Let me tell you something Paris, I had converted 3 people to the Jehovahs Witnesses, I was preaching actively and knew more about the Bible then any other young person at the Kingdom Hall. In fact why all the other kids were to busy living a double life I was active in slaving for "Jehovah's Organization". Mathew fabricated scripture with regards to Herod slaughtering children under 2 when Jesus was a baby.Why didn't Luke mention this in his account? The only mention of this is in Mathew.
Mathew's story mirrors the story of Moses when he was a baby,who was also hidden when the Pharoah had males under 2 killed as well. It is thought that Mathew embellished this story to make Jesus look more important.

Metaphorically I believe that Jesus opened a lot of blind eyes to the Truth. The thirst he referred to was God's word which when one drinks makes one drunk or light headed with Truth,as wine would make one light headed. That's why God's water is wine.
Whether or not this happened literally I couldn't say, I wasn't there to see it. I've learned from what he taught,it has turned my life around.Whether these events actually happened isn't important to me, but what he taught "is" important to me.
I believe he awakens the "spiritually" dead. I believe he is doing this "now" and has no need to wait for the end of this age.
His 'teachings' resurrect folks every day, the kingdom of heaven is within, "now." This is part of what he taught. He never taught that mankind must "wait" to receive heaven within.
His moral compass leads to peace within, whether it is followed is up to the individual. It takes some individuals longer than others to learn this, none of them are to be condemned.
The important thing is what does it tell 'you.' The only person that can answer this for you is the actual author of this gospel, what was in his own mind when he wrote it?
As far as people leaving their graves physically,I can't say that I believe that, I would be lying if I said I believed it. I believe people leave their spiritual graves because one isn't able to live apart from their Creator. The body suffers as well as the intellect. What goes in the mind manifests in the body.
Creator, Source, One, Presence.. God is called many things. No, I don't believe a donkey talked I wasn't there, were you?
There was also a real St. Nick who gave to children who had nothing. Mankind has embellished this man over the centuries into something they wanted him to be, a flying sled driver with reindeer!
Yes, he existed, but man has embellished his existence, just like man has embellished the existence ofJesus with sensationalism.

What I believe should have no importance to you, what you believe has no importance to me except that it brings you comfort. God is also called Creator, yes.
I have my own personal beliefs about Jesus because I have read more than one book about him. My personal relationship with Jesus will not be like your own relationship with him, or anyone else's. I'm happy for what you believe, but what you believe isn't exactly what I believe. Beliefs change daily with new discoveries.

Have you ever read the lost books of the bible or the rejected books of the bible or the gnostic gospels? They shed an entirely different light on Jesus.
I do believe he suffered tremendously for mankind, that is why what he did for mankind will last eternally and has had a great impact on humankind.
Why should you get so upset over what "I" personally believe? I'm happy for you and your personal comforting beliefs. I would never get upset because of what you just shared with me.
My prayers go to you and the people you Bless with word of Jesus Christ. He has changed my life eternally. Fallen into the fleshly act of homosexuality, I was tempted by the devil and the heathen that follows him. The Hebrew/Jewish name of Jesus is Yeshua or Yehoshua, which means GOD who is salvation. I Timothy 3:16 says GOD was manifested in the flesh. In John 8:58 Jesus said before Abraham was I AM, which is the same name by which GOD introduced himself to Moses. I do not believe there is any group out there that can deny who Jesus is, and still have the revelation of TRUTH. Jesus said to Nicodemus, you must be born again. Well, that is the starting point. It is not about a church, but a relationship.

thats good for you..I left when I was 17..and had to move out..shunned for 12 years..complete shunning..brother and sisters...now they talk to me and are guarded with being preachy to me because they know how much I have studied the scriptures AFTER i left...I still suffer from the shunning but i dont regret it at all..Went to a district assembly after not goign for 20 years..just to go see my nephew baptize (I dont believe in how they do it but he asked)...and made out ok..I wont go back..lol

I have to deal with much more difficult situations now as a Christian then when I was a Jehovah's Witness. Id perfer you do not judge me and speak about things you have no idea about.(Matthew 7:1)

Do yourself a favor before you waste another precious day brainwashed by the cult you love so much; do some independent research on the year Jerusalem fell to Babylonian captivity. I know your governing body teaches it was 607, and believe me, they are the ONLY ones who promulgate such a date. Go to some credible historians and scholarly sources. From there, question everything. You might just have a life if you do. Good luck.

@PublishingCult i have done independent research from the orginal greek text and so forth and have found no evidence of what you say..further more even if i could disprove one thing that jw's say that doesnt mean that i still dont follower their teachings. im sure i could disprove a lot of things about a lot of religions and not just religions but a lot of things but that doesnt mean that i all of a sudden dont believe in them. i am who i am and have not been brainwashed by anyone but thanks!

