Nice vid. I like that Ed not only makes his calls with some style mixed with authority he looks like he could break up a fight between a linebacker and a fullback by grabbing them both by the throat, lifting them off the ground and saying "Now settle down boys." I grew up on old, balding potbellied NFL refs that looked like they would go to the morgue if they were run over. Ed looks like he would simply show them his bicep & repel them away with the Force
Sadly, last year and it's bull with the IW and the SD fans has aged him considerably, which is most visible in his face. It's hard to believe just how much hate mail that I receive about him, and I was just having fun one day with some dvd equipment while listening to this song, and suddenly Ed was dancing. But these fanatics are truly that--it's scary.
Last year, 2008, Ed had an IW (inadvertant whistle) on a play that he thought was an incomplete forward pass on Denver, but was actually very very close and was a fumble just barely. SD lost the game, blamed it on Hoch, as well as their mediocre season. There was also some instant replay equipment that didn't work right, and they blamed Ed for that too, as if he controlled the replay booth too. They act as if that ONE IW ruined their season, which of course is nonsense. A bunch of losers.
Ed hands down blew the game, he wasn't allowed to ref the superbowl that year ONLY because of his blunder at San Diego. Stop pretending you know what youre talking about.

He had an IW at a really bad time for SDiego in a game
against Denver 2 seasons ago. (There was a tech glitch
in the IR booth later that they blamed on him, too, ha ha).
He owned up to it and apologized to the coach, it was a just
human error. It happens to every official, including the best,
which Ed is. But they haven't forgiven him, if you've been
searching, you must've seen the clips 20 times at least.
