  • New best setup: Gigabyte G1 Assassin motherboard (x58) and a core i7 990x 6 core processor. This isn't the best price to performance ratio, but the best performance in the world at a consumer level.

  • asus rampage iii black edition the best and will be till asus makes something better

  • Stop speaking so fast, I can't hear myself scream.

  • sir...what do you think about SABERTOOTH P67?

  • whats the best asus motherboard for home recording on sony acid pro ? PLEASE HELP

    PLEASE HELP

    PLEASE HELP

    PLEASE HELP

    using a 775 socket

  • yep yep

  • The best Mobo is the EVGA Classified3. Much better than Asus Rampage III extreme.

  • best bang for your bucks is Rampage 3 extreme w/ i7 extreme

  • best bang for buck is at las vegas

  • How does X-58 give you the best bang for your buck. Really it just gives you the best bang. P55 is a much better bang for your buck. MB,CPU and memory are all cheaper.

BEST BANG FOR BUCK=P55 unless you just wanna say my schlong is bigger than yours. I have a p55 with 2x gtx 275 and i kill any game @ 1920x1200. Even crisis.

  • @expatriot04 that is a good combo BUT THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK IS A AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition AND A ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard with a coolmaster 212 + cooler ..... just overclock and ur good to go .. Also that video was posted before the p55 came out

  • @cisco760ca I see that you've done your homework. I've had computers with AMD processors & they're cheap & great. People are stuck with intel & yes, the intel i7 series are powerful. However, I don't believe that the AMD Phenom II series is as fast as the intel i7 series. Could be wrong. I'm looking to get a laptop, 15" screen for portability but I'm okay with 17" display. I do music so I need a fast CPU, at least 6 ram. What laptop do you suggest? Help me out, thanks. No Mac book, Pc only thnx

  • @pitolove71 well depends buddy on how much your willing to waist . There is a few new chips from amd and intel coming out early this year . I suggest to wait a month or two in tell the new amd chip for laptops come out wich supposedly are gonna be stronger than the i3 and some i5 from intel . Name of the chip is zacate and there around the 500 dollar range . Im not a fan boy of niether but i luv the way amd gives u more bang for the buck .

  • @expatriot04 Crysis isnt hard to kill anymore...

  • I couldn`t keep smiling like that. Some guys and girls seem to naturally be able to smile. I think it`s to do with upbringing... If Daddy, Mummy are good smilers, so are the kids. But what really gets me is how he speeds talk on every beginning. I never quite understand what he`s saying until 5 seconds after! lol.

    Must get a better motherboard.

  • i wouldn't call it best bang for the buck, I mean intel are pretty over priced and so are its motherboard. Also what criterias were set for this question? Bang for buck in terms of gaming, video editing and so on. When it comes to gaming, I'd go for AMD, they do the same job as an intel for a lower price. Games tend to set the standards and they are usually set so they can target mass market with average equipment. Bang for buck I'd go for AMD.

  • This man really pown it, always making usefull questions

  • hey guys!

    i have a question.

can an sli motherboard run in a single video card?

  • @bloodyred915 yes it can.

  • @LLOYD19851012 thanks ^_^

  • Hi, Can someone tell me if the Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 is compatible with the i7-860?

    Thanks

  • @miniboy12111 check wut type of socket both products are, if they match ur gold

  • i dont see why everyone likes i7 so much personely a phenom X4 955 or 95 are almost as good and cost less sure you lose mabye 3-9 fps in game buy so what

  • @jordan0089 the point is thery are faster for everthing there is more support for it and for 180 bucks for and i7 920 why not i got my evga sli le x58 for 80 bucks

  • u guyz are prety cute HAHa

  • over-clocking potential. The i7 over-clocks itself noob

  • @zeldahardcore ur stupid, u can overcllock it way further than it will overclock it self, "noob"

  • @luian90 lol why the fuck would you over-clock an i7 if you really need to overclock an i7 you should just go with the xeon hexcore and build yourself a fucking heavy workstation. I wouldnt risk overclocking an i7 at all. its to legit of a chip already. so stfu.

  • @zeldahardcore thats what he meant u stupid fuck, you made you self look stupid with your last comment.. and btw some of us aint broke as fuck like you, so yeah.

  • Will 2 ATI Radeon hd 5970's fit on that motherboard?

  • yehaaa got p6t deluxe v2 and i7 929

  • The price is 100% same, should i go for i7 930 or i7 920 - i7 930 is the same just the i7 930 is 2,8 GHz and i7 920 is 2.66 GHz - The prices are all same so it must be better with more GHz when you can? - Private message me or its pretty useless replying;)

  • go for the 930

  • Does haveing 2 good graphic cards help for better picture or just one?

