@johney13 No it's DMC2, DMC3, DMC1 and DMC4. If you have looked at the trailer for "DMC5" you know that dante is a punk/emo kid, and then in DMC2 he converts to full emo. Throughout the rest of the games he regains his sense of anything and becomes a decent devilhunter (humanbeing in other cases).
It is understandable that he goes emo knowing that his fate is to save humankind for like 2000 years in his father stead, you know to rebell a bit. But then he snaps out of it in time for the 3rd one.

Dante beats verfil in 3 which is one. DMC1 DAnte beats Nelo wich is Vergil brought back by Mondous(also defeated). In DMC4 The Yamato, Vergil's sword, has his soul in it. Thats why if you see the gallery in DMC4, you can see Nero in his Demon form but its Nelo Angeloin the back with the FUcking sword... so to all of you that fight over this shit... its so funny. get it right... and DMC2... I do not know what the fucking point of that shit was but it was stll fun!!!

you've got it wrong in the description. devil may cry 3 is technically the first in the storyline chronologically,then comes DMC1, then DMC4 and last DMC2 (which was an epic fail according to most fans). Vergil wasn't dead in the DMC1, he was corrupted by Mundus.

That is a kick ass trailer. But just to let ya know Capcom did release a statement saying this is the second "sequel" in the Devil May Cry franchise, which would explain why you're seeing both Lady from DMC3 and Trish from DMC1.
Offical order DMC3, DMC1, DMC4 and DMC2 but Capcom do not wish to include DMC2 as part of the offical timeline due to how bad it is.
