  • Sad but true We live in a time that young people ( under 45 ) din't know or didn't care about coretta scott king. The Dream died when Martin was killed. in all the decades that followed, how far did we really advance ? True Story.. Coretta and her foundation was at the state house in Trenton , NJ in honor of black history month, well lunch was a little late being served, well Unfortunately Corretta became very nasty and beligerent like the world owed her something, the dream died long ago.

  • My teacher Barry Hoonan, is having the class do an essay on MLK jr. I found this video and it had a lot of information. Soooo thank you hannahkateee! :)

  • @Beyoncefan1000 sure to go along with the 99% black

  • i know lol! that is a hard one!

  • If there's ever a movie about Mrs.Coretta, Actress Philycia Rashad should play Mrs. King!!

  • I agree with you Beyoncefan1000. Philycia Rashad resemble Mrs. KIng in so many ways. And I truly believe she would do a great job just as she does every other part i a movie or stage play. Now that you mention Philycia to play Mrs. King I can not think of any one else in hollywood that fit the BILL

  • @Beyoncefan1000 i agree with yuo 100%

  • @Beyoncefan1000 OMG i totally agree the look alike in so many way i just really cant explain great choice

  • @Beyoncefan1000

    PERFECT SUGGESTION!

  • @Beyoncefan1000 I agree! Cicely Tyson did an excellent job playing Mrs. King in the movie, "King" but Phylicia Rashad would do an excellent job as well.

  • @Beyoncefan1000 wonderful idea!

  • thanks

  • Im eleven and doing a essay on Coretta Scott King. I think she had ALOT of courage to stay with Martin, to have your home bombed and keep going takes a very strong woman.

  • very true

  • Mrs. king was 26 years old when she married Martin King.

  • This Should Give You A Lot To Say. Be Blessed

  • How Old was Coretta when she married Martin?

  • this is the first time i ever heard her speak.

  • Oh I see, you're one of those people who like to say stupid sh!t just so people will reply to you.

Well, here's your reply. Enjoy it.

  • It was humility that kept Mrs. King from trying to steal the spotlight from her husband, the same as many First Lady's have done, including Jackie O, Laura Bush, etc. There's a lot you can learn from them all!

  • I support this comment. Its well known that she lived high of the hog in his legacy, charging royalty fees whenever she could on MLK's I had a dream speech. She didn't do shit for civil rights.

  • Don't say things like that about Mrs. King she shared her husband with the world. You have to be a caring person to do that....So what if she wanted fee her husband was killed he was the soul provider for the family.

  • Shame on you for saying such a thing like that. She didn't do shit for civil rights? Yeah right, she gave her husband, she gave away time her and Martin could've spent together, she gave away most of her marriage because I'm sure he was always working, she gave him a warm, loving home to come to from a long day of work, she took care of his children. That woman gave up a lot and how dare you say something stupid like that. And if she did spend money like royalty...Hell she deserved it.

  • And another damn thing take a look back at the photos throughout the Civil Rights movement...yeah check it out and you'll find plenty of picture with her stand and walking beside Martin. And you say she did do anything for civil rights. She lived through that shit!!!

  • Regardless, she's was still a scam artist cashing in on MLK's name.

  • If she's such a scam artist tell me exactly what it was she did? How did she cash in on Martin's name?

  • She charges money for anybody to use his famous I had a dream speech.

  • I think MLK was awesome btw, so don't think this is a racist thing.

  • I never thought of this as a racist thing. I don't waste my time with that type of mess because I'm not a messy person. I just wanted to know why you would say a thing like that about this man's wife. A veyr great woman and even if she were charging people to use his speech that's called copyright. And don't forget that this woman as also given back to the world. And she should not be disrespected like that. Hell, the woman is dead! Let her rest in peace without the B.S.

  • So what was it she did that warrants deification? I'm sure she can less about what others say of her at this point.

  • I already told you we don't know what was going on personally with Martin during these times and I'm sure there's been a lot of times he's had to vent out to Coretta. She stood with Martin and believed in what he was doing. There are a lot of so-called wives that don't believe in or support their husbands and she did.

  • @astrolifter you insult the queen like that how dare you you are a nobody you stupid shit you are a scam artist with no life and sit on youtube a 40 year old virgin sitting at there slutty ass mothers house the only women that will open here legs in under 10 sec. so stop just get the message black people are comming up and you wont last in 2012 we are going to finish what we started a long time ago.

  • @Fdeshaun1 I'VE NEVER INSULTED THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND, SO STOP LYING ON ME TYRONE, OR IS IT SHAKISA?

  • @Fdeshaun1 MY MOTHER HAS JUICY STUFF BETWEEN HER LEGS BTW...YUMMY!

  • Like Coretta said herself, the people that hate gays or are against equal rights for LGBT are 'mis informed' Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere'

She was a warrior for any group or person who faced prejudice and injustice.

I will forever be thankful to Coretta for fighting for what is right. For fighting against racism, for fighting for equal gender rights, gay rights, animal rights.

    RIP Coretta, and thankyou x

  • She was a wonderful person, she shared her husband with us!

  • Her husband shared himself with various other women, so the rumor is...

  • What an elegant, eloquent person. Mrs. King was a trained musician - voice and violin - from the New England Conservatory. Is there any footage of her singing?

  • She certainly was a follower of the teachings of the Bible, but she was able to accept change in her life and not be so closed minded to think that we should live in a world where everything remains the same...Oh what a boring world we would live in if there were no change!

  • What a "class act" she was!!!!!!!!!!! This is why I walk with my head up on a daily basis!

  • Instead of giving me a thumbs down may you please at least try and answer my question.

You can not adjust you god around your life, you have to adjust your life around god.

  • God teaches love and that we should love individuals as they are. Im really not in the mood to go and grab my Bible to start quoting scriptures, but what I will say is that in my life, I have seen more gays and lesbians display a far more amount of love than most heterosexuals! There is so much hate in our world today. What is so wrong with others displaying their affection they way they want to?

  • I just dont understand how she can be pro gay and transgender is it not against the teaching of the bible, Unless she not a follower?

  • she never said she was necessarily pro homosexuality. what she supported is people's right to not have people do hateful acts against them no matter who they were or what they did.

  • OK I read somewhere that she was totally pro

  • mmmm child.....

seriously, i watched her funeral and learned a lot...