  • I can never tell - is this guy psychotic or is he just a naturally happy guy? Hm, anyway - his reviews are always really appreciated; even though it feels like I'm listening to a reformed half-brother of Norman Bates. Many of my buying decisions are made as a result of this guy's dedication to his work. Thanks Rodders! :) Respect.

  • @londongamer lol

  • AMD II X4 I agree but everything MSI makes

Is CRAP that will break or blow up on you

    Gigabyte or Asus

No Foxconn they are a weird company based in China that Apple has building their iPhone (how American is that) Apple is full of shit

This guy in the video is a big ASS KISSER, grow some balls and speak the truth. AMD is for real people. He is saying that shit in hopes of gettign sponsorship or a real job. LOL

  • I do like the 790fx gd70. And if you find the right RAM you can auto-overclock.

  • pure shit its AMD II x4 965 be and a msi 790fx gd70!!!!!!!

  • im getting the Gigabyte EX58 Extreme with an i7

  • I plan on getting the Asus P6T Deluxe with the i7.

  • I plan to pair up my i7 with ASUS p6x58d...

my Q: I have ATi 4890 1GB - can I crossfire it with a 5870? or just wait till nVidia 3xx comes out and replace?

  • Go with a 5970, then when the are much cheaper in a year, get another, Quad GPUS ftw!

  • I will just ask a question will ati radeon 5870 work in EVGA x58 Sli Le? im sorry if sound noob becouse this is my first build and new to computer world.

    Please reply.

  • Yes

  • Only if you put only one video card. Multiple video card are only supported for nvidia, when a motherboard is only sli compatable. There are crossfire and nvidia motherboards out there that support both nvidia and ati video cards when you put more than one video card. If you buy this board, you will only be able to put one 5870. hope that helps you!!!

  • definitly!

  • All x58 boards work with ati cards Evga works with crossfireX they just don't advertise it because they advertise for nvidia!!!!!

  • If you notice, all of this guy's videos always start with a smile.

    :)

  • Its what he watches before the video that makes the difference.

  • @xXxmidgexXx and also end it with a smile :)

  • @xXxmidgexXx And end with one.

  • and loose perfomance at the same time

  • @Dolemga coming from someone who never owned one i bet

  • @blink180heights Oh, I had a athlon 64 (DUAL CORe11!) when they came out, and an new fresh radeon 1950XTX, but I had soooo much trouble with the drivers, so just fuck it, I rather pay some extra to get real stuff instead, :)

  • dude, you could get a whole i7 rig with multiple gpus for that price, dumbass

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • Rodney

do you think Rampage 2 Extreme

    is it good??????????

  • yea its pretty good but a littl bit expensive buy same but Asus rampage 2 GENE ;D

  • rampage 2 gene is sooo ugly and its very small....

  • Evga sells decent mobos for not much more then 200.

  • hell yeah its good but consider the price man its expensive!

    try these cheaper boards

Asus P6T Motherboard and EVGA X58 SLI Classified Motherboard

the EVGA X58 SLI Classified Motherboard has a lifetime warranty

  • how about mine i uses:

    AMD DUAL CORE 5200+

    Gigabyte S-series ga-ma69gm-s2h

    4gb KINGSTON DDR2 800

    160gb SATA HDD

    Nvidia 8600GT ddr3

PLEASE TELL ME IF THEY ARE COMPATIBLE

  • You need a x58 mobo.

  • what about the i7 3.2 processor ???????

  • this video is from january 11th ,the 940 ,965,975 none of these were out

  • does the drivers include realtek?

  • NEED help!!! tell me if these parts are compatible 1000watt xion atx power supply Antec 1200 gamer edition case Asus striker 2 extreme 790i ultra Asus 2x 285 gtx intel core 2 duo e8400 4 gb kit(2gb x2)DDR3 Ballistix Ram Zalman cnps9900LED ultra quiet cooler western digital cariar green 1tb OEM hard drive 3.5 inch 32mb cache sata 2. Tell me if this is good build and if its compatible.
  • Yes it is compatible, It is also a good build but I would go with the Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 it is only 20 bucks more and is faster.

  • get a phenom 720x3 with a 790Fx mombo instead and get the western digital caviar black they r both faster and get the 4870x2 :D

  • why would you get a duo but 2 gtx 285's?

  • because core duo increases frame rate in games, and it runs on a dual bit memory not as much as a quad but its faster since its less.

also a quad core is only good for multi tasking, not really for hard core gaming and such, unless ur gonna play 2 games at the same time, but still duo increases frame rate by atleast 15.

