I was a teenager in the 50s/60s. My boyfriend and I used to listen to Johnny Mathis for hours, wonderful music when you're in love. Age knows no time with this music. To this day, I'm 66 now, I know every word and the music still makes me feel like a teenager.
So amazing and beautiful, and I can hear how young he was by the sound not only the date of the recording. But he was spectacular then and now, developing his beautiful gifts over the years more than anyone could have conceived. Mystic47 really hit the nail on the head, so to speak, about JM's genuine singing work and what others can learn from it.
Speaking of interviews, go to Tavis Smiley interview with him aired oct 2010.Johnny spoke of his career, how he got there, spoke of his father's influence....he is very casual and real.....I learned even more about him, I will be seeing him in Cleveland on April 1st. I haven't had the opportunity since 1985. He is even more beautiful and charming now. "Until the Twelfth of Never", we will still be loving you that will never change .
45 years ago I sang a solo of this at a high school competition and got a SUPERIOR. I loved this song then and still do. It has beautiful lyrics and is sung beautifully by Johnny Mathis.
A video every American Idol contestant or wanna be, should be listening to. This is the perfect example of what serious voice training can do for a long and lucrative recording / concert career. I heard Johnny Mathis say in a radio interview, im paraphrasing, if u choose this as ur career, u better be able to sing at the drop of a hat, and sing what and when they tell u. So says the E.F Hutton of singing. So if Johnny Mathis says this is how to have a 50 + years recording career, i would listen.
Actually this was reissued under the "Two For One "label, the other album is Johnny's Mood I bought it off Amazon, for around £4 Wonderful as my old copy of Faithfully was showing some wear an tear
@trebloc5 Costco the warehouse had it in there cd & movie section a few years ago. It was a cd collection of ALL his music starting from the very 1st record to present day. Wasn't more than $50.00. It was comprised of 6 cd's or so. The only thing is that you have to have a membership to shop, & is there a Costco in your area?!
Wow! My first time hearing Johnny Mathis sing this favorite song of mine. I had no idea he had recorded it. I am always looking for Sammy Davis Jr.'s version, which is also great. But this is SWEET! Thank you so much.
lady you are the greatest, on this album cover he looks like his yougest brother michael mathis(my best freind) we went to his brothers, high school george washington( johnny graduated from george washington high) this song kept me company in the usf air force fromm 1966 to 1966 thank yopu so much.
I am an avid fan of Mathis. I saw him live in Munich, Germany in 1970 at the Deutches Museum. He was fantastic. He received two encores. The cost to attend was about $10.00 per person. Also, I saw him in 1973 in the Washington, D.C. area. Try listening to others like:My Love For You;I Look At You; and, All The Things You Are. I have been gifted to have a voice similar to Mr. Mathis. I use it to sing on my church choir. Have a Merry Christmas.
I believe I saw JM appear at the Warner's theater in DC. This Friday , Johnny will be in Atlantic City Casino .This will be the second consecutive Friday the 13th this year but people who listen to Johnny need not be afraid. Thanks cybernautev for the vintage photographs of Johnny.

I just listened to it. There are some parts that are familiar. It could have been a 45 on the pop records at the time. Back then they put out 45 singles before they did albums like they do today. If the 45 didn't make it to an album, I suspect it was lost.
you can buy the faithfully cd at play.com

Where can I purchase this CD or record?
trebloc5 2 years ago
Your best bet is to get the "Faithfully" LP off EBay as a used record. As far as I know it hasn't been made to CD.

available at CD Universe as "Faithfully/Johnny/Mood
