wow. He looks so happy and full of life (like Bill Bellichick). I'd rather die young snacking on bacon, cheddar, and italian food. The upside being that I wont have to pay taxes till I'm 100.
@begood20000 No actually I wont. I realise what Im getting myself into. I live without regrets and Im not ashamed of it. Its better than living with a stick up ones ass isnt it?
He looks very unhealthy to me. For 108 that's good, but it doesn't look like he lifts weights or does much of anything active, as he said all he does is walk. Let's see what Jim Morris will look like when he turns 100, that guy lifts heavy weights every day and eats much healthier than this guy.
@fenderwangcaster I agree. The only consistenly really healthy and physically active and mentally unstuck people I see on Youtube are the ones who put dark leafy greens and other veggies plus some fruits into a blender and drink that all day. I'm doing same, but also 5 grams daily of blue green algae and spirulina. He does not do any "spiritual" work, just had a good life overall. It's not how long you live, but what you do with your spiritual self while you are here to be able to do it.
@fenderwangcaster your a doctor huh?? you seen his cat scans huh. you must eat steak every day. does being critical make you feel better about yourself? bet not.

Great interview! My only comments is that I would not eat toast because toasting creates toxic acrylic amide from the carbohydrate due to the high temperature, and I would not eat peanutbutter because peanuts contain aflatoxins. Aside from that I think his lifestyle is great!
very amazing that he is this old, and can prove to us that eating correctly is the key to a long life. We are fortunate because he could have died by an accident or murder, etc. 50 years ago, you know? Jack Lalanne and he should get together.
The best example of how much black don't crack! This man looks younger than a lot Caucasions that are 50 years his junior! This is not being racist - it's a fact!
@begood20000 To be Caucasion and look young @ 50 without plastic surgery is
un-common. However, being black and looking young @ 50, IS common! Black people have thicker skin and have heavy levels of melanin, which prevents premature aging. Whites have thinner skin and little melanin, which not only causes premature aging but caner and this is a fact of life, that we all witness in our everyday lives. It's not racist, it's just a fact.
Guy looks about 60~! I am still not sure I totally believe his real age. Remember, 108 is very very old, there is no one, man o woman that looks, talks walks like this dude, I think its got a lot tied into the advertisement the are using on the screen. I'm a little skeptical. I'd be doubtful if he is even 88.
@RanetkiFan its true...and its down to his diet. he is mostly alkaline which is what our bodies are supposed to be. The reason we shrivel up and get dementia is because of the diets we have which are overly acidic and designed for meat eating predators. Our bodies are nearly identical to herbivores in every way its not hard to find the research showing that. Im not a vegan, vegetarian or animal activist but I do appreciate facts. How many ppl do you think would eat meat without cooking it?
@emergence999 Yes, and the point? Is he really happy? Many people can live longer lives, but they really don't know HOW to live. I'd rather live 20 years less and do what I really want, eat what I want, travel to where I want to go and drink what I want to drink and not try to micro manage every waking minute of my life. Life is full or risks and chances. Every hear of death by prescription? Docs are fulling us full of pills for? I still won't and don't believe this guy's age for one minute.
@RanetkiFan well its your choice I guess to each their own. But what if you knew there was an alternative to live for an additional 100 years whilst feeling even better. Docs fill us full of pills yes but there is no need for pills if we lead more healthy lives. Micro managing isnt an issue either if we actually enjoy living healthy. If you want to limit yourself to believe only in what fits into your model of the world thats also fine and as you say its your choice....
WE are not intended to live to 200 years old/ Wnats the point again? You just don't get it do you? Its not the number of years a person lives, that determines how he is remembered, its what the person has contributed to society and whom they have helped along the way. You could live an antiseptic life, as this guy has lived and extend your life by years, but do you really want to just live years or live LIFE?
Secondly, I will never believe this guy is the age as described
@RanetkiFan like i said its fine for you to choose what you want to ive no problem with that. But wouldnt it be fair to say that if you could live a fuller even more happier and healthier life whilst contributing to the universe 100% all the way or whatever for an extended period, that you would choose to do that? - you say that I really dont get it but in truth you know absolutely nothing about me and are making judgements based ona few paragraphs with very limited sensory information
@RanetkiFan for the record I am a practitioner of NLP so I FULLY understand what it truly means to have internal happiness and what is required in order to transform lives and liberate minds. All im saying is that there are more options than you think there are. there universe is filled with possibilities and humans are part of that. Who says we are not meant to live to 200 yrs old? scientists? based on what? what weve already known for years? and thats entirely my point...there is much more
@RanetkiFan on a final note I will say again you wont believe this guys age because the possiblity does not exist to you therefore you limit yourself and your options with beliefs like that. Im willing to wager that you go throughout your life doing your best to discount feats of greatness in order for you to feel more content with your own reality..it makes you feel more sane to know that your internal reality is the same as the one outside you. Truth is every1 has their own sense of reality..
@RanetkiFan there is no right and wrong reality there are only choices and how those choices can affect our internal world and how they connect to the universe around us. If we make choices in life that are for the ebst for us and do not hinder us or others but only helps, then we are on the right path regardless of whether its true or not. the secret to life is to experience, learn and teach so that nature can continue to improve herself. Look around you and consider that, itll open your eyes
@RanetkiFan You don't know that, maybe we are. If we have a good enviroment, eat healthy everyday, exercise everyday, have no stress, etc., we CAN live until 200 years old, it's not impossbile.
@RanetkiFan So you're a skeptic huh? Well it's good to be aware and not believe everything you hear but the facts are before the flood man was living to be nearly 1000 yrs old so yes we're made to live long!! And yes it is the quality of life not the quantity but no one could live to be 200 yrs without the quality existing too! And if one can always be a blessing to others the longer one lives the better! How do you know how this guy has lived his life anyway?
