For starters I'm a sigma so I'm kind of neutral in this argument. This guy could have went went to Habitat for Humanity to do community service... Before I pledged I did meals on wheels with some Iotas because one of them lived down the hall and invited me. this is funny...every org has similarities to a previous org..I am a Mason I've studied all D9 orgs. .When I entered college in '95 the only org I knew about was omega so I was drawn to that org BUT I soon realized omega and I were not the right fit(no disrespect to the men of omega)..So it happens all the time BUT some people won't admit it!
I am currently in the same position as this man. I have attended events for one fraternity but after meeting the members, I dont feel like I am in the right place. I am not far in the process but I have already started going to another fraternity's events and I feel at home. He didnt do anything wrong. I know many people would do the same exact thing

I'm talking about the fact that KAPsi was founded in 1911 as KANu, then changed their name b/c white boys were callin them the Nword AND b/c their founders didn't do due diligence in the organizing of its frat) to KAPsi in 1915! A frat so nice it had to be named twice; or is that "thrice" when you add PhiNuPi to the equation! So if KANu was founded in 1911, wouldn't that mean that KAPsi was founded in 1915! I remember reading somewhere that it was just KA i think like 1904. However, due to the fact that there was not enough people to get it started it stopped. Presumably due to the fact that there werent as many blacks in school and support for those type of organizations were difficult to muster, as we can see in Omega's history with the resistance they faced. Once one of the founders picked it back up, he kept most of the name from the original KA. maybe the Nu cahnged from racial slurs. idk.

For starters I'm a sigma so I'm kind of neutral in this argument. This guy could have went went to Habitat for Humanity to do community service... Before I pledged I did meals on wheels with some Iotas because one of them lived down the hall and invited me. I never wanted to pledge their org, and I didn't go with any intentions of trying to get to know them. Just didn't have anything going on that morning and wanted to give back.

Diggs and Armstrong, were not Alpha Material in 1909-10. Before it was Kappa Alpha Psi, it was Kappa Alpha Nu and before that it was Alpha Omega. maybe you need to try again.

this is funny...every org has similarities to a previous org..I am a Mason I've studied all D9 orgs. .When I entered college in '95 the only org I knew about was omega so I was drawn to that org BUT I soon realized omega and I were not the right fit(no disrespect to the men of omega)..So it happens all the time BUT some people won't admit it!

I'm talking about the fact that KAPsi was founded in 1911 as KANu, then changed their name b/c white boys were callin them the Nword AND b/c their founders didn't do due diligence in the organizing of its frat) to KAPsi in 1915! I remember reading somewhere that it was just KA i think like 1904. However, due to the fact that there was not enough people to get it started it stopped. Presumably due to the fact that there werent as many blacks in school and support for those type of organizations were difficult to muster, as we can see in Omega's history with the resistance they faced. Once one of the founders picked it back up, he kept most of the name from the original KA. maybe the Nu cahnged from racial slurs. idk.

what roots? that you had a club. lol. many blacks had clubs, but only one was first to have the vision to create a black collegiate brotherhood. Hell your own founder didn't even have vision. December 11, 1915 Diggs wrote a letter to the Sigma general board "describes as an unusual bid" in Sigma history to merge. I'm sure the success of the Alphas was the motive behind Diggs wanting to merge with the Sigmas in an attempt to form a larger fraternity. Learn some history boy.

How do we owe a CLUB anything for Alpha being Incorporated when the fact remains that there were plenty CLUBS out there at the time. Not all of our founders were Masons but we do recognize their roots within our fraternity. If you knew anything about history you would know that fredrick douglass was a relative of one of our founding jewels and was integral(that means important)in the early stages of our fraternity and was just as much apart of the fraternity, kind of like havin a friend that helps out cause they want to see you succeed but doesn't want credit for anything thats fredrick douglas role in the fraternity so in esence he was an alpha before he died and was recognized posthumous(which means after death)

My father was a Kappa and he pledged at the Alpha chapter...I started undergrad with the same aspirations but Kappa was not for me. I saw light in Alpha and Im a proud Alpha man and would never applaud a brother of mine for taking the time to do a video like this.
