  • Oh my God... I almost started crying. This brings back so many memories, mostly of my grandmother. I can see myself taking trips to her house after school and baking cookies, then watching the episodes she had recorded onto a VHS tape... This is.... a phenomenal television show. I miss Bob... :/

  • HAPPY 88TH BIRTHDAY BOB!!! WE LOVE YOU AND WE MISS YOU!!

  • What an amazing crowd for an amazing show !

  • I was in college, and skipped 2 class tests to watch this. Never regretted it since.

  • @cpabrandon wow lol. thats pretty hardcore. but yeah, Bob was way better than that Tub of Lard looking piece of shit Doug or whatever his name is.

  • she was supposed to give bob 1 dollar for the last number

  • i remeber when bob retired i cried I HATE DREW CAREY

  • me and my pop-pop watched this for years, this show.. since i was 5, i am now 15... when this episode was first broadcasting, about halfway through the the episode my grand-father died.

    RIP - Raymond weir

and RIP, the greatest thing of the Price is Right

  • 3 people overbid

  • @mikebahr87 It was never about Bob except when Bob didn't want certain prizes on the show because he didn't like them. Then it was all about Bob.

  • Bob Barker...an American icon if there ever was one.

  • ....or at least...she THOUGHT she won the Corvette, she have to sell the car after to be able to afford taxes lol, also she is not allowed to be outside the kitchen, she should not be driving, women drivers are dangerous.

  • Miss you Bob Barker :(

Also...WHY THE FUCK IS EVERYONE CLAPPING WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENDS ON THE SHOW?!

  • I saw the clip of his first TPIR opening from '72, and compared to this, it was like he was hosting a business seminar! lol

  • @quirpco - Well, at that point, it was a brand new show (let's ignore the NBC/ABC versions, of which there are a few kicking around Youtube - search "price bill cullen"). It's not possible to start a show that way. Deal or No Deal became a party atmosphere every game, but in its debut week it was all serious and repeating the same things 15 times an episode because no one knew the rules at that point.

  • I still enjoy watching the show everyday, but whenever I watch clips like these on youtube I always feel really sad that I missed getting to see him host in person by just 2 years...

  • I think we all know who would be a better host between Bob and Drew

  • Bob Barker will celebrate his 87th birthday tomorrow. Happy Birthday Bob.

  • @chuckers40 Is Dennis James still living, night time price is right host.

  • @doulasc Dennis James passed away in June 1997

  • skipped school that day to watch this one!

  • Awesome at 5:37

  • Barker didn't retire.

He was forced out by CBS.

All the lawsuits and sex scandals was not good for business.

They let him say he was retiring, but if Bob had his choice he'd still be hosting Price is Right.

    But he had no choice.

  • @berezin99 at the same time i agree with you, i gotta say i disagree... bob was 83 when this episode was filmed. i mean granted he did have all the lawsuits and sex scandals, he would've been forced out years before this, possibly in the early early 2000s, possibly even late 1990s. i agree, but disagree with you.

  • @LtSeth242 I heard this story from an article written about Barker and

all the off screen headaches he was causing CBS. I do beleive Barker was forced out.

And you see the guy here in this clip playing the aw shucks little old me role on camera.

But off camera the guy was a combination of Hitler and Atilla the Hun.

  • @berezin99 Oh, i know he was. things went his way or no way. But i disbelieve that he was forced out. Maybe they tried to edge him out slightly, but business is business, im sure they would've fired him if they didnt want him that bad. and plus, you gotta figure, he was exec. producer for some 17-20 years (im guessing). they would have gotten rid of him before everything went to his head.

  • @LtSeth242 I'm just jealous he got to screw Dian and I didn't!

  • @berezin99 Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!! That is a very good reason to be jealous.

  • fuck thst bitch is gross lol

  • I can understand people don't like change, but it happens. Change is the only constant in the world. Drew Carey doesn't suck at hosting the show, and as a matter of fact. shows much more emotion than I would've expected from him. He fits that show, and I'm glad to see him hosting it.

