  • Great live version.

  • amazing enery!!!

  • DOOOD...

    Because of this song..

I AM NOW IN LOVE WITH MUTEMATH hahaha

  • whatta song! whatta band!!

  • I think his hair gets progressively shorter....

  • @mefington and Roy's hair gets exponentially longer!

  • The keytar is soooooooo lame... but they make it work!

  • how could you honestly dislike this song?

  • they do quite alot of gimmicy stuff but their music is too good to take any notice of it

  • awesome live!!!!!!

  • may i say even better on live!!!!

  • That was awesome!

  • fucking amazing live band! also darren king (the drummer) is like a god

  • I'm not the only one who thinks that he sounds a lot like Sting on this track? Quality stuff this. Chaos is like Sting collaborating with Roni Size.

  • @CtrlCCtrlVx3 No, you're not the only one

  • These Guys STOLE THE SHOW!!! They played w/30secs to mars in Washingon DC. They were mad awesome, blue mars away!

  • Wow! Haven't heard a record like this in YEARS! Still get chills...AMAZING!

  • In a world of fake talent and pitch correction, Mute Math can actually come through with their performances live just as good if not better than on their album. Pure talent.

  • you can't even hear any piano in the song, is he really playing it? lol

  • scratch that, I just heard it and now I recognize it every time.

  • @tcmabes yeah, He has a special piano turn your volume up, I cant explain the sound, you'd have to watch his fingers and listen.

  • omg the sound on this show is horrible. i feel bad for the bands that are capable of so much more than this and just are screwed over by the sound set lol

  • Ohh shhh.. Paul looks so hot. I love him.. So sad I will never see them live :( They are incredible!!

  • oh god, it's impossible to describe how I want to see these guys @ ROck in Poznan in Poland in 2011!

Darren King is one of the most amazing drummers of this decade, they are so fucking great!

  • wow

  • very impressed!!

    and i'm very old school..

these guys have talent and taste..

    and drive!!

i want to see them live.

  • they're so sick..

i'm going to see them in 3 days!!!

  • Awesome! You're going to love it. :)

  • Who cares what or who THEY're talking about! The point is to decide what the song means for YOU! That's all any songwriter wants: for their songs to mean something to someone else!

    Love this band!

  • Very well put! I feel the same.

  • Well techincally they´re not a christian band. Although the band member might still be christian. Lyrics and songs have to be more precise to be put in genre, like in this case christian music.

  • greg looks like a hippie its so cute : )

  • the drummer is sick~!

  • kinda reminds me of sting

  • still (and probably *always*) one of my most favorite MuteMath tunes...... they are simply AMAZING.

  • Degrassi put me up on this song back when i use to watch it this song is cool

  • I love this song so much!!!! I can't wait for their new album to come out. :D I didn't know they were on this show though. I hope Craig will have them back on some time soon.

  • This could be about anyone, not necessarily Jesus unless they told you that personally and seriously.

  • Technically your correct... but more than likely they are talking about Jesus, or the Judai-Christian God

They are a christian band, yet not marked in that genre

  • Comment removed

  • This song is about Jesus, for those of you who don't know. I love Mute Math! They're an amazing band and this is my favorite song by them. I also love their song, "Spotlight", which is on the Twilight Soundtrack. :D

  • sounds like the police a little bit

  • for real. specially the way he sings on some songs I can tell he listen to sting.

  • That was an amazing performance. I think I'm now a fan of this band called 'MUTEMATH'

  • I love the fact that they're bringing back the keytar. My two cents:)

  • mutemath is now my favorite band ever since I saw them on craig, they are so freaking good.

  • Man, this video has amazingly full sound and good video clarity! Great job, NeoMorpheous!

  • Paul continues to rock in Mute Math! Man, those guys rock! And for those who don't know, that sick bass player is named Roy Mitchell-Cárdenas, the crazy drummer is Darren King, the unique guitarist is Greg Hill, and that energetic lead singer and keyboardist is Paul Meany.

  • i love this song! mute math is awesome!

  • EARTHSUIT FOREVER!!!!

  • i whole-heartedly concur!

one of the best bands to ever exist.

  • i love this drummer! tiny kit, huge playing! how does he do it with two cymbals? its like wth?

  • This is seriously the band to beat at the moment, both compositionally and live.

  • Anyone Paul Meany chooses to work with will probably always be the musicians to beat, and I don't think half of the music world even knows they should be competing. The man knows how to put a good band together.

  • I had the pleasure of seeing Mutmath in an incredibly small venue in Birmingham Al. It was an amazing show, they are really great live....

  • I LOVE THIS SONG.

  • the drums and the bass are freakin beastin it up in this song

  • their rhythm section live really is unbelievable

  • @undiscoveredmidget

That's Roy and DK for ya. =D

  • Wow I'm amazed at how many views this video has gotten! This is on my old account. :)

  • I swear it's like Keith Moon has been re-incarnated

  • Usually I'd call someone out for blasphemy on a comment like that but... damn! That was pretty much my reaction too.

  • Need a new album from these guys soon.

  • Darren's DRUMS ARE TAPED UP THAT IS AWESOME

  • If you love this check out his work with his former band Earthsuit.

  • darren king is my hero =]

  • same here!!

  • GO MUTEMATH!!!! Chaos law! Wewt

  • They're like a new age electronic Police, with hints of Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins

  • your soooooo right.and i LOOOOVE all of them xD

  • Great new original band. Great album. Hints of great bands past but still completely original.

  • their style is unique, I love it

  • they're amazing both live and on the cd!!

  • I am loving the Fender Rhodes!!! Original black. They have so much groove. You gotta want to dance.

