It looks like the metal above the wing would give more lateral/horizontal stability in the high pressure area above the wing. Maybe decreases turbulence as the air comes off the wing.

@ftlindust u can get that body kit from Hennessy racing..he made on that looks almost like tha.its wide body same as this one has front spilitter which looks better then the race car and has same side skirts/rocker panels w.e.but rear bumper is diff and has a diffuser..also has a diff hood which looks betta as well..search Hennessy 1000hp cts v coupe on here u'll c it