  • wow a very high components but i recomently say use a quad core for the 1tb HDD

  • i went ahead and got the 500gb instead, with the 300gb velociraptors in raid 0, i didnt buy the CPU yet, but instead of asus gtx 285, i went with 3 EVGA gtx 285 FTW editions in tri sli

and instead of the 790i i went i7 and got a x58 classified edition motherboard from EVGA

and went with the i7 920 processor, i OC'd it to 3.44 GHZ coulda made it higher but i have a v8 cooler for now..

  • i have narrowed it down to this configuration that is affordable for me and fits the latest specs

    Intel core I7 extreme

    asus rampage 2 mobo

    6gb(2gb x 3) ddr3 ram

    gtx295 1gb

    2tb hd

but the only thing i havent figured out is what cooling method or case should i use ...what will be the best cooling option and product for this sort of system so that over clocking can take place and my pc doesn't over heat...thanks in advance

  • HAF 932 or Antec 1200.......Im going to use a HAF 932...

  • thanks really appreciate it...

  • What about Antec 902? Is it a good case? I am getting it for $119. Do you think there is any other better case around 120 bucks? I can TRY to spend few more dollars.

  • affordable.. thats the best u can get man!

  • its almost the best if i add another gtx 295 and put it in quad sli maybe yes and add some more RAM but that can be done later.....

  • off course if we are talking about single mother boards and processors systems...

  • I am looking to board (ASUS Rampage II Extreme)

    is it good?

Im building gaming pc ,so are does component

    right :

    -ASUS Rampage II Extreme

    Intel I7-920

-Mushkin PC3-12800 "Essential" KIT 6144 MB

    -Evga GTX 280 1GB

  • I'd rather spend less money on the mobo and more on the GPU if I was gaming.

  • Those work don't buy a cheap power supply I recommend a Silverstone ST

  • tnx.. no mony isn"t problem.

  • Please if you can tell which processor to choose which of the I7 or qaud 775??

  • i7 if you got the money

  • Isn't Intel going to be phasing out the Core 2's when when they launch their mainstream Nehalem's (Core i5's) DDR3 prices are dropping pretty fast soon it will be a repeat of DDR2, DDR3 being cheaper than DDR2 next year maybe?

  • Intel Core i7 Nehalem 2.66ghz with ASrock x58 Deluxe. Great Motherboard/CPU combo. I have my 2.66Ghz i7 running at 3.8ghz no problem. I could easily get it to 4.0ghz no problem but 3.8 is good enough for me :-)

  • im planning on building a computer with an i7-965 cpu. is it really worth $1600? why is it so good compared to a normal intel quad core such as the Q9550?

  • It supports Hyperthreading, that's why. Look it up.

  • So you're going to buy a $1600 CPU but don't know what it does? What are you? Made of cash??

  • buy the 920 intsead...

  • Which x58 MB? Asus or EVGA?

  • I think you can extend your following greatly by giving real bang/buck suggestions each month. The people that buy this board for gaming are the ones that have the money to do it. And if they do have the $ to spend, this is the best option in a lot of categories. That said, you can build a MUCH cheaper rig and still get way more FPS than you need. Once again, this comment is for gamers.

  • I agree, but i wouldnt really pick just any LGA1366 motherboard out there.Probably GA-EX58-EXTREME or Rampage 2 or GA-EX58-UD5.

  • rampage 2???

    overpriced???

    why do u need that?

but the gigabyte is a good board ;)

  • Yeah im buying the Gigabyte Extreme.Rampage 2's soundcard is better, but im buying a different soundcard anyways.

  • The Gigabyte board is the best by far, I have one which has built in surround sound support, 8 usb..etc Plus the location of the components on the Gigabyte boards do not block video cards as Asus tends to do by locating one RIGHT next to where a extended card needs to go, forcing modification to the board.

  • LoL my watercooled phenom II at 3.8ghz owns ur quad cores and dual cores. (you cant count i7 becuase it cost 2 times more !)

  • Thank for gracing us with your vast knowledge...................wow.

  • and the quad cores and dual cores cost les wats yur point???

  • AMD licks balls

  • you mean what is the most expensive combination of cpu and mobo, right?

  • Wow, you are so NOT right.

He can buy it. (And you can't?)

    Why don't recommend it?

I'm planning to buy this combo :)

But it is expensive in the Netherlands :(

  • It ain't worth it!!! And yes, i can not buy it !!!! Rodney thinks as if anyone can afford to buy only the most expensive rig, what is of course nonsence.

  • Oi, Why don't you shut the fuck up. How dare you say that to Rodney.

