Yea it is. 46 to 52 inch Samsungs cost hundreds more granted you technically get better quality out of them.

I payed 1900 for my 8 series samsung, but when looking at it in the long run, we are virtually using it for the same reasons, so you saved nearly a thousand more dollars compared to me lol.

well my friend it depends if u want full 1080pHD or just having a ps3 on a regular tv,you wont get the best quality but it would look ok,but if u want hard core HD gaming then u need a fresh from the oven HD tv,first the tv,ok theres plasma,lcd,and dlp but for gaming I srongly recomend a lcd,plasmas r for movies,now all u need is the rigt definition,there is 720p and full 1080p tvs, for a ps3 get a tv that is 1080p not 1080i,i have a 40"sony bravia and i think that 40" is the best for HD+hd cabl

really though you don't really start noticing a difference between 1080 and 720 until you start approaching 50".... now if you're getting anything less than 40 inches, get yourself a 720 and save hundreds. I would really just say go to the store and see what the picture looks like... some expensive ones look like crap, some cheap ones look great.
