  • you helped me a lot :D

  • I use chords like these for the basis of some of my originals its amazing how many different emotions you can convey through chords like these

  • dope chords but why would u call them bizarre?

  • What are the chords called?

  • Comment removed

  • Clannad have been using chords like this since the 70's

  • Hey you play so beautiful notes and chords, I'm trying to find magic songs . I guess you like ELP , genesis, etc where I've heard these sounds... please could recommend me some artists or songs??

  • hey try playing open G chord,C chord and D chord configuration on 5th fret...dis one also has a different kind of sound.

  • What type of chords are these by the way?

  • thanks man, ive been stuggling to find some nice sounding chords to put together for my new song, and youve just helped loads. Thanks :D

  • Sus chords add and broken chords mostly right?I love them.

  • AH HA! Spiral Architect by Sabbath, thats what 1:09 reminds me of

  • @garyandfriends Love that song! And you are right!

  • Sounds good when you play it, but not for me! *sadface*

  • Most of your viewers probably don't care, but it would've been nice if you mentioned the names of the chords. That way we (those of us who know a bit of theory) would know what context we would be able to use these chords in. Nice video, but that would have helped...

  • System of a down Chop suey song uses some of these chords.

  • awesome chords!!!

  • Just finished a 15-25 second ditty with these haha.

  • the one at 1:39 is used in call of ktulu

  • Extiende

  • They have a sort of Chinese music sound

  • I always use weird chords, the usual ones are boring, thanks for the video

  • I like the chords Bobby!

  • this chords are amazing. thanks i needed some new chords to play.

  • These chords remind me of Rik Emmett from Triumph, I saw your video where you showed your Triumph album so i'm guessing your a fan. Is there anyway you could do a guitar lesson for Triumph's song "Hold On"?

  • @GuitarMaster10011 Thanks! When I went to collage for guitar, I had the same teacher as Rik Emmett's teacher; Peter Harris.

  • @BobbyCrispy That's pretty awesome, my moms friend works with Rik Emmett at humber College.

  • these chords still work even if the guitar is tuned down a full step, right? also, I have D tuning, would it sound good if I played the scale as if m guitar was in E tuning or should i play the scales as if my guitar is in D tuning?

  • @Slaxl18 I'm guessing everything you'll play will just be one full step lower.

As for the scales, you need to play in whatever key you are trying to accomplish.

If you are a full step down and you want to produce sounds from the key of D major you'd have to play your scales as if you were playing in E major.

I think that's what you asked. sorry if the question wasn't directed towards me, just trying to help.

  • You're very good..gonna practice a bit more..thank you sir

  • This is probably your best guitar lesson in years. This is the kind of lesson I was waiting for

  • wow i was trying to compose a song with sad sounding chords and you uploaded this on time. Thanks for the Lesson!

  • Thanks Bobby keep on doing!

  • What did bobby say those chords were played on at 3:10?

  • C G Eb for the Star shiptrooper part

what is the scale or the theory

    if u know that

and anymore for starship trooper ie intro lead etc would be great

    thanks anyways

    thanks

  • did u make these up or are these real chords,if they are u should put their namws as annotations

  • @CYBERDUDE95 dude...any chords are real chords...any three notes are a chord, however bad they sound together it will have a name, like Eb7aug13

  • Interestin lesson, but... It would have been worth while explaining what the chords were called and why.

Although there is a lot of merit in not being bogged down by the theory and just going with whatever sounds nice.

  • Oh lol!

    You said it after XD

    well lol, ahahah

Should have just continued listening, instead of pausing like tht.

  • 3:02

xD Star Ship Trooper by Yes from the middle to the end...

    same exact chords lol

  • You should give some background on the chords. Tell people the notes, what they would be called. It is very important for people to understand how the chords work so they can find their own.

  • excelent!!

  • Thank you so much, I've been looking for a video like this for months.

    Keep rocking Bob!

  • good job.

  • this reminds me of zeldan somehow

  • Whoah dude these chords match my style!... but I'm not gonna use them 'cause you already made them..

  • Love this video <3

  • sweet chords Bobby !

  • Them chords make me feel as though I am floating on a cloud.. I think you should write your own song and include a lot of chords similar to them.

  • hey guys try playing a open C chord and move it 2 frets, it sounds incredible

  • hey bobby,

    thank you very much.

    thats very interesting.

i think i should write them all to paper.

    greetings from germany

    -michael

  • sounds like you have replaced the low four strings with octave strings from twelve string.

  • these chords remind me of pbs stuff haha but kool video

  • What type of guitar?? It sounds awesome!!!

  • i love you bobby, no homo

  • Bobby man, you need to make instructional DVDs lol

  • Fav!!!!!!

  • some of these remind me of the song of Diary of a Madman

  • Hahaha, I knew you were gonnna put "the wurm" in here! Such awesome chords. You need to make more of these chord videos, since chords are easier to pick up and use than songs.

    \m/ ROCK ON

  • I really like a C shape Emajor chord with the low E ringing out. May not be bizarre but i like the sound of it.

  • Thanks for the lesson

By the way, RHCP uses that C with the high G on Californication.

  • @mikedg18 RHCP Nice band its crazy how long it took for their popularity, my cousin liked them from begging way back in the 80s.

  • the 4th one sounds rly sabbathy its so good

  • What kind of camera do you use?

  • You want to tell us the names of these chords??

  • Hello Mr. Crispy. Nice. Reminds me of something Pink Floyd-"ish"-- I can't place it....

    Hello...hello... comfortably numb?

  • Hello Mr. Crispy. Nice.

  • yo bobby, if u like all these prog rock sounding chords u should def check out Opeth. Theyre like the pink floyd of metal haha

  • this video got a lot of views in 40 minutes >.>

  • your tutorials are the best no one teaches as well as you

btw i love the sound of your guitar what guitar is that and how much did it cost?

  • @ju1972iac

    Justin Sandercoe

    Marty Schwartz

    100x times better than Bob-o.

No offense Bob0. It is what it is.

  • @teh1owner ok thanks for your OPINION.

  • @BobbyCrispy Don't worry bobby your tutorials are best!

  • @BobbyCrispy

    No probs ;)

  • @teh1owner Hey jackass, do you pride yourself on being a D I C K? The difference between Marty and Bobby is Marty teaches you how to play some songs, Bobby teaches you how to play guitar. I doubt you would understand the difference. Maybe someday when you can play you will know what I mean.

Nice job Bobby, Don't listen to these morons.

  • @RedNeckEDU Hey, I would just like to point out that Marty teaches a lot more than just songs; he taught me scales, chords, concepts, and a lot of other stuff. Just saying.

  • @teh1owner

It doesn't matter at all who is better than whom. All of them are offering value, either you take what you get (for free) or you don't...

  • @teh1owner ive never heard of justin but marty shwartz lost all my respect when he did a tutorial for a jonas brothers song

  • @ju1972iac ( and aTaylor Swift song )

  • @ju1972iac Justin Sandercoe is a really good guitar teacher... and I understand that Bobby and Justin are in touch often at least through here (YouTube)

  • @radiohm3 yeah Justin Sandercoe is a great guitar teacher for sure.....but sadly i we've never spoke/messaged on youtube.....

  • excellent! :)

  • kwl

  • Hey Bobby, ever heard of the E-Bow? If not, check it out, buy it, do videos on it, its extremely fucking awesome.

  • Very nice!- BobbyCrispy Video Watching Veteran!
