@AlwaysUpToVideos When you hit with anything OTHER than the tip of the sword when using your Down-Aerial Attack, the opponent doesn't go downward... The point is to hit them downward, in the direction of the gravity to lessen the chance that they'll be able to recover.

Acatually, DI'ing the direction the character is facing is easy if you use the C-stick to spike and leave the control stick solely for the DI =P.

The footstool hitstun makes this IMPOSSIBLE to get out of, if done correctly. Your only hope is to do an aerial/airdodge so that if they do footstool you, your animation will make you immune to the footstool.

For everyone below: DI means "Directional Influence." If you are in the air, holding a direction on the analog stick will make you fall that respective direction. For example say that C.Falcon has you in his A,A,A...combo. Holding away from him will gradually make your character "float" away, albeit while being hit.
