The fastest stock IS350 i've ever seen vs a fucking automatic 5.0 with stock 4,500 rpm shift point. Awesome! I will be honest, automatic 5.0 Mustangs are the slowest shit ever. Replace the auto trans with a T5 5 speed and you drop an entire second off your ET, no exaggeration.

I get 20 mpg in town in stop and go traffic in a city with almost 3 million inhabitants and 25 on the highway, it is quiet and smooth inside, I have never smelled any exhaust fumes, and it's a 2650 lb car with 4-link rear suspension and Mcpherson front suspension w/ rack and pinion (in 1982) with a fat sway bar up front. Fox Mustangs can outhandle 98% of cars with a few cheap suspension mods. Keep on trying to justify an expensive car.

@pwkid For real. I'm in the 12s with basically a very lightly modified 1982 Mustang. Original 302 engine with a stock set of iron Explorer heads, very mild cam, short tube headers, stock replacement intake manifold, stock replacement carburetor, stock T5 transmission and a set of Ford 3.73 gears. Full interior, a/c, power steering, smog, etc. I just put a fat pair of Hoosiers on it and launch the piss out of it and it has no trouble getting deep into the 12s. It is probably making 300 hp lol.

@gtdrummerdude A is350 is fast for a naturally aspirated V6 with an automatic transmission. They have run low 13s with great drivers and mods (there isn't much you can do to modify the car due to lexus tuning) Its a luxury vehicle, not a pure sports car.

I will never see a mustang like a racing material car... their performance are too low for the type of engine they have... cars like Mustangs, Challenger and Camaro, I see them as a way of style, Beautifully loud engines that can burn your tyres faster than a turned on match.

For me a good comparison would be in the motorcycle world & Harleys, for racing I would prefer R1 type of motorcycle, any Harley is just a fun lifestyle. IMHO