@RanetkiFan personally I intend to continue to grow and expand my perspective in more ways than I care to count and I am doing exactly that every day of my life. Impossible doesnt fit into my vocabulary and its a very libertaing thing to release all limiting beliefs one can have about ourselves and the world around us
"They used to laugh at me. They say, ' jeesh this guy eats crazy. Never seen him eat a piece of meat.' Blah, blah, blah. Well you may call me crazy but it suits me... But, all those fellas now are dead." Haha
Ok he eats fish a few times a week. But whats up with the mercury. I have heard that there where cases of mercury intoxication by consuming fish over a longer time.SO its isnt a small amount.
Paul, I have tried to watch this video on two different computers. It took me almost 20 minutes to get it to work the first time I watched it. I want to share this video with someone and I cannot get it to play.
Am I the only one having problems? If not, can you please re-upload this video. It's too important to have people miss this due to technical problems.
This is the best interview, best video I have seen on YouTube, period. Paul, I can't thank you enough. Where did this man's father get all that wisdom? Wow.
This man is right on the money in my opinion. He refers to the bible, how unclean the meat is today, eating fish, keeping the calorie count low, preventative foods, green vegetables, fruit - I think this is the smartest diet I have seen with the exception of peanut butter and wheat toast (due to gluten). But his good foods outweigh his bad.
No. I apologize if that's the way I wrote reads. I think peanuts are bad for a different reason. One reason is they are not a nut, they are a legume and they are high in fat. I can't say if peanut butter is healthy or not but my gut feeling is that it isn't very healthy. I'd rather have almond butter myself.
Most people think of Jiffy as being peanut butter also and it's not. If you want to eat peanut butter get the kind with the oil floating on the top :)
i know theyre a legume i dont eat peanut butter i used to be allergic and i dont want to really eat it again. i do eat cooked legumes (and rice and quinoa) im not 100% raw it doesnt work for me
Paul I would appreciate to hear your thoughts and experience with fasting. 1 day fast? 3 day fast? 7 day fast? water? juice?
The most balanced approach seems to me to fast 1 day a week, make it a discpline/practice and no big deal.
I would also be very interested to hear your thoughts on intention and energy. I recogznie that alot of my 'healthy habits' are based out of fear and I am starting to understand that it
Considering our closest species love to nibble on termites and bugs a lot, I think eating fish would be a good way to substitute the bugs if we can't get them ;) I have been vegetarian a year now but recently am wondering if I should try some meat, but its hard to imagine! For now it would be healthy just to start with eggs since I can't get Raw goats dairy :) Obviously I am having to cut out all the animal stuff since I tryed Raw, but honey is still awsome for me :)
I have always drank coffee or black tea in the morning....guess who is going to drink cinnamon tea in the morning for rest of his life? Excellent interview...please do allot more !!
yeah, I've always noticed that men of extreme longevity are never super tall. Jack Lalanne is 5'6" I believe and Bernando is under 6 feet. Of course, there are exceptions I'm sure.
Fish is one of the healthiest foods for man. Jesus ate fish, Jack LaLanne ate and eats fish and is 95 years old. This gentleman is 108 years old and fish is a big part of his diet. Bears also love fish and they are omnivores just like man. Man is NOT like the bonobos. Please 80 10 10s, stop giving us Dr. Grahams propaganda.
When will you present your favorite evidence for man being "an omnivore with a STRONG carnivorous leaning", as you said was the case on another video from Nison? The internet gets tiresome when just state facts without attempting to back them up.
Stevo, fish doesn't seem to be a big part of his diet when he himself says he eats "a little fish" (a few ounces at a time). It would seem fruits and vegetables are a big part of his diet, going by him saying that he eats "mostly fruits and vegetables". He sure doesn't seem to give into those strong carnivorous leanings (again, may I have your favorite piece of evidence?) you speak of.
If he has 3 meals a day and eats 7 days a week, then he has 21 meals a week. Eating "a little" fish, around "five ounces" (barely 150 grams), for three of those twenty-one times doesn't make fish, as Stevo says, "a big part of his diet", IMO.
I agree about the fish. The early Inuits (Eskimos) ate a lot of fish and almost an all meat diet and were reported to have no disease and the healthiest bones and teeth known to the doctors that studied them before they adapted to the European diet which lead to terrible health.
If you watch 'The Perils of Dairy' here on YouTube, you will see some of the evidence indicating that the Inuits weren't that healthy prior to "modern man" finding them, osteoporosis being one issue. Seems it might just be a myth. I'm sure the Inuit people were fit, though - but you can be/appear fit on any diet, be it an all-fruit or an all-meat one.
Using teeth as an indicator of body condition generally, and thus diet, he went to the Natural History Museum looking for specimens. He found remarkably good sets of teeth among skeletons dug up from Inuit Burial Grounds.
I cannot speak for the accuracy of any of this information. I also do not myself condone a diet high in meat. I too believe in the diet proposed by the man in this video.
My point is that we tend to find the information we look for.
Yes, there's a lot of conflicting information. One's set of teeth is not one's entire skeleton, though. I don't have a P.hd. on bone and diet, so I can't easily take sides.
Watching now. I like the speaker. What I will say is that I agree an alkaline diet is important to health and that meat is acidic and too much meat can lead to acidosis and leach minerals from the bones. I believe that completely.
With that said, I also think that fish from the sea are high in mineral content.
Seal blubber is probably not healthy. The bible says not to eat the fat of the animal. Not sure seals were meant to eat either.
In an article called "The Inuit: Lessons from the Artic" Weston Price, a dentist and nutritionist, that studied many different indigenous people and cultures during the 1800s said this, "In his (Inuit) primitive state he has provided an example of physical excellence and dental perfection such as has seldom been excelled by any race in the past or present."
Again, I can't speak for the accuracy of this information but I see no reason why a dentist would create propaganda in regard to meat.

