@LathamTV if your monitor is an LCD it connects to the back, if its an older CRT (like the one in this video) it connects to the cable hanging from your screen, usually blue (not the power cable)

Crt monitors are the shit, i have both hd tv, normal tv, crt monitor i'm using now, and a notebook with a led screen. I like my crt monitor for old games like emulators and pc games. Newer monitors are for hd gaming, but old games doesn't look all that great.

I got a DVI-D to VGA connector since i have two inputs in the back of the monitor.

One VGA and One DVI-D

I kept my Computer in the VGA and attached the connector to the other input .

So i figured that it would work and all i would have to do is just switch the button in the front from one device to the other..

But it didnt work???

I dont know why

Any help. or do i have to go and get that device and plug them all in and send it to the monitor.?

The problem is that you cant use both your computer and xbox 360 on the monitor. You'll have to keep switching the cable back into the back of the monitor when you want to use one or the other.

I have a DVI-D input and a VGA on the back monitor so i figured i LL keep my computer hooked into the VGA and I LL get a DVI-D / VGA connector for the other for the XBOX 360 and i ll have to just switch the button on the front of the monitor from one setting to the other and nothing happend . ..

Actually I upgraded to LCD because the picture is sharper and there's much less glare from any open windows. CRTs are hardly "the best monitors". Yeah, they have a good contrast ratio, great. They're also expensive and tiny. TVs switched to LCD/plasma because they look better.

uhh well.. you can kind of just.. look at the back of the monitor? If you see an HDMI slot, then your monitor supports HDMI. If your asking the question it probably doesn't.

Still VGAs not much worse (i think... dont have an HDMI xbox) and works with all monitors and looks just as good as a HDTV.
