Personally I love both, and both types of athletes are built for different things. Sorry about this and I don't mean to stereotype but from my own experience most (but not all) football players are aggressive and thuggish, meanwhile, it's very rare you find a dislikable badminton player. Now I have met some dicks playing badminton, but on the whole it's a lot nicer than football

cant understand how some ppl think badminton players are weak. badminton plyrs are complete. they have got stamina, strength, speed, agility, reflexes and most importantly the mental clarity to know where to place the shuttle. i'm a big football fan, but football players just aren't as fit as badminton plyrs. yea, they run like 10km per match but can they twist their bodies 10 times in different directions in one minute and still have the subtle touch to place the shuttle right where they want?

@Skkl14 I play both competitively and I can vouch that I definitely wouldn't be able to play competitive singles badminton games for 90 minutes, but I can definitely play a full 90 minute soccer match, so yeah, badminton works your body way more if played under the extreme condition.

But yeah, Soccer and Badminton are totally different. Soccer relies on much more stamina in terms of constant motion running and moving. Badminton is a more explosive sport by which most of the shots are explosive. That is not to say Soccer doesn't have its explosive shots as well but you get the idea.

@shadem23 yes footballers sometimes walk around but most of the time they SPRINT and sprinting isn't easy at all. im a bodybuilder and sprinting is the cruelest torture to my body, more than any other cardio. Yes, in badminton you move alot but its all in around some 7meters whereas in football i am sure you've seen one and to cover that distance is like running in hell, FYI i was a footballer for years but i quit cz honestly i couldn't take all that sprinting pain.

ive played both badminton and football at the same time, and personally i think badminton is harder.

i know sprinting tough, but it's the acceleration part thats the hardest, and badminton is all about acceeleration.

the cruelest is the right word, due to your muscles laking of O2, but every duel in badminton is like a sprint, because of the work needed to change direction, and no break between duels. but depending on how you are build/trained, different sports feel different.

In badminton, court is smaller, racuqets are less then 100 grams heavy, a lot more faster than tennis, you use your wrist more in badminton unlike tennis where you do a lot of upper body swinging, you don't 'run' in badminton - a lot of leaping, jumping and super quick reflexes unlike tennis where it's more running side to side. The fastest smash in badminton is over 300km/h whereas in tennis, the fastest serve is 250km/h by the none other Andy Roddick
