  • Till i got an arrow to the head

  • My plan is to get the same Mac as you, except with the 3.4GHz i7 and AMD Radeon HD 6790M 2GB. That should be more than enough to run Skyrim and anything else I might want.

  • @MetaFoxx278 Yeah, better still, I've noticed Bethesda has really improved performance for this game through constant patching. Now it doesn't get stuttery in cities :)

  • Can I run this game well with these settings? 2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 2560 x 1440 resolution 4GB (two 2GB) memory 1TB hard drive1 AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB On a Mac btw

  • @2222lil I'd say you will be able to run the game well at 900 - 1080p, my guess is that you'll be hanging around the 30 frames per second area at Medium/High settings. Just remember to disable Vsync for a performance gain, and you'll be good to go!

  • hey, i have a quad core i7 27inch imac with 2gb graphics running widows 7 ultimate through bootcamp. with this game play with maxed out settings? great vid btw :)

  • @FifaGuyHD Most likely, yes. It all depends on your graphics card model, but Skyrim isn't very well optimised so you may notice some frame drops. What graphics card model do you have?

  • when i play this on default settings even then my fps isn't that good how come ?

  • @rubenandpimslapping Bethesda didn't quite manage to optimise Skyrim for PC, so performance in this game is somewhat a hit or miss situation. Even my frame rate stutters from time to time, especially in cities. An user recently created an update that supposedly fixes the frame rate, and, from what I've heard, it works pretty well. I don't suggest you to try it yet, as it is in an early stage, but in case you want to track it, just google "TES acceleration layer".

    Good luck!

  • so this is where the "arrow in the knee" shit comes from...

  • @LeStuffedPorkReturns

    obviously you never play it

  • @HLM190586 I haven't had the opportunity to play it, but I intend to do so.

  • Can you link the mods you used?

  • @s9ob I didn't use any mods in this video, the only thing I did was change some values in a file called SkyrimPrefs.ini; which can be located in My Documents/My Games/Skyrim. If you want trees and rocks to draw shadows, just change "bTreesReceiveShadows" and "bDrawLandShadows" from 0 to 1.

Also, if you want to change your field of view (increase your peripheral vision) just open the dev console and write "fov x"; where x is the value you want to assign (default fov is 60).

    Good luck!

  • I like how you wear you're arrow.

  • @TrulyYuki lol thanks! I didn't actually realise I had that stuck until the time I recorded this.

  • Gameplay for iMac 21.5" ,Ati Radeon 4670, 4gb ram on my channel

  • i have a 21" iMac, i3 3.2ghz, ATI Radeon 5670, 4 gb RAM. running on Win Xp. how well do you think Skyrim will play on it?

  • @RiseAgainst0027 Skyrim is currently limited at a CPU usage of 2 cores, and uses no more than 4GB of RAM for rendering, so your PC may be capable of handling the game really well. Thing is, Skyrim is sort of unoptimized for PC, so performance might be unpredictable; I've seen tons of videos where people have far better PCs than mine yet are barely able to run the game without stuttering. I'd say you should go for it; your screen isn't so big so you should be fine at a little less than 1080p :)

  • @PolloSpeedo Thanks :P

  • @RiseAgainst0027 Hey, I have the same computer as you, I play through Bootcamp and it runs fine, I get around 50-75 frames.

  • @immortallolz What settings do you play at?

  • @RiseAgainst0027 You should be fine man, Don't worry about settings lol. Just turn down your shadow settings all the way down, thats about it. :)

  • @RiseAgainst0027 I would upgrade to Windows 7 64 Bit by the way.

  • The video looks great!

I wanted to ask you something, since your computer is similar to mine.

I'm trying to run Skyrim on a 27'' iMac, running Windows 7 32-bit through BootCamp. It's got an Intel i7 Quad Core 3.4GHz, 12GB of RAM memory, & 6970M 2GB card.

My problem is, it can't run above Medium (at 1080) without some heavy stuttering. I've read around that the iMac has some problems with Windows 7 because of Sandy Bridge. Can you tell me how you set up Windows to get it to run like this, please?

  • @zer0hvk Hello friend. The problem you are referring to might be related to the fact that you have a 32-bit operative system, which are known for not using (maybe properly) more than 4GB of RAM. I'm not very experienced with 32-bit, but I think there is a way to enable more RAM. I'm not sure, really.

By the way, have you tried updating your display drivers? Skyrim, as a console port, is very badly optimised, so AMD might be working on a hotfix to patch the game's performance issues.

    Good luck!

  • @PolloSpeedo Thanks a lot for the quick reply! I'll try installing 64-bit Win7. Did you do anything beside installing the AMD Drivers? Did you overclock it or something like that? I'm very new to PC gaming in general, not only on a Mac. Any help or advise would be very appreciated :)

    Thanks again!!

  • @zer0hvk No, the only thing that I did was install AMD's Catalyst 11.10; no overclocking nor voltage rising. I'll be glad to help if you have any more questions, mate. Good luck!

  • @PolloSpeedo wow that looks so real

  • @TWISTER1534 Yeah, the landscape is impressive. I'd never been so impressed by a game! lol
