i just saw the story about the displaced animals from the slave lake fires and how the ehs is reuniting them with there owners who just lost everything, i havent cryed for 20 years and seeing those owners get thier family members back made me cry. as a dog owner and pet lover, THANK YOU EDMONTON HUMANE SOCIETY. you are ALL heroes in my eye, keep up the great work!
The posting below has some major innacuracies. We have never called ourselves a “no kill” shelter. We are transparent, and consistently state that we do euthanize animals that are deemed to be “unhealthy and untreatable”. Many people incorrectly use the term “no kill” to describe us, because we do not have a time limit on an animal available for adoption (they stay on the adoption floor until they find a home as long as they remain healthy). Also, we do go through an audit process each year.
@EdmontonHumane dont waste any time defending what you do to that IDIOT. any half wit knows what great things you do for our pets, god bless edmonton humane society and thier staff for everything they do. :-)
THE EDMONTON HUMAN SOCIETY..*is due* for a AUDIT!.. It is operating under incorrect advertisement..as a NO KILL SHELTER..and kills. It is a business. A AUDIT is overdue. SALARIES..being paid..to excecutives..and donations...taken for private purpose..nee a closer look. AUDIT..AUDIT...AUDIT..! We as the people have a RIGHT to request such. SIGN UP FOR THIS REQUEST.......pls. Help the animals.
I love the EHS. I have dealt with them many times before and they have always been helpful and caring. Can't say the same for the SPCA in my province.
