between Top Gear USA and Top Gear UK. Go away moron. ACR > GTR Get over it.

  • @01Z06guy lmaoo, okayy it was sooo modded

  • @AnTHoNyB1125 ACR > GTR Get over it.

  • @01Z06guy whatever.....cause your car cant take a corner fast, it can only accelerate......

  • Comment removed

  • @AnTHoNyB1125

My car corners well over 1 lateral G and corners faster than any car you've ever ridden in and fast enough to make you squeel like the little girl you are.

  • @01Z06guy you have a z06, ive been in cars alot faster...lmao, dont talk shit if you dont know anything

  • @AnTHoNyB1125

That's right. I have a Z06 and it corners faster than you've ever cornered in your life. Anybody who thinks a Z06 track car on R compound tires can't take a corner fast is fucking retard. That would be you.

  • @01Z06guy ok, stop picking fights, you dont know the cars ive driven.....

  • @AnTHoNyB1125

I know how ignorant you are based on your comments. Such gross ignorance could only come from having zero track experience.

  • @01Z06guy yea bro! use the word ignorant with an adjective in front! badass!

  • @AnTHoNyB1125

Aw poor little Anthony is butt hurt he got owned on the internet. :(

  • @01Z06guy yep, i got owned, and you got a boner cause you think you proved someone wrong on the interent

  • @AnTHoNyB1125

How gay of you to think that. And I don't think I proved you wrong, I KNOW I proved you wrong. Even you know I proved you wrong.

  • @01Z06guy lmaoo, your calling me gay, and talking about me being butthurt? your just not a smart fellow, only thing that you proved is that the acr can go fast in a straight line, and turn slow, then accelerate, gtrs can corner wayyyyy faster

  • @AnTHoNyB1125

Wrong. The ACR corners faster than the GTR. Anybody with a brain can figure that out based on its higher lateral G both continuous and peak. Lateral G is directly caused by higher cornering speeds. And the fact that it wins at every road course in the world no matter the layout. The fact that you think otherwise with zero evidence is proof that you are an idiot.

ACR > GTR Get over it.

  • @01Z06guy whatever

  • @01Z06guy and porchse tested the gtr at 7:50 in the nurburgring and thats alot lower than what nissans professional driver tested multiple time, the 2012 gtr does it in 7:24 and the viper in 7:22, and nissan said theyre gonna try to drop 2 seconds, and if they do you will feel stupid

  • @01Z06guy and look at the top gear track 1:17.8 gtr, to 1:22 viper acr......

  • @AnTHoNyB1125

Epic FAIL on your part. The 1:17.8 time for the GTR is on the Top Gear UK test track and the 1:22 you found for the Viper ACR was on Top Gear USA's test track. Two completely different tracks. The ACR has never been run on Top Gear UK's track. Nice try but FAIL.

  • Bahahaha how do you feel?

  • About time someone who knows cars...way to shut them up dcsdr..BRAVO!!!

  • Top gear cracks me up, you dont want to get me started on top gear. Tracks like VIR, Sebring, Willow Springs, Laguna Seca etc etc world class race courses used in Le Mans and other competitions.

  • Enzos sell for 220,000 thats news to me. As for other ferraris it doesnt matter because it still beats ferrari 430s around the track. The ferrari enzo is not in the same class as the viper at this point it has more hp and weighs 500lbs less then the viper does so its going to perform better.

  • actually not.. Most le mans and cup races get won by european cars. sorry. I do love fast vipers though.

  • Um no they arent, the 5 years Dodge raced Le mans 1997-2002 they won 5 FIA GT championships and set more records then you could imagine. They were banned in 2002 after which the C6R has been leading the GT/GT2 classes.

  • I must say that nothing goes faster in a straight line than a TT viper. wow. but of course it is not as well rounded.

  • You do realize vipers rank among the best in handling right?

  • WRONG!!!!!

  • Usually when someone says something is wrong they state facts to back their points but then again most people who say vipers cant handle have but a few points such as "american cars cant handle worth a damn" or "american cars are built only to go in straight lines" which usually tells me that person knows absolutely nothing about cars.

  • Most websites also said the Blue Devil corvette was going to be out this year. Dodge has come to understand the traction issues from the last SRT-4 with the increase in power they will need more traction on top of that the SRTS weight alot less then the STIs so without AWD itll be increasingly hard to put that power to the ground effectively.

  • The SRT-4s are going into production in September. The SRTs will have AWD the Base and RT versions will have FWD.

  • Amazing, a full weight street car, too, this things a Turbo Busa killer...

  • you domestic guys are idiots with yur "imports suck" bullshit. face it they are two entirely different cars. japanese cars focus on fuel efficiency and making the most power out of limited displacement, while stock domestics could give a shit about either and if they want to be faster just tack some displacement or cylinders on. think for a second of american built 4 and 6 cylinders, they are a joke. if honda/toyota/nissan started developing V8's or V10's domestics will have nothing

  • Uh imports already started developing V8s/V10s, and no imports focus on saving weight to save HP which gives more fuel efficiency, they give up safety for weight. Imports use turbos with small displacement to make any decent power while Domestics do it all motor. The new supra uses a 5L V8 pushing 450HP, NSX 4.5L V10 with 450HP. Now compare that with the 8L 850HP 10 year old race engine devolped by Dodge for the Viper which was a proven reliable engine they put into their GTS-R Le mans vipers.

