This shows how much respect the McMahons had for Greg Valentine. They practically gave him the WWF championship here....without actually giving him the title. The disputed finish is a show of respect.

@Lfdjake91 It was pretty rare that they would have been interested in having one during Backlund's reign though. He wasn't very well-respected amongst insiders, but Backlund was insanely popular.
