Joan Chen on the set of Twin Peaks

Hate to say it, but Joan's character was my least favorite in Twin Peaks. I found her terrible boring and wooden, and it was mostly down to Joan's performance.

Then I found out that the part was originally intended for Isabella Rossilini and then I couldn't help imagining how much better it would have been with her in the role.

That's just a crap comment. The character is written, so we make what we can of this. Did the character find "closure"...in so many ways, ... uhm... yes.

All of us have varying backgrounds. In this case, Lynch is allowed proceed with his style of dynamic or on-the-fly writing/directing. As it stands, it works. Change a prop or a person: maybe not.

I thought she was alright. They meant for her to be more important in the third season. She was supposed to have a lot to do with the black lodge, thus providing a bridge between the mill and ghostwood conspiracy and the lodges. If you've seen FWWM 'Judy' is Jocy's sister.