  • As for american 4 cylinders the both SRT-4s produce 230HP(neon) 300HP(caliber) and perform better then any import in its price range including the STI/EVOs and still get 32MPG while running 13sec 1/4miles. The viper/z06 is one of the most fuel efficient sports cars in its class 12/20(srt) 16/26(z06) compared to the enzos 8/10 CGTs 10/16 Murcs 8/12. Hell the 08 viper gained HP and became more fuel efficient then the 06s.

  • omg those milles lol

  • More valves also means a more even distribution of flow too..hence more efficient..

  • I love these arguments. Its really a matter of engine size...a v10 is exponentially more efficient due to the fact a V10 has the ability to have the same sized valves on a greater number of smaller cylinders. Larger displacement yes, but more flow inside those smaller cylinders yields higher power potential. Simpe engine dynamics guys...

  • you know what i love beating tuners with a twin turbo 2002 dodge cummins 2500. pretty much everything BD diesel. if trucks are beating tuners now a days tuners have no hope.

  • Top secret is the name of the tuner drtyfknmouth so shut it until you know the truth. They are only running it at 1000bhp so that it can be used everyday.

  • Yeah that made a whole lot of sense, the amazing japanese engineering gets beat by 16year old engine design, every japanese car has gotten its ass handed to it by the Viper for over 16 years. Sorry kid learn about cars and get an education.

  • These kids are fucking idiots - they'll stand next to their overpriced imports until we run them over.

I got a 98 Mustang TWO VALVE and I ripped a built supra a new asshole last night without nitrous - the rich momma's boy was so confident in his car that he bet me 100 dollars and when I pulled off the road to collect he just kept driving.

  • yeah...maybe try some corners redneck

  • Yeah ever heard of Le Mans? Dodge dominated le mans for the 5 years they raced. And just so I can educate the sorry import tuners. American sports cars have been handling and performing along side european supercars for YEARS. The viper, Ford GT, Saleen S7 and now the z06 have posted times on race tracks around the world from sebring, willow springs, VIR, Laguna Seca, and the Nurburgring that rival if not better then most european super cars.

  • The old supra 500hp? Wow your kidding right? the old supra was like 280HP with a turbo. You know as much about cars as my 2 year old cousin. Just spit your idiotic idealogy without knowing a single thing.

  • Wow V12 twin turbod yet only 500HP, the viper does 600hp with a V10 all motor. Supras havent been able to touch vipers for years never have and never will.

  • yer and f1 cars have 3litre v10's and produce over 900 or so bhp. the amount of valves doesnt matter, take the mclaren slr, it has 8 valves yet produces over 600 bhp

  • Yes and most of them if not all are supercharged or turbo charged, the viper with a small turbo set up will make over 650HP, with an avg sized supercharger will make over 800wheel hp. With turbos no one even comes close, with small t76s or t88 turbos vipers make anywhere from 1300 to 1800 rear wheel horsepower using between 12-27PSI.

  • do you know of the car with 2200bhp, im not sure and this is a genuine question.

  • Yes the victor vauxhall in england its a different class all together. The red victor is a stripped down dragster using a solid rear axle with a six speed auto. This car is a full weight street legal car with completely independent rear suspension using a six speed manual.

  • thats the one, thanks man!

  • valves arnt cylinders buddy. they tell how efficient the engine runs a car must have over 8 valves to run at all. hell a honda civic has 16.

  • First off goonie, we only speak the king's english here, so you leave a hell of a lot to be desired there. Work on it. Second of all, if it's so fuckin top secret, then how the hell do you know so much about it? I've been hearing all this "top secret" American muscle killer in some form or another for years. Show us, dip shit. Your broken fucking English does nothing to prove your point. I can SEE you boys getting smoked on the street. Better luck next time, nice try though.

  • variable valve timing, 70 valves per cylinder, 65 turbos, NOS, paddle shift and a fuckin ground effects package that makes it look like the starship enterprise and it won't beat 50 + year old American technology (small block, push rod, 2 valves per cylinder)...hahahah! Yeah boys, you asians really got your shit together, huh?

  • Its running D/Rs thats not the owner driving his car but an actual professional driver. Garth Weaver's best ET on his DR street tires is 8.8 I believe.

  • You wake up to the fact that the Japanese still have never sold a production car in America that is faster than my five year old stock Z06. How come their vast superiority hasn't accomplished this yet? More complicated does not mean better.

  • hp/liter is meaningless. It's hp/lbs and hp/$ that matters. US is not too stupid to make turbos and variable cam timing. They biuld both actually. GM chose displacement over other methods for the Z06. It made for a light, cheap, reliable, drivabe, and very powerful engine. Destroys the "hi-tech" NSX for example. How was that a bad choice?

