People hold their phone sideways because it is the proper way to shoot video. Take a look at your monitor. What orientation is it? Take a look at your TV. What orientation is it? So why would you hold your phone up and down? ... and people wonder "why is it back on the sides" I wanna slap em' I took a video shot this way and did the pan and zoom trick, (Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek) ... talk about zooming .. and I used Sony Vegas.

I think Apple should record video in widescreen no matter which way you're holding it, they could still show the screen size video, but they could add video on the left in right side that aren't in the screen. Or at least have that option to do so.

@DarknessKingCoH It is a major failing of the iPhone that video isn't recorded in landscape mode no matter how you hold the phone.

@jakeludington Hell yeah. Major fail. I was at a concert and wondered why everyone had their phones sideways, now I realize that most the vidoes I shot came out all fucked up. YOU FAIL IPHONE.