Rodney didn't say Asus RAMPAGE-II-EXTREME and i7-965 did he?

    Stupid Retard!

  • Actually they are the best / fastest out there right now. Its hardcore gaming stuff there. But yes he shouldnt have said "best bang for buck"

  • Good call Majin, I agree.

  • This new Intel X58 is BS CRAP..

The best combo is a WHOPIN

    MSI K7T266 Pro 2 + AMD Athlon XP 1.5 GHz + 1532 MB DDRAM +AGP GeForce 2 ULTRA VGA ! Best PC of 2001!

  • that is so true!

  • intel is expensive because amd with new phenoms can't even compete with c2d..If you have best product and no competition you can price that product as you please...let's hope that amd will come up with some good solutions otherwise we will end up with single company which dictates prices just like Microsoft in software market.

  • intel is too expensive >_> I'm going amd for a while since I don't have to buy a new mobo cpu cooler and ram!

  • theres a new amd quad came out called Dragon & can be clocked 4ghz with only air cool, and 4.5ghz for watercool... its a black edition so it means that you can overclock it for speeds... or downclock it to save electricity.. simple :)

  • the i7 920 also clocks to 4ghz on air. :D

Just gotta compare prices and quality.

  • i would have to say amd is with the new phenom 2's u have a lot more oc head room then intel and in most games the amd done better then intel or thats what i have seen maybe the newer am3+ will run up there with the i7 which the new am2+ it not trying to run up there with it

  • u can oc the p2 to 5ghz ezy on water

  • The best bang for the buck atm is an e8400 E0 stepping with a p45 mobo and micron d9 gmh ddr2 memory sticks (very cheap now). With an i7 system you need ddr3 and thats fairly expensive.

  • The best bang for the buck atm is an e8400 E0 stepping with a p45 mobo.

  • But like I said, a cheap LGA775 setup will need to be upgraded sooner, since its processors aren't as powerful as the i7 line and won't keep up for as long. I think that's the point of this video; you'll have a rig that will be competitive for a longer time if you spend a little more now.

  • The i7 920 performs faster than the QX9770, according to Tom's Hardware benchmarks. The 9770 costs $1500. The i7 920 costs less than $300. You can build an entire LGA1366 setup with triple-channel DDR3 and dual GPUs for less than the cost of just the Core 2 Quad.

But if you compare to an E8400 or Q6600, yes an i7 setup will cost more. (Using the same accessories.) Just remember, LGA775 is basically finished, and prices are always dropping. LGA1366 will get cheaper as it becomes the standard.

  • lol i7 and a x58 best bang for buck that's a negative.

  • A P45 with Q6600 or E8400/ similar would be the best bang for the bang. Even a AMD 5000+ (or similar) and Phenom II with a 790 GX or FX motherboard would be even more BANG for the BUCK.

  • Core i7 is the best bag for your buck becuase a core i7 920 is as good to better then a QX9770 at 1 fifth the price for the same proformance

  • Agreed. LGA 1366 is terrible bang for buck right now. $200 for Ram? $300 for a motherboard? $400 for a processor? How in the bloody hell is that bang for buck when you can get a full LGA 775 quadcore/ram/mobo combo for like $400 total and only be a few %s slower? Especially for gaming....i7 being bang for buck has got to be a joke lol...

  • Exactly man, I couldn't explain why better myself.

  • Id consider the skulltrail motherboard with 2 Xeon's the best motherboard/cpu combo, but then again thats not really for the mainstream market.

  • lol, well if you have a few thousand dollars then yes, but actually, its always best in my opinion to go with the most up to date technology and that is the i7.

  • the new Deneb chips are a good alternative.

  • Hahahahaha...

    Not compared to an i7.

  • first generation deneb isn't supposed to compete with i7...

  • actually they have the same specs... but if you oc intel get on tops

  • Mister game man wat about the lower end gigabyte x58 motherboards ds4 ud5 are they bad ??? i mean since we are talking bang for buck

  • Best bang for buck? Dude. X58 $700 i7 Nearly $1000 and the Extreme's going at $1600 in the AUS. Thats not bang for buck :P

  • no you can get an Intel Core i7 motherboard with X58 chipset for around $249 dollars and the Intel Core i7 920 can be had for $294 bucks on Newegg.(which outperforms the previous Extreme Editions costing over a grand)- so yes it is the best bang for buck. a 300 dollar chip beating a thousand dollar chip.

  • That's an American Price. Over here in Australia its starts at 300 to 700 dollars thats for the Rampage and the Rampage sells for $780 and our i7 CPU's sell for $940 ;) Our Economy sucks :P

  • Wait wait wait- how much does an Intel Core i7 go for in Australia? Youd ont have any etailers you can go to? Newegg or tiger direct dont ship tp Australia?