  • Hybrids will go the way of the dinosaur, 8 track, and spinner wheels. Why?, because they add so much wieght and cost and provide so little extra mileage. So much for superior Japanese technology.

  • Both are putting down about as much power to the ground as they can. The Viper uses more displacement, the Supra uses more Boost. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TECHNOLOGY! You think more boost cannot be appied to the Viper because the body was manufactured in America? They are both aftermarket forged internals and aftermarket turbos and intakes. What the hell does Japan have to do with that?

  • Hybrid technology is a temporary fix for a much bigger problem, the end result will prove it to be a waste of money. We need something besides gas, not to make the gas last a few years longer. Times are changing and the US' cars are coming back.

  • Just because the Japs throw turbos on everything doesn't make them faster. America has always been about high displacement and torque for sports cars. Ford is losing money, but not yet going bankrupt. GMC is one of the worlds largest corporation and is going nowhere. Sorry.

  • if you dumb yanks wana see the real fastest road legal car, type in on youtube THE WORLDS FASTEST ROAD LEGAL CAR and u will see its a english car with 2200 HP, fuckin day dreamers!

  • Too funny you speak of the Vauxhall, which has only done 7.8s with a stripped down dragster with a solid rear axle and a 6 speed auto. This is a full weight independent rear suspension six speed manual running 7.98. If you want to compare the Vauxhall to a viper using the same set up well near the same, Heffners 7.74 run pushing only 1500hp only low boost at 3500lbs solid rear axle street legal powerglide is faster then the red victor.

  • YEAH BUT ITS GOT AN AMERICAN ENGINE.

So, what exactly about it is British? (besides the body)

  • PS. I'll totally go in on that 72 bug idea. IT CAN'T FAIL!!!!

  • "Vegita! What does the Scouter say?"

    "It's over NINE THOUSAAAAAANNDDDD!!!!!

  • There is no comparisom between a dohc engine and a pushrod viper motor. Give respect where it's due. The 2jz is a great engine just like many other dohc's like the 4g63 etc...An old school pushrod motor though ,still rockin the world-Z06,viper,etc.

  • Where have I bashed on the supra? Infact I said that ryan woons supra deserves repsect. Simply put ryan woon is running near 50PSI while this viper is running low 20s. Thats over 2x more boost yet less HP, and the viper is still using smaller turbos.

  • fuck rice rocket supras! viper all the way! go America!

  • vipers own everything.

  • OMG!!! Vipers are the best!

  • shame for the supras its a 6spd coz the top supras are now running th400 autos am i right? which are technically 3 speeds and dont fall into the category of this viper, damn i love the whole supra-viper debate

  • The top supras? Ryan Woon is still using a six speed. As for anything that isnt a six speed there are vipers running mid-high 7secs with 3speed powerglides. In my video section heffner has a PRELIM run using only psi which he did in 7.74 secs. There will be a video of it soon in the low 7s using 20+psi.

  • yes the top supras i.e titan-7 second range and boost logic in the 7 second range.this supra isnt in the same league as this viper thats what im trying to say.

  • Its a different class all together this is a IRS six speed your talking about powerglides. Like I said Heffner runs mid-high 7 secs on low boost. I have a video of him running a prelim run(his first track run ever) on 19PSI doing 7.74 secs. Once he turns up the boost he will be doing low 7s mid and mid 7 avg. Boost Logic has a supra that is a powerglide in the same catergory as the heffner but has only run a 7.99. Even this viper has run faster then that.

  • true yeah but that also was boost logics first run in there new red and black supra no matter how u see it a 2jz motor is impressive with what you can do with only 3 or a stroked 3.2 litre motor i dont dislike vipers i just dont think its that hard to get alot of power from the huuuuuuuuge engine im sure if a 2jz was 6 7 or 8 litres it would be running same or faster 1/4s

  • Well they can get huge numbers of these motors if they wanted to but its useless to have that much power if you cant put it to the ground. As the tire tech gets better traction is better so power will go up. There are vipers pusing 2000RWHP but its useless if they only spin.

  • yep ive seen a 2jz motor in a carbon celica body on here run mid 6's i think it was pro stock though, not too sure

  • There are no stock body stock chassis full weight IRS six speeds that will run faster then this viper. There are cobalts that run 6secs pro stock, vipers that run mid-low 7s with race chassis's and powerglides. But this car is the fastest full weight street legal independent rear suspension six speed in the world.

  • keep talking.....

  • You just answered the question "Why do serious racers not buy Supras?" If the Supra did have a V8 it wouldn't have enough weight to keep the car down for traction.

  • take it on the show Pinks and fuckin' rape the show

  • that is insane. I need to start saving up.

  • I bet it gets great gas mileage...

  • I believe it was 14 along with the fuel effiecient system Underground racing designs

  • Yes he is he has a 1038RWHP supra. ALthough his supra is a beast it doesnt match up with his viper

  • awesome vid ;)