And yes, I miss Bob like everyone else. I grew up watching that guy. :)

  • I wonder if Denise will still be excited when she founds out the taxes she has to pay for that Corvett

  • $4567_, i would have said 8. and she got lucky at the beginning.

  • Drew is a good host, but there will never be another Bob Barker!

  • You all have got that right. It's NOT the same since Bob retired. Drew Carey is a joke as a host. Price is Right won't last.

  • @aviationwingnut it will be awhile before they find a host that is bob barkeresque

  • @sesomdt Well, awhile may be optimistic. I can't think of anyone who could replace Bob. The choice that CBS made has wrecked that program. It's pitiful. Longest running game show in history.....it needs to continue. But maybe with some unknown who is barkeresque? They better do something because, Drew Carey SUCKS as host. I don't even watch it anymore.

  • I know im not the only who says this, but to everybody who bids 1 dollar higher higher then somebody else,i have this to say : f*** you !!!

  • Bob barker is WAY better than Drew Carey no matter what

  • its bc Bob ALWAYS makes the games have more suspension and intensity- whereas Drew goes: "Actual retail price is- $3000; oh sorry you lose, commercial" and thats it! makes me kinda mad...

  • I skipped school on this day to watch Bob's last show. My mom and I watched Price is Right every day we could for YEARS til she passed away, and I wouldn't have missed this episode for anything.

  • His name is spelled BARKER, and he's got more time on BREAK than Drew does in the business. Succeed Barker? Ha. He was the host for 50 years. Let's see how long Drew gets.

  • doesn't it just send chills down your spine to hear the words "And now here is the star of the Price is Right...BOB BARKKEERR!!!" It does for me.

  • hell yes it does

  • @STOPobama1 It sends chills down my spine and tears to my eyes.

  • this is the first time I've watched this since 2007, and it stirred up all sorts of weird emotions. I think the show is still pretty good now, but when I go back and watch these episodes from just a few years ago, it always makes me sad.

Also, I've been watching so many clips from the 80's and 90's on youtube and so many new episodes that it was really weird to hear Rich announcing over the old "come on down" music!

  • I thought it was $45678. That would have been cool.

  • If you watch his stuff from the early 80s and then this one the effects of his stroke are obvious... he speaks a LOT slower....

  • My Cat died the same day this episode aired, So I lost my cat and my favorite game show host the same day.

  • I nearly cried when I watched this episode! I've always loved The Price is Right with Bob Barker, and watching this reminded me it would never be the same again! :( But I do hope Bob Barker is happy!

  • I really like this video because everyone has been out there waiting so long and all the contestants are full of energy! I'm glad that Denise won this car.

  • That's a sweet car. And I'm not even into cars.

  • you will be when you need to buy one

  • Season 38 has big changes, the light color border reverts back to normal color border during the One Bids, although the Silver border remains the same.

  • This was a sad episode to watch knowing it was his last. I remember seeing it when it aired, i think it was a Friday night at about 8:00, they aired it primetime.

  • It was bittersweet. Sweet to see Barker one last time, but sad knowing it was the last time he'd be hosting.

  • Because he retired, he was like 83 ffs. lol

  • lmao

  • why did they replace bob barker with drew carey?

  • well it was wither drew or rosey o'donald

  • God help us all if rosie was the host...i would have stopped watching the show altogether

  • thats why bob barker said no way she will be the host.

  • talk about lesser of two evils

  • ya im sure rosie would love working with all them girls

  • lol probably..but so would ellen degeneres but thats besides the point..lol

  • no the second won had the price her bid was closer

  • I have an aunt, well she passed away a couple years back but her husband at the time, had tickets to the show and actually ended up winning a trip to the Jamaica and some really nice camping equipment.

  • who really cares..either way it looks so happy..i love it

  • My friend Ryan, who I used to work with, won the showcase showdown. Here is the vid: watch?v=uqxGlfpEKdU

  • I just watch the vid.....very cool!

  • I love the music from this show. I was born in 1980 and I can remember watching this show since late 1981

  • this shows music has never changed some times they change the music along with sets

  • IMPORTANT NEWS: Bob Barker returns to "The Price Is Right" on the April 16 episode (taped March 25, 2009) to promote his new book "Priceless Memories". He is the focus of the showcases, one of which features a new truck. More info available on a Google news site, search news results on the search engine.