Its like, on one side of the spectrum you have Mute Math.

On the otherside, you have The Mars Volta. One and the same but on different levels.

  • reminds me police

  • Yeah I know, the lead singer kind of sounds like Sting. These guys are sweet!

  • yeah sorta.

  • darren king is a BEAST.

  • da drummer rockz..

  • does anyone know where i could find their performance of 'Break the Same' from Late Night with Conan O'brien? i absolutely fell in love with that live performance.

still, this one was very very awesome. kudos Mute Math; all you guys are talented and inspire musicians everywhere :)

  • Ive been lookin for it too. i think that cbs had all the videos of that performance taken down. good thing i tivoed it and kept it on my tv.

  • their drummer is so sick!!!

  • why doesn't roy bust out with the bandanas anymore?

  • i mean hand stand! anyway does not matter, cause MUTEMATH ROCK! they are awesome!

  • Yes you're right! He usually does that head stand on that piano. i think it is a Rhodes piano.

  • this video doesnt give paul meaney any justice. i just saw them live a few weeks ago and it was amazing!

  • I've met these guys and they are great...and hot:) They are one of the best live bands I have EVER seen. Control is my favorite.

  • Paul Meany formed a band originally called Math with the ex-drummer from Earthsuit, Darren King. Soon after, Greg Hill and original Earthsuit member Roy Mitchell joined the band and changed the name to Mute Math due to problems from using the name Math. Adam LaClave has formed two bands, Club of the Sons and Macrosick. Club of the Sons currently tours with Mute Math. Mute Math has released an EP called Reset and a self-titled debut album.

  • Mute Math. It started with a band called Earthsuit. The band featured Adam LaClave, Paul Meany, David Hutchison, and Dave Rumsey. Their only commercial album "Kaleidoscope Superior" was a moderate success but the song "One Time" was a hit in christian music. In 2001 they split up due to music conflicts.

  • he has an amazing voice, i dont think english is his first language. its almost like he has an accent. it seems like he forgot the words in the first verse, I'm not sure....

  • He's from New Orleans...

  • @NeoMorpheus Yep, if anything, he's got a bit of Cajun.

  • hahahaha he's awesome!! he's got a bit of Sting in him!

  • wow he totally does! haha

  • They've got some great keyboard programming live.

  • I really think that all the guys and girls who mentioned that it doesn't matter whether the band's christian or something are amazing. Mute Math are amazing for sure. You are definately people with amazing musical tastes. Keep on rocking.

  • Yeah, These guys are good, but I liked em when they were called 12 RODS!!!

  • *Nod*. Who gives a damn if they're Christians, or have Christian-oriented lyrics? If they make good music, they make good music. Lyrics are the absolute LAST thing I consider when listening to a song, but I'm most definitely in the minority there.

That being said, I love the drummer / bassist. The guitarist is fine, too. The singer however, leaves something to be desired, especially live. Just my two cents.

  • why does it matter if their chistian or not their clearly really good and are going to be liked by anybody no matter if the band happens to be muslim jewish christain or athiest.

  • Im so tired of this Christian rock argument. Who really cares who's Christian and who's not? The Christian music industry is more evil than the secular industry and I understand why bands leave. Been there....

  • loved them as earthsuit and still love em as mutemath

    they go waay back.

  • that was awesome

  • One of the banes of this American Church is that, because we exist in a country that labels and categorizes everything to sell it better, that we've adopted that for ourselves. I think the more that Christians work within the "secular" music world, where they're judged by their music and not just by their label, the better "Christian" music will get.

  • Bravo Bravo!! Well said. Who cares, really?! If it's good music, it's good music!

  • Their exact religion aside, I've yet to hear a Beastie Boys song called "Hosha'anah Rabah". If someone in a band says they're a Christian, their music is automatically categorized by their faith and not instrumental genre. Creed had more obvious Christian overtones and yet they were never tagged as a "Christian band".

  • People tried to tag them as a Christian band though.

  • They are a Christian band. Seriously look it up. The former band name was Earthsuit which was definitely Jesus freak material. They were more techno then. X_x I miss that.

  • UnliftedSoul: I was talking about Creed, not Mute Math. (I'm ArmyOfPie)

  • Christian by faith, not genre. The Beastie Boys are Buddhist, but you wouldn't go out and call them a Buddha-worshipping band.

  • The Beastie Boys are Jewish.

  • I can guarantee you that there is a christian based message in each song. Its the message that counts they are not competing on how many gods, or jesus' are written in each song. Like spynalcrd said they are looking to reach out the mainstream crowd not only the christian crowd, that would be kind of selfish . If you look it at this way they probably reach more people in the mainstream world than christian artists do. non-christians run away from a song with jesus written all over it.

  • great cd, amazing band. the drummer is one of the most creative drummers ive ever heard. and the keytar makes this band even sweeter

  • why?...is it for the lyrics ?..what does it say?...are those lyrics christian?...why did jad gillies from hillsong sing control of mute math?

  • They're talking about God, and they are all Christian, yes. But they don't usually play in a Christian setting.

  • They don't want to be marketed as a Christian Band because the Christian music industry only markets to people who are already Christian. Mute Math wants to play at clubs and bars so they can move people looking for that musical connection in a positive direction. They don't want to be shelved in a small section of a music store. They're open to play in front of anyone and everyone.

  • Well said :)

  • agreed.. my point exactly

  • I agree with that as well... but that doesn't mean they're any less Christian.

  • is this a christian band?

  • They are all Christian, but they aren't considered a Christian band.

  • Mute Math is incredible. They have the best live shows!!! My favorite band.

  • Agreed!
