  • Why the hell are you doing this on a smith machine? If you knew anything about barbell rows, you would know that the movement is not a straight line, but rather an arc. Not only that, but the movement is not perpendicular with the floor. It's on an angle. Just watch your movements in this video and you'll see it's all wrong. Smith machines were invented for presses. Leave it at that.

  • @hulkout666 If you listened to the video I said to use a barbell. I was using the smith machine for demonstration only. Also I am not perpendicular. The row should be done using the hip hinge technique at about 15 - 25 degree hip flexion assuming the core is strong enough. If my initial assessment of a client shows poor core strengthening and conditioning, I would not implement any rows be it barbel or cables. Next time do your research or ask a question nicely and I'll school you.

  • What's the benefit of having a wider grip?

  • @LISdafreestyler

Thanks for watching! The wider grip is to make your back wider and really hit the lat's (latissimus dorsi) which is the largest muscle in your back.

  • @FitproFitness What about if your grip is closer together, what does it work on instead?