  • Looks like it went through?

  • I got sooo misty-eyed :(

  • whwnever bob comes out it makes me smile like a little kid...i get chills man

  • does anyone know the name of the song that plays in the background when they introduce the big screen TV?

  • did i mention you're a true pimp bob?

  • anyone notice the video playing on the tv is from the first show back in the day?

  • I knew that. It was from September 4, 1972. The first IUFB was, unfortunately, a fur coat. The first game played was "Any Number", and it was played for a Chevy Vega (which was won).

  • lol the girl in the green shirt sounds so funny

  • PIMP

  • my grandmother turned me on to this show and as far as i know there will never be another bob barker

  • When I used to stay home sick from school (back when there were only 3 channels!) I watched TPIR - I really miss him.

  • Thank you so much for posting Bob's final episode, dp2007. This was one of the most fitting entrances for Bob, as the audience helped celebrate his entrance to his legendary final episode.

  • I think for the 40th anniversery show, Bob should not only appear but help host it, like drew does a game and Bob go a game

  • If he is still with us by then and is in good enough shape to do that. You have to remember that Bob is very old! He's around 80 now isn't he?

  • i sure hope he's still alive by that time

  • I heard Bob will make a guest appearance sometime this season

  • no he's retired, and this was is final show.

  • thats not even funny

  • Comment removed

  • I agree.

  • It's the beginning of the end for Bob's career here. The confetti was appropriate to have thrown by the audience to comemorate the celebration, the excitement and the potential emotion that maybe taking place on the stage. I'm guessing that the line was 3 miles long for this episode. She played Lucky 7 well and great bearing the difficulty that game posses.

  • I heard that people were camped out for 7 days or more hoping to get in for bob's last show. I still get goosebumps when i hear the announcer introduce bob for that last time

  • i like drew carey, but it just ain't the same no more :'(

  • They definitely wanted a winner for that game...she could have picked five each time and won with ease

  • im gonna be a contestant this wednesday... too bad bob wont be there!

  • You know the difference between Bob and Drew? Bob has always been grateful for the response at each show and can still be seen thanking the audience in every episode he's taped (including here, watch his mouth move while the confetti falls); Drew on the other hand says different random things, and I don't think "thank you" is heard in such a grateful way as Bob says it.

  • bob barker is a pimp

  • awesome comment lol.

  • yea he is

  • i wish i could have gone to see that taping i would have had chills the whole time i was there...so surreal

  • I attended a taping in April 2007 and I had the chills as soon as Bob walked out on stage.

  • I still have this show recorded. I watch it from time to time to remember just how much he meant to all of us and how hard it was on me to see him go. STILL LOVE YA BOB!!

  • damn i love that beginning..so electric! whenever I need a pick me up I watch that

  • Boy, that is an old game! WOW .. I haven't seen that in a long time!

  • Rich did the best call in Price is Right, a nice big BOB BARKER! We Miss you Bob.

  • it still brings a tear to my eye to see that. the very last time bob would ever come through that door. I still feel that CBS should have ended TPIR no matter what they do it will always be Bob Barker's show

  • It is just sad that both Bob and Rich had worked only for 4 years. They have a great chemistry

  • Could you please tell me what dimension you're living in because you have been corrected over and over with his "RIP Bob" nonsense. He hasn't died. Stop trolling you idiot.

  • That has to be one of the best openings for a game show ever if not the best :) I love watching this video. My grandma used to watch the price is right all the time God rest her soul. I used to when I'd play hookie from school or sick. I'll miss ya Bob thanks for the memories :)

  • And denise in the lucky 7 is from right here in rockford, illinois.

  • Bob Barker= MR)(PRICE IS RIGHT)

  • I miss you Bob.

  • I can't believe it has been one year ago today that this last episode aired.

  • you know, i always wanted to go on the price is right when i was little. now i feel i can't if bob barker isn't there. it just doesn't seem right.