It seems to be working fine right now?

@thesetwofeet your computers fucking suck, i have an old computer made in 2004 running windows xp and it plays fine.

This is the best interview, best video I have seen on YouTube, period. Paul, I can't thank you enough. Where did this man's father get all that wisdom? Wow.
thesetwofeet 2 years ago
This man is right on the money in my opinion. He refers to the bible, how unclean the meat is today, eating fish, keeping the calorie count low, preventative foods, green vegetables, fruit - I think this is the smartest diet I have seen with the exception of peanut butter and wheat toast (due to gluten). But his good foods outweigh his bad.
green2lean 2 years ago 5
I agree with your comment 100%

peanuts have gluten?
hopesolofan18 2 years ago
If you want to eat peanut butter get the kind with the oil floating on the top :)
green2lean 2 years ago 7
i know theyre a legume i dont eat peanut butter i used to be allergic and i dont want to really eat it again. i do eat cooked legumes (and rice and quinoa) im not 100% raw it doesnt work for me
hopesolofan18 2 years ago
@green2lean Peanuts are more inflammatory. I don't eat them right now.

don't believe the lies that claim fat is bad.
if that was true why don't carribean people suffer from heart/cardiovascular deseases?
their main food are coconuts which are very high in fat.
they don't even have a word for heart/cardiovascular deseases because they never occur there.
it's about eating the right fat.
it's proven that people who eat lots of walnuts which are very high in fat have a much lower heart/cardiovascular desease rate.

