Dave, I've been following your builds for only a short time now and I enjoy your work very much. I am looking to build my own version of your transmission design and was wondering, What is the OD of your pulley?
Dave - I know you are trying to get the dimensions down - that being said - If the outside tread to tread width was only 48" wide - this little tank would fit in any standard pickup truck bed in the US. Thanks for sharing all of your hard work and taking the time to document it. You definitely make this project within the reach of the average backyard tinkerer.
@biglou250 : A full scale tank would be too much work and this sort of engineering won't hold up. This steering transmission is great up to a max of maybe 20hp and weight of max 1000 kilos but I wouldn't try any more cause it will just rip itself apart.
