  • Bare did before Denver

  • Love it!!!!!!!

  • lyrics of a 7 yr.old

  • Bobby Bare is a talented entertainer! He is still terrific in concert!

  • Saw Bobby in Mo. Fantastic entertainer!

  • holy fuck this dude is awesome, i found him randomly on youtube.... lmfao

  • @1787dude I agree. Bobby is one of the greatest male singers in country music! Should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame!

  • @cmlbob most of the music i listen to is electronic and all trippy and whatnot but once i heard drop kick me jesus i was hooked lol,

  • @cmlbob Amen to that.

  • I have always enjoyed Bobby Bare. I have always been a fan. But my god...he butchered this song. This is not a song for him at all.

  • I've had a crush on this man since I was 10 years old:) Love this song and love hearing him sing it!

  • I only remember the show "Disco" where he was that day to be broadcast in the 70s, 3Sat channel just aired re-runs of it.

  • youtubing and seen this ...Brought back memories of a day gone by....Bobby is a talent that isn't given the credit he so richly deserves!!Love the Bare!!

  • I love this song.

  • This song I just want to play for a little boys dog... a friend that came to him when he had know one else... even as a grown man, never has the dog been forgotten... when the dog died, the world lost all reason... and a boy lost a hero.

Little brown and white springer spaniel... some things remain of you in a man that still remains.

Good boy... asleep by my fire... good boy.

  • @Quiethoof very nice and kinda sad, i have my best friend beside me now "boxer"

  • I was always his fan since the time he sung on concerts with Jim Reeves. But he and legendary Shel Silverstein is an era in country music. And imho the best era.

  • Love it!

    Great voice.

And let's hear it for " THAT HARP"!

  • Has this man ever sung a bad song? Wow, what a great country artist who doesn't get the credit he deserves. Bobby is a diamond; he "ain't" no stone. Thanks for a great video!

  • really think this is best version of this song, have watched the video many times, wished he had recorded this song, if he did I haven't found it yet.

  • Bobby Bare is definitely an artist who is well known, but one who doesn't really get the praise and credit he so richly deserves.

  • Bare really blinks a lot...

  • @j3rmz0r - it's probably the heat/glare of the lights

  • Baby faced Bobby Bare... Love him!

  • i like this version it sounds like he switched the words around though

  • I listen to this song and it reminds me of my grand father

R.I.P Anthony Gauthier (poppy) I love you!!!! Your grand baby <33

  • Has any one got How the story Ends by Bobby Bare

  • wish I had too !

  • I've got it on a tape Country Love Songs I bought in a Charity shop but it split before on I could transfer it on to C D candw87

  • i prefer this version i saw Bobby twice in London, and loved his show great post thnx

  • I just wish Bare had recorded this song.

  • Great lyrics!

  • dont wanna sound bad i love bobby bare but just this song i feel john denver sings it better even tho bobby still my favourite singer

  • Bobby Bare is a good ole boy!!!

  • aye they are from last week they have been stone !

  • I too have come to appreciate Bobby Bare's talent. Great version. Thanks for posting.

  • good stuff..John Denver does it best, but this ain't bad

  • ole bare still has it!

  • Ole Bobby did this one very well. Thanks.

  • Absolutely great!

  • I love this song, especially the lyrics. I did not know Bobby did this song.

  • great music, great artist.

  • I can't figure out the chord progression from G.....please help? I always had trouble years ago trying to figure out Denver stuff. He must tune each guitar different.

    I hate being musicly illiterate.

  • not sure where you're talking about,

    verses:

    G/D/Em/C/G/C/G/Em/A/D

    chorus

    G/C/G/Em/A/D/G/C/G/Em/C/G/Em/C/G/D/G

(maybe off here and there but this will be close enough to get you on the right track)

  • Thanx brother!

    PLM (peace,love,music)

  • John Denver is singing this song much more beautiful!! His version ist the best.

  • Thanks for posting- Bobby Bare version so laid back and professional.

  • Good job ! I like this very much.

  • John Denver recorded it and had a hit. I heard it for the first time on an old AM radio while driving from Wisconsin to Pennsylvania. I80/90 through Ohio.

"Some Days are Diamonds" was written by Dick Feller. This is Country Music

  • Love this song, especailly sang by Bobby Bare - he is always awesome!

  • Absolutely a true country song, can't compare old stuff to new "country" music that they have today. Not too many oldies left, country music is very sadly dying, well, I'm going to see Bobby in St. Cloud, MN in a little! ~*TRUE COUNTRY LEGENDS WILL NEVER DIE*~

  • Great song well sung great one thanks a lot ..

  • I Love this one. BTW Bobby Bare recorded a song "A Dear John Letter" with Skeeter Davis. Does anyone has a video of this song? appreciate if you post it here! many thanks

  • Why have his early songs like "Detroit City", and "500 Miles" been wiped off Youtube? They were posted several times about a month or so ago, but everyone who posted them was cancelled.

  • great song! greetz harmusic

  • I love this song! The way he sings it is perfect in his melancholic way...

  • Come On, This Sais Life In A Song!

  • i've only heard denvers version before, bare nailed it. it is one of if not the best thing that john d. ever did, (not to take away from him), but bare knocked it out the park. thnx-----so glad that most people know bare did more than marie leveaux

  • One of his songs I like the most!

  • I saw Bobby in Chicago in 67/68 at an outdoors show. Mickey Gilley was before him and it started to rain. Gilley ran for cover and left all the fans to stand in the rain, but Bobby Bare came out and played his whole set. Way to go Bobby.

  • Real good, keep it comming!

  • I could've sworn Billy Joe Shaver wrote this, but ok. this is a fairly good version

  • I like this version better too - Thanks for posting!

  • great music, great artist.

  • Actually, "Some Days..." is a Dick Feller song. Feller recorded in 1975. Bare's version preceded John Denver's by a year or so.

  • Thanks for the clarification.

I've never heard Feller's version, only the Bare's one and Denver's one.

    I prefer Bobby's version.

  • willie, kris, hank sr, and bare and david allan coe are amoung the best song writers there are----- they have written some of the best and most recorded songs especially kris.

  • @dukemantee2 i never new that thanks