By the way just have a look at where in the world the most low fat products are for sale and there you will find the fatest people on earth.
The fats that are bad are those naturally not existing, like transfats or hydrogenated fats, like butter for example.
Most people eat butter but butter is a pure cemical product and clogs your blood vessels.

I want this to change!
Thanks :)

How do you switch your perspective from one of fear to gratefulness, appreciation?
I thought praying and thanking before each meal might help switch my perspective, however I often forget to do this
andreg8506 2 years ago
Wow... 108? He looks 80.. if that!
Thank you for sharing this.

If you see the way people age where I live
You would think he was in his late 50's.
These are the type of folks we should be learning from.

Paul, how tall is Bernando?
stevo35972 2 years ago
I'm not sure, good question but bigger than me and I'm 5'7
thedurianking 2 years ago
yeah, I've always noticed that men of extreme longevity are never super tall. Jack Lalanne is 5'6" I believe and Bernando is under 6 feet. Of course, there are exceptions I'm sure.
stevo35972 2 years ago
that's good for me. lol
thedurianking 2 years ago
Fish is one of the healthiest foods for man. Jesus ate fish, Jack LaLanne ate and eats fish and is 95 years old. This gentleman is 108 years old and fish is a big part of his diet. Bears also love fish and they are omnivores just like man. Man is NOT like the bonobos. Please 80 10 10s, stop giving us Dr. Grahams propaganda.
stevo35972 2 years ago 3
When will you present your favorite evidence for man being "an omnivore with a STRONG carnivorous leaning", as you said was the case on another video from Nison? The internet gets tiresome when just state facts without attempting to back them up.
Boolze 2 years ago
I don't understand your question?
thedurianking 2 years ago
The question was for Steve, whose comment I replied to, which YouTube currently only shows if you press "show all comments".
Boolze 2 years ago
Stevo, fish doesn't seem to be a big part of his diet when he himself says he eats "a little fish" (a few ounces at a time). It would seem fruits and vegetables are a big part of his diet, going by him saying that he eats "mostly fruits and vegetables". He sure doesn't seem to give into those strong carnivorous leanings (again, may I have your favorite piece of evidence?) you speak of.
Boolze 2 years ago
He said he eats fish three times a week.
green2lean 2 years ago
If he has 3 meals a day and eats 7 days a week, then he has 21 meals a week. Eating "a little" fish, around "five ounces" (barely 150 grams), for three of those twenty-one times doesn't make fish, as Stevo says, "a big part of his diet", IMO.
Boolze 2 years ago
I agree about the fish. The early Inuits (Eskimos) ate a lot of fish and almost an all meat diet and were reported to have no disease and the healthiest bones and teeth known to the doctors that studied them before they adapted to the European diet which lead to terrible health.
green2lean 2 years ago
If you watch 'The Perils of Dairy' here on YouTube, you will see some of the evidence indicating that the Inuits weren't that healthy prior to "modern man" finding them, osteoporosis being one issue. Seems it might just be a myth. I'm sure the Inuit people were fit, though - but you can be/appear fit on any diet, be it an all-fruit or an all-meat one.

Dr. Blake F. Donaldson in the 1920s
My point is that we tend to find the information we look for.
green2lean 2 years ago
Yes, there's a lot of conflicting information. One's set of teeth is not one's entire skeleton, though. I don't have a P.hd. on bone and diet, so I can't easily take sides.
Boolze 2 years ago
Watching now. I like the speaker. What I will say is that I agree an alkaline diet is important to health and that meat is acidic and too much meat can lead to acidosis and leach minerals from the bones. I believe that completely.
With that said, I also think that fish from the sea are high in mineral content.
Seal blubber is probably not healthy. The bible says not to eat the fat of the animal. Not sure seals were meant to eat either.
I think fish is healthy, especially from the sea.
green2lean 2 years ago
In an article called "The Inuit: Lessons from the Artic" Weston Price, a dentist and nutritionist, that studied many different indigenous people and cultures during the 1800s said this, "In his (Inuit) primitive state he has provided an example of physical excellence and dental perfection such as has seldom been excelled by any race in the past or present."
Again, I can't speak for the accuracy of this information but I see no reason why a dentist would create propaganda in regard to meat.
