I was on a cross country motor cycle trip. As I came over the mountains and saw the lights of Reno Nevada at night, the meaning of this song came to me. This song is about Las Vagas, and 1 of my favorites.

I was an absolute fanatic over Bon era AC/DC when I was a kid in high school. I'm 45 yrs old now, don't even listen to hard rock anymore, but everytime I hear something from this version of AC/DC it gets my testosterone and adrenaline flowing like I was 17. Sin City, Riff Raff, Whole Lotta Rosie... This is as good as it gets when you want to bang some heads and slam some tequila and beer.

I remember running home when I was 16 yrs old to watch this on Saturday Night Special. Wanted to see the Nug and Aerosmith. @zoutte I had a friend who gave me a video tape of the same Midnight Special Show you are talking about and was absolutely blown away. It was the first time I had ever seen a video with Bon Scott. I would take this video tape to school with me when I was in High School to watch it since I didn't have a vcr yet. I would sneek out of study hall and watch it over and over. Eventually the tape was stolen. Wish I had the same show on dvd.

Brian isn't "brilliant in his own way". He's remarkably average as a lyricist and a poor vocalist. He's a great front man though. How could Bon "take the band to new levels"? He was the building block for Brian, Malcolm and Angus to move the band on in terms of staure but certainly not musical prowess.

Some of you folks are arguing over who the better singer is/was. On the albums, they both have their strengths. But you had to -see- Bon to understand why he will always be the best singer that AC-DC ever had.

To put it simply Bon has a better voice than Brian by miles.
But whatever Brian has,he is good at it and songs like Thunderstruck and shoot to thrill wouldn't have sounded good with Bon.They have different styles.just accept it..enjoy ACDC's music.....stop fighting..!!

All of you guys that keep arguing as to who the better singer is are a bunch of fags. Bon was brilliant in his own way, Brian is brilliant in his own way. Both took the band to new levels, and both contributed into the history of making AC/DC legendary. Shut the fuck up about who is better, and just go listen to whichever AC/DC record you like the best.

@resqfireman I agree totally. Brain's AC/DC is good. However, he does not have Bon's distinctive voice or passion for certain songs and when he does them he fuckin' ruins them. Just imagine this.......suddenly Bon's voice coming across singing Back in Black or Heatseeker. We would all say WTF!!..it's just NOT right. Works both ways

Brian isn't "brilliant in his own way". He's remarkably average as a lyricist and a poor vocalist. He's a great front man though. How could Bon "take the band to new levels"? He was the building block for Brian, Malcolm and Angus to move the band on in terms of staure but certainly not musical prowess.
