  • who could probably dislike this?.... bass player...? haha

  • Fuck wieners

  • Why does he clap for himself? Is he high?

  • A solo makes audiences very "Dizzy" :)

  • Awesome.. always a pleasure to hear him play.

  • So Amazing!! Its very rare to see drummers play that melodic!

  • wow! just awesome

  • Damn, I didn't know Seth Rogen played the drums!!

  • If I could play this well (and I certainly can't), I would be sweating profusely. The man is not breaking a sweat or breathing hard. He makes it all seem so effortless. He has the mark of someone who plays with consummate skill and musicianship. Well done!! Thanks for posting.!!

  • @castlehilldude Yeah, insane efficiency. It's amazing to watch.

  • Very interesting playing approach. He plays so melodically that you can hear the whole big band playing with him. Its definitely a different approach than someone like Elvin who is pulling you away from the rhythms in the head. I like both- its hard to pull off either well. Im usually stuck playing licks...

  • that's a badass drum sound

  • Jeff Hamilton is such a great drummerist.

  • Magnifique!!

  • what the fuck is a drummerist and how does one think?

  • This is the SimCity 3000 drummer.

  • 曲が聞こえる・・・

  • i think that this is the best example of how a drummer must think while playing...... the song.

  • dudes amazing

  • wow...that pretty much says it all

  • 'Like a musician instead of a drummer' (ignoring drummerist), is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Don't be a retard. If you listen to -good- drummers, you discover we're all musicians.

  • If you sing the melody along with him you will get a great appreciation of what he is doing. Following the form of the tune. This is killer! A real artist!

  • im speechless, he has consistent pitches no matter how fast he go's. absolutely amazing.

  • Haven't seen hand work that good since Joe Morello

  • Great!!! Jeff.

  • one of the best jazz drummers in the world. that was awesome

  • cant here the form at all but i love his playing

  • What is this taken from? I would really be into purchasing this if it's on a DVD. There was a clip of this solo within the song performance when he was with the Ray Brown Trio, but it got removed from YouTube a few months back.

  • Plays the melody with his hand...wow wtf

  • wow. some of those hand licks seem like they came strait from "the song remains the same" live version of moby dick. i wonder if John Bonham stole it from somewhere else too? Either way...I ve seen Jeff hamilton play at least sever or eight times in person and he always sounds good.

  • @totigerus Bonham did not steal, but was heavily influenced by Joe Morello and probably picked up on Joe's occasional playing part of the Take Five solo with his hands.

  • drummerist? god, you're brilliant

  • @VeryLargeRat hey, don't be drummist.

  • not in any way comparing the two, but this reminds me of Terry Bozzio, only Terry Bozzio needs a 6 million piece kit to be this musical.

  • Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!

  • i love how he has time in the middle of this amazing solo to adjust his cymbals

  • fucking musical