  • keep the population safe have them cooked THEN served lol

  • go to the GM website.

2008 Corvette Coupe starts at 49K.

  • I kind of noticed that bob's voice was a bit more somber than usual the entire show!

  • Love you Bob!

  • Bob Barker=Priceless

  • Bob was great. He was so classy. Drew can be a bit farce but that's b/c he was a comedian.

  • What a legend!

  • but he was an old legend and he will say

keep the pet poulation safe have them bayed or nuddered

  • bayed? LOL!

  • Or, even better, have them spayed or neutered.

  • I can't believe Bob didn't just bust out crying or something. I would have been totally overwhelmed if I was him - that crowd was insane!

  • Do you not think after he left that stage for the last time, that he didn't? :D

  • Oh I don't know that - I was just saying right at the moment he came out, that it was probably the craziest reception he's ever had on the show. I was just saying if I was him, it would have been too much for me to hold back, even on TV.

  • There will NEVER be another Barker! He IS The Price is Right

  • grats..winz corvette wow

  • There is something that really amuses me when I watch this video.

Phillip waited in line the longest to get in so you knew he was going to get called down. So he gets called down third and instead of taking the yellow (3rd) spot like he was supposed to, he tried to "cheat" a little and the 4th green spot which supposedly gives you an advantage. So what happened? That 3rd spot was taken by Denise who won the TV, the corvette and then beat Phillip in the final showcase for over $140k.

  • He didn't "cheat". You can take any podium you want when you're in the first four.

  • This was also the first episode where they used the camera that looks around the whole studio.

  • Denise was the last winner of the Bob Barker era. Congrats Denise hope u love the two cars

  • stacks of cash

first 36th year! new host drew carry !

    prizes galore!

    tones of fun !

  • Yup.

  • stacka of cash

    great game

first 36th year! new host drew carry!

    prizes grlore! tones of fun!

  • Bill Cullen was the first.

  • theres a chance that drew could be a good host too, remember that bob wasnt the first host of the price is right, more like the second host, drew is the third. dont know who the first one was

  • I love how I got everyone to chant "Bob! Bob! Bob!" I had that planned for like a week before it taped! Best episode of the entire season! Look at how a lot of people in the font had their fists up and were chanting! The Price Is Right audience is the best audience ever!

  • new host drew carry stacks of cash

    on cbs 36th year season

prizes galore! tons of cash and fun!

  • Way too fkin go Denise!!!

  • host is of the price is right drew carry

  • CONGRATS DENISE!!! I hope you LOVE the car!!!

  • I have a shirt that has a picture of Bob Barker, and underneath it, it says "Pimp". Enough said! We love you Bob, no one can replace you! I'm sure Drew will do okay, so just give him a chance.

  • stacks of cash prizes galore tons of fun new host drew

  • the star price is right 36th years season drew carry

  • drew price is right act1 balancegame 36th years season

  • Thank you so much for posting this-I wish I could have seen the show when it aired but I probably would have cried! I will miss Bob Barker very much-that show won't last without him!

  • that WAS sooooooooooo cool wow a corvette WTG girl.

  • I don't know any game show that opens with the energy this one does. And the funny thing is, it has changed very little for over 30 years.

  • make that 35

  • Just read that Drew Carey will be taking over as host of the price is right. It definately could have been worse. Drew is a nice guy. Nobody can fill Bob's shoes, but it sure beats Rosie O'donnell!

  • Well what did I watch yesterday morning??? I saw Bob Barker on TPIR... they are showing re-runs? What in the hell??? Just get someone new to host it... they did it for Johnny Carson for God's sake.

  • They always show reruns for TPIR in the summer. The season normally starts airing in September anyway.

  • so sad...

  • If there is a CBS exec who is seeing this now, I'd rather TPIR not be cancelled. I know it won't be the same without Bob Barker, but TPIR has been America's #1 daytime television game show for many years, and I would not DARE to let it down!

I would recommend finding a very good host. I know the host may not be the same as Bob Barker, but at least whoever it can be, they do just as good to keep the ratings of America's #1 show up.
