  • Excellent - Michael Manring is a superb bass player. This is a very moving piece of music...

  • Hey Jeff, I know you from the Andy McKee forums! Man, you are so amazing. And so is Michael! Why aren't there more videos of these performances? I want more. If you guys are ever playing around nyc you should let me know. I would love to see you.

  • @Rael0505 Hey brother... thank you so much for your comments. Michael and I will have other music we play together to share in the future, I'm sure. Last weekend we recorded a tune for my upcoming release that will be really fun to play live. :) Keep jammin!

  • @jazroc That's great to hear! Any idea if you're coming to new york? I'd love to see you guys in concert!

  • Beautiful...

  • completely mesmerizing

  • does Jeff's harp guitar have sympathetic strings? I can hear a really interesting drone throughout the piece

  • Yes it does, look up the oracle sympitar made by fred carlson I believe.

  • Jeff wow totally superb !!!

  • Wow this is soooo exquisite, Jeff superb hugs to ya bro

  • Thanks so much, Don! Hey man... Happy New Year! I hope to see ya this year and keep jammin'.

  • this is my favourite song from Taproot. very nice playing!

  • This gives me goosebumps. Amazing playing.

  • Absolutely amazing man, after going through nearly every Hedges video I could find, this was a real jem to hear this version with Manring.

    Keep up the excellent work.

  • What a great compliment! I hope that we will one day see a video of Michael himself playing this. :)

BTW, I'm playing live with Alex de Grassi and Manring this summer if you're in CA and have a chance to see one of the shows. Should be special!

  • Unfortunatly I live in Ireland, so it would be a fair few miles out of my way I think :P

But definetly sounds like quite a line-up. Shall be certainly purchasing the cd when the chance arises.

  • Beautiful

  • 4:30, where is that mystifying sound coming from? Is that Michael holding a chord is that your sympathetic strings?

  • That's Michael holding-out the stuff he was doing with his bass and the ebow at the end as I hit those tap notes. I love that ending! We had played this all of 3 shows prior to this and he always comes-up with something mystical.

  • That's crazy! Haha you guys are awesome. And I read the description, the way Michael really makes it seem that they arranged this as a duet, and it's just a spectacular piece of work!

  • Awesome!

  • Great video Jeff!

  • Great stuff Jeff!

The Bass accompaniment slots into Chava's Song like a piece of a puzzle.

  • Thanks, Mr. Anderson. I see you're working on some very cool stuff yourself! Keep it up!!

  • Michael Manring's bass playing always adds another dimension to any song, this song would really not have been the same without Manring's input, clearly. Didn't realize he had composed this along with Michael Hedges.

Thanks for the upload Jeff. :)
