You are right to say he has a lot of issues to tackle. Another one will be the changes that current President Bush made to the FAMILY LEAVE ACT recently. The new rules that would give employers more direct access to worker health information, cut the time that workers have to give notice of the need for leave and increase procedures that have to be followed when requesting leave.
In terms of people looking at content or not, you have to consider his opponent.
His opponent has been presented to us foreigners as a progressive conservative who almost votes like a democrat. That's not how he compaigned.
Obama is a GREAT speaker.
All the same, he won by huge number electoral votes but small difference in popular vote.
There exists hope. I suspect, more ppl are reasonable than one thinks even in your polarized country!!!!!!!! Lets see what he can do. ;-).

GWB did indeed leave him some work.
One of rare cases where a president REALLY "made a difference". To bad difference was for the worse.