How sad......was a buddist, and somewhat study with christians.....I 've gone thru so much more and yes unlike you i learn from David. Not sure if I believe everything that you are saying because they are the most peaceful people I've known. Maybe it is best that you go your path because the short easy way out might be worth it for you.

Let me tell you something Paris, I had converted 3 people to the Jehovahs Witnesses, I was preaching actively and knew more about the Bible then any other young person at the Kingdom Hall. In fact why all the other kids were to busy living a double life I was active in slaving for "Jehovah's Organization". Do not insult me by saying I was "lazy" and that was my reason for leaving the religion. Do you know what Ive lost by leaving? Its sad how ignorant people can be and think such garbage.

Newagegamer, I wish you had realized that instead of sliding from one religion to another, maybe you should have simmered in spiritual neutrality for awhile. Consider the idea that this life is an imperfect life so that we can build character and learn. I'm not talking about generation-X-buhddism of some other trendy Eastern religious crap. I'm just suggesting accepting that there is a higher power that does not want to be seen. Try to look at the Bible as practical wisdom soaked in mythology.

Uh no. Being spiritually neutral means that you are able to see the bible from a perspective that is unbiased. Assuming that Jesus existed and that he is the Saviour of mankind renders one unable to look at the bible for the historical document that it is. Just a document. It is full of condradictions and "symbolic" visions. It's these symbolic images of imaginary animals and supernatural happenigs that give madmen creative license to create bizzare religions that desperate people take as truth.

If God brings wrath on this Earth and destroys and sends to eternal torment intelligent, well-meaning, good-hearted people for choosing not to go on the endless search to verify writings that are thousands of years old, he is not a god worthy of worship. Good for you, Brian. There is life outside of the organization. I've been through it too. Your example will surely empower others to do the same. I was the PO at Jefferson Spanish in Brooklyn when I realized the truth about the WT cult, so I can understand what is involved in leaving. My family and I are happy to be out and free.

Mathew fabricated scripture with regards to Herod slaughtering children under 2 when Jesus was a baby.Why didn't Luke mention this in his account? The only mention of this is in Mathew.
Mathew's story mirrors the story of Moses when he was a baby,who was also hidden when the Pharoah had males under 2 killed as well. It is thought that Mathew embellished this story to make Jesus look more important.
This is confirmed by history scholoars.A lot of the bible has been embellished like it or not.

No, I do not take man's word, that is why I question a lot of the bible because it was written by "man." Not all of it is literally God's word.
There are bible scholars that say their is a lot of fabrication and embellishment in the bible, they have evidence that proves this.
Do your own research instead of denying what thousands have learned already through their own research with regards to the bible and its contents.
It's not to be taken literally, a lot of it is metaphorical.

Metaphorically I believe that Jesus opened a lot of blind eyes to the Truth. The thirst he referred to was God's word which when one drinks makes one drunk or light headed with Truth,as wine would make one light headed. That's why God's water is wine.
Whether or not this happened literally I couldn't say, I wasn't there to see it. I've learned from what he taught,it has turned my life around.Whether these events actually happened isn't important to me, but what he taught "is" important to me.

I believe he awakens the "spiritually" dead. I believe he is doing this "now" and has no need to wait for the end of this age.
His 'teachings' resurrect folks every day, the kingdom of heaven is within, "now." This is part of what he taught. He never taught that mankind must "wait" to receive heaven within.
His moral compass leads to peace within, whether it is followed is up to the individual. It takes some individuals longer than others to learn this, none of them are to be condemned.

As far as people leaving their graves physically,I can't say that I believe that, I would be lying if I said I believed it. I believe people leave their spiritual graves because one isn't able to live apart from their Creator. The body suffers as well as the intellect. What goes in the mind manifests in the body.

What I believe should have no importance to you, what you believe has no importance to me except that it brings you comfort. God is also called Creator, yes.
I have my own personal beliefs about Jesus because I have read more than one book about him. My personal relationship with Jesus will not be like your own relationship with him, or anyone else's. I'm happy for what you believe, but what you believe isn't exactly what I believe. Beliefs change daily with new discoveries.

Have you ever read the lost books of the bible or the rejected books of the bible or the gnostic gospels? They shed an entirely different light on Jesus.
I do believe he suffered tremendously for mankind, that is why what he did for mankind will last eternally and has had a great impact on humankind.
Why should you get so upset over what "I" personally believe? I'm happy for you and your personal comforting beliefs. I would never get upset because of what you just shared with me.