  • I was stating our cheapest retailers ;) and our local retailers rip people off. Also, if I were to purchase from America the currency of my money would double to yours ;) So no it is NOT the bang for buck atm. For the performance your getting stick the previous, cause that's bang for buck ;)

  • i agree with you, stick with LGA 775- right now they scream past anything AMD has and are selling fast quad cores for dirt cheap. Then again, AMD has very fast dual cores that are selling even cheaper and play any of the latest games with ease and laugh at intensive applications. So right now its a good time to be a consumer in computer hardware.

  • not true at all.

x48 and p45 are better for overclocking.

The i/ architecture doesnt allow that much overclocking.

And the better structure of the cpu deosnt make up for the fewer Mhz in games.

    X48 + q9550 is the best.

  • "The i/ architecture doesnt allow that much overclocking."

what the hell are you talking about, I overclocked my Core i7 920 at 3.6GHz (air cooled) and I've seen guys overclocking it at 4.2GHz with water cooling.

  • lol, 790GX mobo, anyone?

  • lol, the only thing going for that is its low price

it cant have ddr3 memory, uses the slower amd cpu's

good for a budget build or a fanboy

  • that chipset is supperb. if only amd cpu were better they would have dominated

  • asus rampage ii seems to be getting better scores in 3dmark tho -_-

  • i would like to know in your opinion wat the best computer money could buy would be ( for gaming) i have a pretty good idea wat it would have in it but would be interesting to get a profecionls opinion of it

  • is that your opinion or that was an opinion of a well know computer group / site / people?

  • probably both, cause its true

  • thanks man

  • What about the MSI Eclipse or the ASUS Rampage? (price doesn't matter)

  • if ur doing extreme overclocking with liquid cooling go for it...

  • bl0ckme, I would recommend DFI LP DK P45-T2RS, I have a friend that is using it with crossfire mode and he said "overclocking - easy". And it should cost arount 100 bucks.

  • guys, im getting a c2d e8400, and a 4850x2. but i dunno what motherboard i should get. i want something that has a pci-e 2.0 slot and is around 100 bucks. can someone recommend one for me please? thanks!!

  • get a Gygabyte p45 mobo, its around 100-120 bucks

  • the phenom II run 4+ ghz on air

    id say about 4.1

  • hey rodeny, if I buy an i7 920, won't that lower my highest potential overclock compared to buying an i7 965 extreme?

  • Most Intel i7 920 CPUs will overclock to 3.8-4.2GHz

  • sure they will but the cost of LC to cool it down is going to even the cost if you buy 965 with stock fan

  • <3 my p6t Deluxe(ocpalm) and i7920.

    Pwns

  • but your 3gb of ram does pwn LOL :)

  • huh?

  • you have noly 3gb of ram and that doesnt pwn :P

  • how do you know i have 3gb or ram? ther are 6 dimm slots for up to 12GB DDR3 tri-channel

  • hmm, maybe i'm smart enough to check the description of you far cry 2 video :)

  • gota give u plus 1 for that. :P

  • bullshit phenom II would have the most overclocking potential you can pic up a phenom II 920 for 220 bucks and a motherboard for 50, followed for 39 for 4 gigz of ddr2 ocz ra

  • Despite having overclocking potential equal to that of the new core i7s, your prices are wayyyyyy low. Newegg's 920 is $235, a decent motherboard is at least $80, and good overclocking RAM isn't found at a $40 price point; closer to $50 or $55.

  • damn i need to familiarise myself with the i7 and x58 platform when i get the funds

  • i love your videos but i say an Asus rampage II with a core i7 965. Its expansive but its the best

  • If you want the best bang for buck motherboard/cpu combo i would advise this:

£230 - AMD Phenom II 940 Black Edition

    £90 - 790GX Based Motherboard

    £320

    £240 - Intel Core i7 920

    £200 - x58 Motherboard

    £440

  • a gx bord erm no a 790 fx with the 750 south bridge

  • Quote from AMD: "...4870 graphics card and the AMD 790GX chipset..." thats what they recommend for a dragon platform system :)

It also has SB750 southbridge, from what i read only older 790GX use SB700 :)

  • AMD is evil! EEEEEVIL!!!

  • amd is not evil they have just finnanly started getting off there ass amd was beating intel upto k7 then the core 2 crushed them i own both a phenom II 920 and a core i7 940 as far as games they are pretty equal ill have to wait till am3 is released to see how the phenom II performs on ddr3
