this is the real Teochew Tradition!!!!!! this is what we do for people who reach 15 of age, no matter if you are a boy or girl, we have to go throught this!!!!

This is a very old Teochew custom when a girl turn fifteen years old, will leave the garden wearing red. Thank you for posting this video. It brings back such sweet memories. I was 15 once, and went through all the Teochew customs, and "Cho hwei uen" was one of them.

My mom bought me the bought me the "cha kia" ( wooden slippers) when i was 15 too. Wore Purjama at staid at home.
