I'm a fan of both Stefan/Elena and Damon/Elena so it makes for fun watching for me personally. But scenes like this are the reason why I think that Elena should ultimately be with Stefan. At this point in the series, Damon just seems way too abusive for Elena. That might change later on down the road, but right now, no. Still love him though. Actually I love this entire freakin' cast! :D

loved the way they hugged. The three actors are really really good. Stefan's fear and love for elena is really shown. Damon's sense of betrayal is well-acted and the way he let her go and they way stefan hugged her is really breathless. WHOEVER picked that cast should be hugged & kissed fiercely ..heheh love adore this series and STELENA for EVEEEEEEEEEEEER

Where's Seth? So, this Damon has a love but I think he has feelings for this modern one but he knows she in no way can every love him, so he goes after the old, buried one. And Stephan knows that Damon is desperate weither his brother loves this young one or the old. Excellent actors by the way. Whoever picked them out to be cast in this series deserves kudos. I knew Damon wouldn't hurt Elena (he's not that bad) and he has changed so much since this episode. Especially in the episode "Isobel" he showed that he really cared about Elena. I mean he threaten Isobel saying "If you hurt her [elena] I will rip you into bits."
Damon is a lot better now than in the beginning. I guess Elena brought out the best in him. =)

In the book Damon loves her and tries to convince her to leave Stefan (he's like Jacob in Eclipse), but he does turn her into a vampire in the book! When I saw this scene i was all like "this is it this is it. omg omg omg omg!" then when he let her go i was like "wtf?"

@oxSam11 I've read the books & I like both him as a character & with Elena. If he got together with Bonnie, it would just be so out of character of him in my opinion & plus it'll be like she's his second choice all the time, since he tries so hard to be with Elena.
You can tell that as angry as Damon is at Stefan and Elena, there's a lot more hurt than anger in his face. I like how he one moment threatens Elena and when Stefan gives him the book, he presses his face against her hair and then gently pushes her away from him. Damon is definitely not all inhuman and unfeeling in spite of being an "evil" vampire. He's a very interesting character!
Ok. This is what I have noticed, people are hating Stefan for what he did to Damon but have you guys forgotten that Damon has killed every single person Stefan cares for. Damon is the wrong one here. I am team Damon ALL THE WAY but I cannot understand why when Stefan decides to FINALLY step up for himself and to his bully of a brother, people are taking it as something UNFORGIVABLE!! I felt bad for Damon. He's so heart broken, this is the first time Iv'e really ever seen him show much emotion, I feel so bad for him, he really does love her. Damon does care but right now I think he is more focused on Katherine. I think he only really held her elbow in case Stefan tried to grab Elena and then the book, he just had her arm in case he needed to pull her back.
He doesnt want to pull her back because if you notice again, his hand is gently placed under her elbow and look at his face...it hurts him to let her go. He never wanted to hurt her and his arm is not gripping...just helping.
stefan wasn't trying to please their father. Stefan's was naive to think their father would have compassion towards Katherine which is his only crime.
I agree with fight4acause up there. I also thought at first that Stefan was only doing that to please their father but he proved me wrong there. He thought he could actually persuade their father, but he was wrong. Like he said, "I put my faith in my father but Damon put his faith in me."

I think Damon probably want to show with the "So you and I will have a vampire girlfriend" that the history can be repeated so easily. A girlfriend who is a vampire and plays with two guys. But mostly he wants to hurt Stefan with the thought about Elena becomes a vampire.

loved the way they hugged. The three actors are really really good. Stefan's fear and love for elena is really shown. Damon's sense of betrayal is well-acted and the way he let her go and they way stefan hugged her is really breathless. WHOEVER picked that cast should be hugged & kissed fiercely ..heheh love adore this series and STELENA for EVEEEEEEEEEEEER

Where's Seth? So, this Damon has a love but I think he has feelings for this modern one but he knows she in no way can every love him, so he goes after the old, buried one. And Stephan knows that Damon is desperate weither his brother loves this young one or the old. Excellent actors by the way. Whoever picked them out to be cast in this series deserves kudos. Thanks AJ for sharing.

I knew Damon wouldn't hurt Elena (he's not that bad) and he has changed so much since this episode. Especially in the episode "Isobel" he showed that he really cared about Elena. I mean he threaten Isobel saying "If you hurt her [elena] I will rip you into bits."
Damon is a lot better now than in the beginning. I guess Elena brought out the best in him. =)

In the book Damon loves her and tries to convince her to leave Stefan (he's like Jacob in Eclipse), but he does turn her into a vampire in the book! When I saw this scene i was all like "this is it this is it. omg omg omg omg!" then when he let her go i was like "wtf?"

You can tell that as angry as Damon is at Stefan and Elena, there's a lot more hurt than anger in his face. I like how he one moment threatens Elena and when Stefan gives him the book, he presses his face against her hair and then gently pushes her away from him. Damon is definitely not all inhuman and unfeeling in spite of being an "evil" vampire. He's a very interesting character!

Ok. This is what I have noticed, people are hating Stefan for what he did to Damon but have you guys forgotten that Damon has killed every single person Stefan cares for. Damon is the wrong one here. I am team Damon ALL THE WAY but I cannot understand why when Stefan decides to FINALLY step up for himself and to his bully of a brother, people are taking it as something UNFORGIVABLE!! I understand where you are coming from, and I am team Damon 100%, but would you rather have a whole town of people slaughter by Damon and Katherine and save the brotherhood or sacrifice that bond to save all those innocent people? I love Damon but that does not take away that he kills for the sake of it. he has made Stefan's life impossible, it's about time Stefan steps up for himself and to his brother!!

I felt bad for Damon. He's so heart broken, this is the first time Iv'e really ever seen him show much emotion, I feel so bad for him, he really does love her. I haven't really decided if I like Katherine yet...she was pretty much the reason for Damon and Stefans messy relationship. They used to be close but she got in the way, and she toyed with both of them, then decided to pretty much end their lives. I wonder what would happen if she did come back though...

Damon is NOT an innocent infact he is so far removed from that title, it isn't even funny. Stefan may not be perfect but he never betrays Damon to hurt him, he does it because he is scared for them or because what Damon has planned is dangerous!! I just don't get all this Stefan hate, when he is far more redeemable then Damon.

Damon does care but right now I think he is more focused on Katherine. I think he only really held her elbow in case Stefan tried to grab Elena and then the book, he just had her arm in case he needed to pull her back.

He doesnt want to pull her back because if you notice again, his hand is gently placed under her elbow and look at his face...it hurts him to let her go. He never wanted to hurt her and his arm is not gripping...just helping.
